The doctors don't know how much time I have left, but I truly hope to meet this young Lady before I meet my maker. God bless Yoyoka and her Family! You make this dark world so much brighter with your joy and positivity! Watching her play with such joy is infectious, I can't help but smile when I watch her videos! Shido is so cute and funny too, what an amazing Family. You make the world a better place with your music! Thank you so much!

    The word "sparkle" in Japanese is kagayaku (輝く), but it often refers to what we'd call in English "shining" when describing a person. Like, "This is your time to shine." With the song being played for a soccer team and generally seeming to be about success after tribulations, I'm guessing the intended sense is about the glory of earned success.

    Golden. Absolutely Golden. I have followed Yoyoka from the very HAPPY...HAPPY...HAPPY beginning. I too encouraged my son...Johan..aka Yoyo...to embark on a musical career...to include drums...ukulele...trumpet...bass...violin...trombone...clarinet...piano...to name a few. He was about 3 when he started playing music. So I see a thread. Fast forward...my son is now in Sweden...playing drums. Life is good. Music is good. • @ThePallidor
      @ThePallidor 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@oskisnutz Most definitely. It's also the genre that most influenced the Final Fantasy series (1 through 9 at least), especially the battle themes. Her more off-the-wall tendencies fit with it perfectly. I think she needs a genre that is that unrestrictive (not that she'll even be bound by whatever the confines of the prog rock genre are, necessarily).

    • @ThePallidor
      @ThePallidor 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      For those that aren't aware, she did the drums for most of FF battle themes in the official Pixel Remaster releases, and those soundtracks have recently become available. All the battle themes are arguably prog rock, or at least rock rhythm section with rock and/or classical instrumented melody.

    I have been watching Yoyoka since the Vimeo video came out. What I loved about this was that you can see she has incorporated everything she has been developing over the years, right down to the double single-foot Bonham style peddle work she performed back on the first Zeppelin video. Even down to using the Marimba Ellen De. gifted her. LOL. She brought everything together on this piece. All of her skills and precision. Love it. Can't wait for more from her. I'm an audio engineer who has been in the biz for 30 years, and she is one of my favorite drummers ever, and her age is something I don't think about. Her pocket playing is always flawless and so tasty. My opinion has meaning, having worked with many hundreds of drummers over the decades from around the world in all genres. I am also pleased that Sadaharu, Ayumi & Akifumi didn't use drum replacement on the drum tracks, which is so common these days in mixing. It would have taken away from Yoyoka's dynamic capabilities and performance. Thanks for that.

      Drum replacement? What is that?
      Anyways I love the quality of the home recorded covers, they seem very well balanced and produced. I hope there will be more "drums only" versions also, again, recorded so clean.

    • @ThetaMediaGroup
      @ThetaMediaGroup หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sms95501 Drum Replacement is where one or more recorded drums from the original drummer's performance are replaced with sampled drums, ostensibly to get a better overall drum sound. If the drums are performed and recorded well, replacement isn't needed. Witness all the music that's come before the digital era. But of late, DR is a fix-it-in-the-mix technique to "improve" the drum part. I'm the founder and chief engineer/producer at Theta Sound Studio in Burbank, California. Glad to say I either create virtual drums from scratch using drum VST instruments, or I record live drummers and keep all the live drums. There's a time and a place and a budget for both.

      Yoyoka has already maxxed out that skill tree. Time to work on her composing/arranging. Maybe work on some projects where she works with some people long enough to get together a gig setlist or album of originals. She's already good enough to be a session drummer and her TH-cam on it's own probably earns her more money than what a mid-ranking band drummer would make. it's that next step to stardom that's the tricky one. Lots of randoms involved and pure talent is not enough to get you famous or critically acclaimed. There's a large amount of luck involved, even for the best musicians.
      Having said that, getting a team of young people together with a focus would be her next best step. There are plenty of young people in more experimental alt-rock out there. I can really imagine her being great in a Japanese version of something like a drum centred version of the Nova Twins. Plenty of chances to rock out and be virtuoso to young people instead of old.
      Working with all these older amazing musicians and her family is the best schooling she could possibly get but at some point, she needs to get out and do it herself with a bunch of mates. Yoyoka is still very young so there's plenty of time but that's when we'll see her real talent come out.

    What an amazing song. Every musician shines.
    Add a little bit of Spyro Gyra, Dixie Dregs, Mike Oldfield, RUSH and the uniqueness of Yoyoka and you get a band who is going very, very far.

    Yoyoka chan, you have surpassed yourself, when progressiv rock was the thing of the twenty some year old musicians back in the 60s and 70s! I knew you can play this genre but I never imagined you'd touch it as your theme. How much you have caught everybody off guard and rocked the wits out of us! Congratulations to this masterfully executed piece of exquisite taste of music, which definitely has put me acutely on que for more of your work to come. Greetings from Canada!
    Yoyoka chan=power drummer!

    ギターがかっこいいこともあって、最近だとキングクリムゾンを彷彿とさせる演奏やね!
    ヨヨカちゃんのドラミング、身体が小さい分、スティックが長くてストロークも大きいから、デカいおっさんドラマーよりもダイナミックに見えるんだよな〜。
    残像のせいかスティックがムチみたいにしなって見えることがよくあって、なんかドラムモンスターをビシビシしばいてる感じがめっちゃカッコいいわ。

    WOW!WOW!WOW! Yoyoka has displayed the ultimate in professionalism, charm, World Class Technical Expertise, Presence, Calm non-boasting Confidence, in a performance of unparalleled artistic rendering of physical and sports competition with one's self, is just incredibly fantastic and brings the inspirational to unknown heights, it's breath taking, and leaves you in Awe, of what it truly means to succeed personally, across all advantages, luck, skill, timing and perseverance along with the superlative visuals of the players but most of all Yoyoka in dynamic relation to that gorgeous drum set as if she transported us effortlessly to Heaven!!! I have never felt my initial reaction at this level and I sat on the 12th row Center Stage for Led Zeppelin in the 1970's for My favorite band. And Yoyoka just exceeded that Wow! Me. On my super resolution Samsung! WOW!

    Way surpassed expectations! It sounds alot more mature, and the emotions of the video really shines through. But it's also great (like Senri Kawaguchis songs) in that it highlights the drums without drowning everything else out.
    Very good job indeed!! 👍🏻👍🏻

    Super cool to hear your style and it's quite unique, I hear parts of Rush in the shifting time signatures and guitar riffs, some John Bonham style caveman fills and some blast beat metal, all fused together.
    It's pretty awesome really, this song felt like the musical grandchild of YYZ.
