    i took some notes during this video, so here’s what I jotted down;
    tips to spend less time on phone;
    - don’t keep phone within reach of bed, keep in another room (this is legit awful)
    - INSTEAD; keep it in another room or away from my night stand
    - turn off all notifications -> I have to consciously check an app to open my phone
    - rearrange apps into different folders to alter muscle memory -> put something useful where the others are
    - put phone in drawer/ out of sight -> if someone needs you, they’ll call you.
    - change phone to greyscale
    - use headphones instead of holding phone on the phone helps to not use apps whilst talking to someone
    - can use screentime password
    - consider what you’ll use ur time for - reading etc.

    Why does this not have more likes? This video helped me so much. I'm really attached to social media and it has came to the point it is literally consuming me. I actually run a fan account for bts on instagram (hehe yes I'm army) and I love doing editing but the problem is that I barely get the time to study or focus on my family and real life friends. Plus you have to deal with all the toxic people you meet and the constant fear of losing followers and engagement really messed up my mental health. I have been thinking about deleting the account but then one part of me doesn't want to because of all the memories I have made there. I just want to permanently separate myself from it but there's a constant force pulling me back to it. This video really cleared up my mind and now I think I'm going to delete it for real because YOU is what matters. Love yourself guys 💜

    I delete instagram every 60-90 days to cleanse the mental stimulation social media oftentimes will bring. This has helped my productivity tremendously and my quality of life. Turning off notifications is something I also include- I've been doing that for years! It's kind of ironic to say, but I feel much more connected to the world when I'm not connected. :) Thank you for this amazing video.

    I deleted Instagram and Facebook and Im feeling that there is no value on life anymore. Sounds weird, because nothing there was real, no real friends, no real conections, only agressive people talking random stuff and I was spending so much time doing nothing there. Then I quit social media but I forgot how to use my free time, I felt alone and empty. These days I was spending all my day seeing random videos on TH-cam and saving pictures on Pinterest to fill that 'space' but my life was turning sad and useless. I started to feel that I wanted get back to social media to not feel só alone anymore... Omg this is so weird. I'll see more vídeos life this and do real things. I realized that I was posting and doing something to people see, not the real meaning of doing this things to me. Living my life to others, not for myself. Omg mind blowing haha

    You can not just quit social media , it is process and you have to go through it to get completely over it.
    It takes time and conscious effort but trust me when you gradually start doing it , real world seems more clearer , you start seeing your life more clearly . It is very scary but hold on to it and you will achieve everything .
    Using social media for 30 mins it was hard for me , i felt lonely , i felt that am losing contact with my friends , I am missing out on something , what will happen if I don't know anything how others are doing and what's going on with them . All these questions popped in my mind , it still does but as Jordan said replace it with something better.
    my boyfriend kept pushing me every time I achieve small goal.
    It will teach you time management also
    Hope you all succed in your journey , All the best✌️
    Thankyou Jordan for this

    This video is so good if only for the suggestion of checking how much/what you are spending your screen time on, I had a peek today and saw that I'm spending the equivalent of a full-time job using my phone a week, which might explain why I am so tired and never have enough time to do things, this was the wake up call I needed!

    The thing that introverts are more addicted to mobile phones than the extroverts, because you see most of our introverts cannot go outside and hangout with their friends or family that easily so they easily get addicted to mobile phones. On the other hand those who are extroverts can easily get attached with the outside world and can get rid off the addiction easily (varies from person to person)

    Another useful tip I found is that you can hide apps from Spotlight search on iOS.
    Go to Settings, Siri & Search, pick an app that you're trying to avoid and remove "Show app in search" checkmark.
    From now on, every time I search something, my phone does not remind me to check Twitter or Instagram :)

Thanks!

    • @retreatliving
      @retreatliving  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Julia, this is definitely a tough question! You could focus one day a week on posting/interacting on social media for your business. Then on your non-social media days don't get on it at all. You can also focus your attention more on traditional ways of advertising like sending thank you letters in the mail, word of mouth etc. I have found both to be effective, but sometimes social media just gets the best of us 😊 Thanks for watching!
