I own a 14 plate 640d gran coupe and the only problem ive had, 27:37 is with the parking sensors. There's a problem with corrosion where the loom connectors corrode and the loom needs to be replaced. And in a car that length, its a big problem, hence my car is going to the paint shop, for a bumper repaint. Other than this, i really cant fault it.
Amazing mpg for what it is, £180 a year to tax, my overall mpg is sitting at around 38 mpg. ( But i dont drive like an old man lol ! ) In my eyes it looks fairly understated but very sleek. Hands down its the best all rounder ive ever owned. Even my multimillionaire boss likes it and hes got a new RS7 Audi ! A lot of car for the cash, would definitely buy another, possibly the M6 gran coupe in blue.. stunning vehicle. Good review, thanks
Just to clarify BMW 640D 2011 from 2013 had 313 BHP, and 2014 onwards had 308 BHP. I genuinely love me 640D in Carbon Black with cream leather interior.
Owned both, 635d feels more solid to drive. 640d was nicer inside to look at but the quality felt lower, 640d was a lot better on fuel. I went from 635d to 640d then back to the facelift 635d with the newer bonnet. 635d feels more like a bmw. The 640d was amazing but very dull to drive, very good cars. I think the opposite to you and prefer the more involved drive of the older version. I’m getting 38/40 mpg motorway, with a remap running approx 340-350bhp. Currently on 228,000 miles, still going strong. Reliability issues on the 640d have put me off, so either I will keep this and buy something petrol for the weekends or change to a 3.0d panamera. Surprisingly there are hardly any recent reviews on the 3.0d Pan, especially the facelift vs the Gen 1. 250bhp vs 300bhp. That would be a very good comparison as there is not one other video on entire TH-cam showing a real world comparison.
Yeah I really want to get my hands on the diesel Panamera to review, and have considered one myself multiple times in the past
