It would be super nice if you also added a measurement plan somewhere. I could then get the woods cut in some workshop, and myself just drill them together 😊
I wish my husband was this handy. His dad is and owned his own construction company. I’m usually the one doing the DIY projects but get delayed because we keep having babies ❤️😊.
Thanks for putting this video together. I'm curious how heavy the side drawer boxes are when bring them in. I was thinking that since you don't see the top or bottom of the side boxes, that you could replace those 3/4" panels with a rectangular frame made from 2x4's to save weight while keeping strength. The sides and divider of the frame would still be 3/4" plywood so you could attach the drawer slides to them. Then finally, I'd use 1x4 furring strips as slats that would be supported by the 2x4 frame. I figure that would also save a bit of money since almost all of your plywood is hidden behind face frames and the mattress. Any reason the frame idea wouldn't work?
That’s a super smart idea. I think that would definitely work. I know that if I ever remake this style I would do some things differently. Using 1x4s for slats is definitely on the top of my list. I appreciate the comment. 👍🏼
Hey, great video and good work ! I'm in the process of making a tailor-made plan using the same design because in addition to being French and therefore not having the same measurements, I have little space in the room to do exactly the same as you. Tell me, is it easily movable when fully assembled ? Or is it better to put a rug underneath to move it and have access to all the drawers ? aha I hope you understand the question. Thank you 😊
@@gerberdesigncoI've done that with the 3 pieces I've made for our living room. There is no way anything would have made it without being scratched up on my hardwood floors!! Beautiful work, SIR!!
I don’t I’m sorry. I just made the video. I think it was 3 sheets of 3/4” plywood 6 drawer slides About 3 or 4 1x8x10 boards for the face frames and drawer fronts. I would but bed slats instead of using 2x4s like it did. I’ve since added the bed slats and it’s way better. And 6 drawer pulls. But I would also not add those. I would cut out finger grooves instead. Save your ankles 😂😂
It was just a 1/2” piece of plywood hold each box in place. It isn’t necessary tho. I would also recommend just buying bed slats and screwing them to the rest of the bed frame.
Can I ask why you would use bed slats instead of the wooden frames? Are they not as comfortable. I want to build the same but I wanted to use the frames instead but if it's not as comfortable, then I'll just use the slat. Any advice?
Hardwood is usually sold by the board foot. So it’s the Length + the thickness off the material to ge the price. But if you go to Home Depot they sell it in linear feet. I’m sorry I don’t really know how to explain it well via text.
Good job, dude. My Wife wants me to build this now.
How is it holding up now that it’s been a few years
Thanks dude! Let me know how it goes if you do! 🤙🏼

That’s a thing?? Looking into this rn
That looks awesome and you add a few tips and tricks in there which I would have never thought about so that was helpful too!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
Beautiful job! How long have you been wood working? Beautiful job!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for showing how you made the drawers flush!!! Omg been trying to figure this out
No problem at all! I’m glad that I could help out 😃
Have you made taller ones? Or added a box spring for height? Great video btw!

Oh dang! Maybe one of these days when the kids grow up and he gets snipped yall can get it done. 🤙🏼
Sounds like he's pretty handy after all. Lol. Is this Reddit. I need to go to sleep.
Very nice job. Thanks for this video.

Thank you! It is definitely not easy to move when it’s fully assembled. I would definitely put a rug under to make it easier to move if needed.

Do you have an instructions guide and supplies list for this bed frame build?
Im looking to make this bed. 😁
I don’t I’m sorry. I just made the video. I think it was
3 sheets of 3/4” plywood
6 drawer slides
About 3 or 4 1x8x10 boards for the face frames and drawer fronts.

Thank you! 😊
I really like this frame would be able to tell us the Is exact measurements for your cut list ?
I don’t have an exact cut list I’m sorry. I just measured the size of my king mattress and made adjustments as needed.
Great video, well done
Thank you! I appreciate the watch 🤘🏼
hey man what was the piece u put in the very back where the head board at @ 7:38 time stamp

Ooo. The toe kick piece would have been👌
🤘🏻 thanks!

No real reason. This was the first time I made something like this. If I were to make it again I would probably change those things.
Trying to make something similar, thanks!
Sweet! Good luck, and have fun building! 😃
Hi Sr, how much did it cost you total
I can’t remember. I think around $500 ish
What size bed was this built for
King 👑
can you share the cut list/measurements i.e. the plywood how wide? thanks....
I’m sorry I don’t have one currently.
What do you mean by 25 board feet of 4/4 poplar in the supplies list?
Hardwood is usually sold by the board foot. So it’s the Length + the thickness off the material to ge the price. But if you go to Home Depot they sell it in linear feet. I’m sorry I don’t really know how to explain it well via text.
What are the measurements for the small front box? Or estimated measurements
It is 24" x 8" inside the box
How many drawers are there 3 or 6?
There are 6 total
What was your cost for the lumber?
I think around $400-500 ish. 3 sheets of 3/4 plywood a sheet of 1/8” plywood for the drawer bottoms and then all the trim.
@@gerberdesignco I appreciate your reply!
I appreciate you watching!
How much weight can it hold please😢
Not sure. At least 500lbs between myself my partner and our two dogs.
How much did you spend on the whole build or how much material did you use?
It cost me about $600-$800 depending on the type of wood you are using for the drawer fronts and the plywood.
I prefer if the drawer handle was engraved or not sticking out. But nice design anyways.
Fair enough! We liked the look of pulls 🤷🏼♂️
How many cost of this
It was quite a few years ago now so I can’t remember specifically. Maybe a few hundred in materials?
@@gerberdesignco can you do make for me .how many cost
Genius Tips….
Thank you! 😃
If anyone makes this can you post cut lengths for lazy asses like myself lol
