Why you don't want to meet an African Forest elephant in the jungle

While filming Secrets of the Elephants in the Odzala National Park in the Republic of Congo, we set up camera traps in the forest in places where we expected to elephants to pass. We were hoping to find out more about their families movements, behaviour and interactions. But they didn't let us. They were extremely sensitive to the scent of humans and in the morning, we mostly found the cameras completely destroyed. Footage by Fleur Bone.
