This is so creepy and some sociopath stuff. My heart goes out to the kids, they're victims in this as well. I lost my dad when I was 9, and he was 39 too. As I grow up (I'm 24), I realize 39 is so young to pass away and he had so much life to live. She's a monster.

The husband mentioned previously that the wife was trying to kill him. Her family didn’t like her. The day the dad died, she had a party to celebrate closing a house. The kids aunt stated that the wife had access to her husbands safe with cash in it and she opened it right away (like she was obviously trying to get ahold of cash quickly) - the aunt attempted to speak with her about this for the sake of her kids and got punched.
Finally the mom pulled out a 2 million dollar life insurance policy on her husband - there is no way she would ever get away with this. This stupid book (the bits in pieces I saw looked horrible) - this book made things so much worse. Ugh she’s horrible

Apparently she punched the sister in law because she was told that the husband wrote her out of his will and therefore she had no right to the money in the safe; and also his sister was named as the beneficiary of his $500K life insurance policy, not Kouri. This news enraged Kouri and she punched the sister, and later sued for the rights to the property. She did however benefit from 4 other life insurance policies totaling $1.9m, but obviously she's not getting that now.
She killed him because she was somehow in debt to the tune of over $2m, and he was also claiming that she spent over $500K of his money without his knowledge, and was divorcing her. No clue why, she sounds like a keeper 🤦🏼‍♂️

@@FrenkTheJoy oh, I fully believe that would happen. I’ve seen lawyers have cases where their client is indefensible, but they had to try something so they thought of just some stupid reasoning that they could think of.
I don’t blame the lawyers, it’s their job so they can’t just sit there and be like “yeah my client did it but… maybe don’t send them to jailforthatlongforsomereason, idontknow? (voice increasing gets higher pitched and nervous)”
I once saw a lawyer defend a woman who hired a hitman to kill her husband (who was an undercover agent and the whole thing was recorded) get up to address the jury, and the defense he came up with was,
“Yes, you did see my client hire a hitman and told them exactly how she wanted it done… but you see her husband likes the mtv reality show ‘Cheaters’, so it’s OBVIOUS that he’s the guilty one and set this whole thing up to be like a reality tv star, so really my client is the victim.”
It’s stupid, but the sad thing is some people actually believed it because it was a hung jury. Luckily, she was already in jail so this is just her trying to get her verdict appealed years later, and since it landed in a hung jury, she still stayed in jail but it just meant she could come back again later to try again, which she did. Plus I experienced the loss of multiple pets (mainly due to their older ages). There’s plenty to be said for how to approach kids with the harrowing process of grief and loss.

Jesus... my dad died unexpectedly when I was young (car accident) and the anniversary is March 3rd. My mom raised 3 kids as a single mom, worked two jobs to support us. If I had heard about this story *before* she was charged in her husband's murder, I would've thought she was similar to my mom 🤮 It's just such an inhumane and horrifying story, so much malice and disregard for others, such disrespect to go on to write a book about grief...

Honestly I'm surprised I haven't seen her book as I've been researching books like this to help get my kids through the loss of their dad. How she was able to WRITE A BOOK and go on talk shows within a year is unfathomable *especially* a book about helping children cope when her children barely even had time to cope with it! I mean I could barely leave the house the whole first year after my husband died, and I'm still struggling. Its a heartache I cannot begin to describe and I cannot understand why anyone would willingly put their family through such a tragic and life changing situation (especially your own kids!) she's definitely a psychopath and honestly that just makes me feel so sad for their children..
