my new local dealer doesn't sell many Urals therefor i wonder how much experience they have working on the Ural. do all dealers/service people have Ural training?
We lost a dealership in Edmonton last spring. They left us high and dry and we are not amused at all. The closest to Edmonton is a days drive away in Airdrie, Alberta.
Have to ask what oil, you seem to suggest mineral in your manual but people keep telling me to put synthetic on...what do you say as the manufacturer...weirdly I have a BMW air cooled and everyone says mineral only...

Hello, I recently bought a 2015 Ural that runs and drives, good compression, good fuel pressure, good spark, but dies randomly when idling and often when riding it. It never throws an engine code. I changed the oil to find that the oil filter was bone dry with no evidence of oil ever touching the paper filter inside and no residue. Is it likely the oil pump has failed? Are there other ways I can tell? Thanks!
How do you get the 2008 paper filter out around the crossover pipe. Just did 1st oil change on barn find with 400km and had to crush the side of the old filter.
In Oregon, Portland Ural/Vespa left us high and dry with part orders. It’s about time we can get parts directly. Would be nice to have more repair shops closer than Salem. Most shops in PDX won’t touch a Ural.

Has the torque spec changed in recent years? I now own a 2013 Tourist and the owners manual for that year does not state the drain plug torque...
Out of curiosity is the IPC and maintenance manual available in a hard copy?

How many miles do you recommend using mineral engine oil before going to synthetic
