This channel exists to document unit counters within StarCraft 2. Tya's Unit Tournament features epic battles between units in StarCraft 2, using music from the game's soundtrack. Units are chosen from Protoss, Terran and Zerg forces, or a coop commander such as Raynor, Nova, Artanis, or Kerrigan. Units will independently use their abilities, in a basic way. All units use Legacy of the Void stats, the same units you'd see in SC2 esports controlled by the likes of Serral, Maru, and ByuN. The resource beneath vespene is the unit's cost in the mod I run on the SC2 arcade, Direct Strike. Enjoy!
I'll be honest, I think this video turned out terrible and you probably shouldn't watch it. I was so close to just scrapping it and not uploading today, but figured someone might get some joy out of it.
At least we got to know that Elite Marines can beat Roaches with roughly 50% of the resources. That's kinda neat.

Not at all, I didn't know Nova's marines were so strong until this. They usually get their butts kicked in your other videos.

I enjoyed the duration of the Roach v. Marines match. The tension was palpable :)
That marine and roach fight was the most intense moment of my life. The soundtrack also helped.

That first fight was basically just Starship Troopers. ONLY GOOD BUG IS A DEAD BUG!
Interesting, a rare case of Zeratul's artifacts working against him. They pretty much gave the carriers an offbrand Blink with their push, herding them together into a deathball and letting them release all their interceptors in an overwhelming mass at once. Even though they won't have the 300 shield Barrier and the slow HP regen, I think Zeratul's immortals with only 1 artifact would do at least better than the pitiful display the 3 artifact immortals did here.
To be fair - there's no shame in anti-air unit beign owned by flier in brawl. Only Viking's attack is truely effective.
They do do damage with the knockback though.
Also the resource difference.
Pitiful? With less than half the resource investment, they destroyed 60% of the Carrier force. I'd say that was a poor showing for the Carriers, not the Immortals.

@@Llortnerof Wasn't paying attention to the numbers, you're correct, that wasn't as big a stomp as it seemed. I still think 1 artifact immortals would have done better, if not outright won.

the marine from the brood war cinematic ran out of bullets so quickly, imagine how many bullets these marines used.

In fact, the scene in Starcreafs S5E13 where Nova's marines fly off on catapults and then wield Colossus to attack Carriers and DeathBall is not Carbot's exaggeration.
Ikr. Also Nova delivering a TON of minerals by a liftruck and the hybrid getting wiped out of existence by a marauder flexing at him😂!
That episode is one of my favourites in my favourite series!
In hindsight, Roaches aren't really as resilient as their namesakes 😅
Roaches in real life are a menace. I can’t really blame them.

@@얼굴없는배후자Abathur will assimilate the roaches into the Swarm and make the Zerg roaches invincible (maybe he already did this and that's why his roaches can have like 580 HP and 15 armor in coop).
Without borrowing to utilise their rapid regeneration, their power is cut in half.
My predictions:
- E. Marines (Damn, I knew they were powerful but to rip though this many roaches while being this outnumbered and still have it be close? Almost looked like starship troopers for a sec)
- Immortals (Can't vote against the immortals here)
- Ultralisks (expected the ultras to mow through the ghosts with their aoe)
- Immortals (harder call but I thought the immortals were a good bet here)
If the Ghosts don't use Snipe, Ultras win. but spells are allowed so Ultras lose
There are few certainties in SC2 - Stalkers, Immortals and Marines are awesome, Ultras and Roaches are horrible. A Roach/Immortal/Marine vs Stalkers/Ultras would be a very interesting fight.
Goddamn either Nova's Marines are op af or Roaches suck....maybe it's a bit of both xD. 3/4. The Roaches let me down 😞

Damn, Zera's Enforcers didn't win a single fight, but everytime they fight, they put an amazing display, leaving whatever left from an overwhelming force on 1 hp.
They won plenty of fights, they only lost a handful of times

Very first one was the heart of the swarm opening cinematic music I think, the second was the Heroes of the Storm Volskaya factory level 20 theme, 3rd one was the HotS cursed hollow theme.

That first fight was crazy.
Called the ghost versus ultras one, that was just way too many snipes, and the knockback may have made it even better because it staggered the snipes instead of blowing them all on the same target.

the first battle wasnt fair, the marines did the unlimited ammo glitch and didnt even have to reload
I’m disturbed by the implication that a single one of Nova’s marines can take kill 3 roaches
They can't. Nova's marines have a lot of range (6, to be exact) due to the laser targeting upgrade, which means more of them can attack at once compared to the 4 range roaches, so they benefit more from numbers. A single elite marine vs. 3 roaches would die without even killing a single roach.
Well, they have 3 times the health, 3 more base damage compared to regular marine, and a stim that heals them over time.
It's a marine on super roids!
When a battle lasted 1/2 the entire video, you know that you have witnessed an epic.
The other 3 was really meh in comparison.

4/4 guessing game was strong today
The question is, does concave beat convex? If one ask a StarCraft commentator they would say: "yes of course it does" then show them the first fight when a convex of marines beat a concave of a thousand roaches.
Convex of marines.
But you have to remember, those aren't just any marines, those are Elite marines. Marauder levels of HP. 9 base damage, up to i think 11 or 12 with upgrades, stimpack heals them. +1 range. They make regular 3/3 Mariens look pathetic.

I am surprised because I am not strong in units out of the ladder.
I am starting to suspect there is a limit for the number of AI controlled units. The roaches derped a lot.
The thing is, none of these units are ai controlled, they are most likely just attack moved towards the enemy.
Also why a group of marines sat there for a few seconds after they kill the roaches, because the thing that tells them to attack move towards the enemy position only triggers like once every 3-5 seconds.
Someone have the name of the music pls ?

Marines with Super Stim are the ultimate GOAT.
Immortals shred armored and are a army killer when in massive numbers. AOE from Collosi means NOTHING.
Ghost got range and snipe... do I need to say more?
And Carriers in massive numbers SHRED basially anything cause of how damaging the interceptors are.
Like I said, easiest 4/4 Tya has ever posted.

As much as I enjoy these videos (and I do enjoy them) I think the thing they do best is accidentally show off how terrible this game's pathfinding is lol
