@@GunflintDesigns Thumbelina size...or at least that what it looked like to me ...but when you're 6'5" 260lb I guess there's alot that looks small.. LoL 😜😂
At first I was annoyed at the intro but the longer it went, the funnier it got. Loved it. Plus theres a great build following that intro... Good stuff man!
nice bed. I enjoyed the build, I need to build something to replace our ikea bed soon. Thanks for the inspiration, i might need to check out your plans.
ive been searching for a way to fix my captains bed , you called it a bed deck in this video , never heard it called that so its probably why i couldn't find any videos on it , so glad i found this , looks like strong support , with my bed did not come with and it ruined my bran new mattress , the way you built what i kept calling the platform (bed deck) looks like a great way to fix my problem ty now just to get someone to build it for me .ol lol
Very entertaining, Mark. Gorgeous piece of furniture too. And I appreciate your twist on the sign-off. Ever since i was a kid, I wondered why people on TV etc would say it the other way around. :D
What size is this bed full size Is orching or Queen what size I have one of those beds that have the tilt for the top of my head would I be able to use this frame Please come it back thank you
The deck surface that the bed sits on is 18-inches. I based that on a box-spring sitting on a factory made frame. The mattress itself is a full 2 inches thicker (12 instead of 10) than I expected, so its just a little tall. The top of the footboard is 24 inches.
Very nice but would like it with out all the storage I like to sleep with nothing under my bed at all but me and my bed not all the thing under it. Ground yourselves with just the best wood under just saying it works for me.
“Spaniel nose high.” Having had three Springers over the years, that cracked me up. I still say you never completely train a Springer, you end up being “Springer trained”.
Can you extend the side drawers to the edges of the side tables for the extra space for the inside of the drawer system, and just leave the foot drawers the same size?
Mark, where WERE YOU??? I built something functionally almost identical about 6 mos ago. Wish I had used your toolless assembly ideas! (p.s. what were those cute smallish creatures bouncing around with abandon???) - dad of 3 girlz
Your projects look great, and your video production is top-notch. However, I wish the materials lists were free, so I'd know a ballpark price to build before I bought your plans. If that were the case, I'd pay way more than $5 for the blueprints!!
Hi ya Bob, yeah i know your name isn't Bob, sorry i must tell you the truth, i started watching your videos just before you moved into your new house and like you said in one of your newer vids things had stopped sending people you new links, today 24/01/2022 i have restarted watching them again and the start of this one made me laugh, i do like it that you show the mishaps, the things fulling over and off. So the first part of my day is going to be a binge watch of your channel.
He lives.....👍👍 This is the video I was not looking forward to...you made your nest, your not coming back to Wyoming...😐 Good job on the bed though..👍👍
That is a sweet bed, but I'm not 100% sure about it as you haven't made space for some unnecessary walnut 🤔😁 Actually, yeah, I like it. I like it a LOT!! 👍👍
Let me preface this by saying I’m not trying to be “that guy” that’s mocked on WBAT, as I’m genuinely curious - are you concerned about wood movement in those panels (primarily the headboard) that you glued up and “locked” in place? Or am I missing something obvious? Me and my 7 year old daughter loved the video by the way, and she’s demanding more, so get on it! :)
Its a fair question, but you're still very likely to get talked about on the podcast! No, I'm not really concerned - but I can't really explain why. There's enough room left in those dados that it should accommodate some swelling. It wasn't the best idea to glue the panels to the cross pieces, but I didn't have much choice because there was enough bowing going on that I had to get them held together somehow. The part I can't explain is WHY I'm not concerned. By all accounts, wood movement should rip this thing apart, right? I guess I've just built enough stuff to have a feeling that it won't be a problem with this.
Can I just say how much I appreciate that this bed is normal sized.
What size beds are you used to seeing?

Your best intro yet LOL. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has to do x100 takes of an intro. Keep up the great work man.

You always struck me as a zesty sort of fellow.
Very nice!
Thanks!
Great now I have to check my rugs. Great video thank you.
lol, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Nice bed design, nice family. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
WOW! What a beautiful piece of furniture! I'm sure that someday one of your children's children will enjoy using it.
I hope so!
Nice job. It’s good to see a project video. So many woodworkers on TH-cam seem to just want to ramble on how to and tip videos.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Pretty dang nice sir.
Beautiful Job!!
Thank you so much 😀
What a great design. Good video. Good luck from the UK.

No no. Happy spouse, happy house. The husband deserves to be happy too.

Is this for full size?
It is for a queen sized mattress.
I was going to a make a comment about the whole "no tools" thumbnail, but you beat me to it in the intro. Nice job on the bed. Looks really nice.
I didn't want to be too click baity. So its true, as long as you know what I mean by 'assembly". I'm glad you like it.
Fantastic all around. Great everything, Mark!

That storage isn’t for everybody, but we don’t have enough dressers in our house, so this is perfect.

huegaiz... DREW SENT ME! :D
You happen to have a King version of the plans?
Also great looking frame.
Can you extend the side drawers to the edges of the side tables for the extra space for the inside of the drawer system, and just leave the foot drawers the same size?
You could do that, this just fit what we needed it for.
Such an amazing design Mark! How did I knew Flint would be an amazing hide and go seek finder?!
Thanks Ethan! Flint is just a top level athlete in all sports, even kids games.
how bad was cleanup in your shop with all that sprayed finish everywhere?
How much was the walnut for this project?
Honestly, I have no idea. I cut all the lumber myself from walnut trees off the family farm.
and now i know, Hi Mark
"Withstands earthquakes"... uh huh... Nice piece of furniture, you sure married out of your league ;)

I wake up every single day and miss my mountains. Still can’t believe I traded them for corn.

At least you can grow corn, in high desserts of Wyoming I can barely grow radishes....🤔🧐😜
Did you have to put gas the mattress? I bought a Nectar mattress and you had to leave it be for 24 hours before using it.
Eight.

@@GunflintDesigns sure! U are nice!
The scale in this design is strange.
How do you mean?
Dude please stop with the cheesy banter. You may appeal to the millennials but us older dudes hate it.
Disagree. I love the banter and I’m so far past the millennial age. The word wasn’t even a word until I was in my mid-thirties...
I’m not putting much effort into worrying about what older dudes OR millennials like. I’m making this stuff so that I enjoy it.
Your link is dead.
There are a lot of butts in the video.
Annoying intro.
I'm unclear as to how you only have 2 kids, if my wife and I slept in a queen sized bed we'd be halfway to a dozen by now!
Stopped watching at 45 second mark
second place is the first looser
