Mr Ian Paice, Thank you for the music, I have always been in awe of your musical talent, and enjoy watching your reactions, insights and the sharing of your incredible knowledge and experience with the wider musical community, whether they be professionals or beginners. I myself could never aspire to be a drummer, (I have hands that are the equivalent of a dancers two left feet), so i will be a professional listener and enjoyer of drumming. Yoyoka, well done!!! To you both, Thank you and Happy New Year!!!

Imagine that 11 year old girl in your spot at 1974 Calfornia Jam.! Wow, she's unbelievable and I'm sure she'll love the fact that have taken the time to watch her.
One of the greatest things about seeing these young kids playing some of the most classic tracks ever is the knowledge that this music still exists, it's still relevant, and it will live on forever! Long live Ian Paice, long live Deep Purple, long live ROCK AND ROLL!
I don't know who was having more fun, Yoyoka, or Ian watching this. Ian is a real class act, many artists would block the video, be offended someone covered their material, etc. But he seems genuinely chuffed and happily humble.
It's because she is completely self taught by ear. She has only started to learn how to read music recently. She doesn't copy the song 1:1 and adds her flavor to it. Also she learns the songs she plays on youtube usually in 1-3 hours by ear and plays it in one take. I'm glad she is now recognized by her talent and not just being a cute kid who can play the drums.
I not only smiled, but I got a little misty eyed when you started speaking about her. Luv you Mr. Paice, I 1st learned of you around that age (11) on a PBS tv show called Rock School, in the states. You talked about playing drums was like dancing. It was at the beginning of my musical journey back then and you were cool then and you are still just as cool. Thanx so much for sharing on TH-cam.
Wait till I tell Yoyoka that Ian Paice wants to meet her!! I'll wait till her dad gives a 48-hour notice of an upcoming upload and write it to him in Japanese. They usually read the first 20 or so comments. Yoyoka's work up until now has been nothing short of epic and genius, but that video there will be a groundbreaking turning point for her on the world stage. The sheer speed and precision....a whole new level.

That was amazing ... known Yoyoka for a while now, true force of nature. And to hear the great gentleman Ian Paice say these kind words. Yoyoka will be over the moon, I’m sure.
Thank you Mr. Paice, I’ve been a huge fan of yours for over 40 years, and a huge fan of Yoyoka for about a year now - hope you get to meet her in person one day!
Yoyoka and her family are now in the United States. It would mean everything to her, and I'm sure to all your fans who follow you as well. I believe she is now living in Los Angeles, CA.
I'd forgotten how frenetic the drums in this are. Haven't heard it for about twenty years. Ian Paice, just like the other members of Deep Purple, is an amazing musician & this track is a great legacy in itself. Yoyoka mastered it with her usual, apparent effortlessness & deserves all the praise she receives from Ian.
What might be overlooked here is how well she keeps time by opening/closing the hi-hat. While obviously often done by any drummer, during a workout like this I find it really quite cool. She has a lot going on and while she doesn't have it going all the time, when she does you would think she was a jazz pro. She does everything so smoothly that this is yet another detail in which she shows an exquisite mastery.
He’s literally tearing up. Amazing and ya quite unbelievable for 11 years of age. Must be something they put in the food these days. LOLs. That can’t be good.... Imagine another 5 years from now what she will be able to do. I think I heard that her parents are professional musicians. She was born into musical performance genius. Amazing how hard she nails those drums. Sticks way above her head. That takes absolute fitness. Thanks for doing this reaction Ian. She really does bring tears to ones eyes. Mind numbing good and fast...
"The best thing is, she's having fun." Exactly! I've been following young Yoyoka for the past few years now on TH-cam. Not long after I initially learned of her, my reactions were similar to Ian's but more animated (they still are). I'd be watching her play the drums via my laptop with headphones plugged in - smiling, giggling, even laughing at times. All due to the enjoyment found in watching such a talented young person doing something they were born to do, but more importantly, truly enjoying doing so. That's the beauty of it in my mind. My wife would look over at me and get tickled. Then she'd ask "Are you watching the little drummer girl again?"
This is why musicians are immortal. Long after we’re done and gone, the music, the legacy and most importantly... the inspiration for other’s to pick up sticks, a guitar, whatever, will survive. And there we are. Alive again in someone else’s world.

The fact is that people are still listening, enjoying and playing to music he performed over 30 years ago is a testament to his talent and deep purple.
1:20 Those triplets!! Ian Paice, one of the most loud and intense drummers, watching a cover of one of his most demanding drum tracks, after which he comments with the softest voice "You clever wee thing, you!" Love it! Every time I watch one if Ians videos, I remember how we listened to Machine Head, In Rock, Made In Japan and Burn back in the days (and all the other stuff that was going down). Those were great years to grow up in and my foundation for a life of music. Thanks to Ian for being a part of that! And keep that thing burning, Yoyoko!
When the original artist says you nailed it that must be a rush like no other. I originally asked her to do Space Trucking, but she did Burn. Wow, what talent!
I'm very glad that Ian Paice mentioned her performance to not only drumming skills, but also having fun. I'd like to watch Ian perform drums with Yoyoka.
7:36 "She's a frightening player already." This is the stamp of approval fans have been looking for. We are all music geeks, techs, drummers, industry people and all of us were pointing to her and yelling: "Mozart. She's a Percussive Genius." Well, now everyone in the drummer and musician community worldwide knows. Immense opportunities and potentials await. Fantastic music to be made. Going to be beautiful to watch.
You should be so proud...it´s almost 50 years since the record and today a young generation is covering you...you have made history...✌️ And Yoyoka is fantastic...❤️
I have been a huge Ian Paice fan since the early 70's. When I saw Yoyoka's Burn cover pop up in my YT feed,I thought if she nails this, she is at a new level. She has done great Bonham and Peart covers, but this one was the master test.99% from Mr.Paice is just about as good as you could wish for. There are pro drummers in many big recording/touring bands that could not pull off what this 11 year old just did.

A very humble human is Mr Ian Paice. Loved his coolness on stage wearing a dark sun glasses and ocasstionally sticking his tounge out and playing aggressive Drumming over years. An abaoulte polite and frank person is Mr Ian Paice.
I'm 48 and started being interested in drums when I was 4 years old through hearing Deep Purple In Rock and have since tried to approach drums the same way you do Ian, Deep Purple is my life and drumming is my life, I got to a level where I was good enough to play Newcastle City Hall which I did in 2003, best day and night of my life, seeing someone so young playing like that is inspiring and gives me hope for the future of music and drumming, God Bless her and God bless you Ian, I also made kits out of biscuit tins, buckets and broken bike wheels for cymbals when I was a kid lol, loved this video so much, brilliant : )
I smiled all the way watching Yoyoka's cover, then smiled harder watching this. Sir Ian is a living legend and he's so humble. PS. when I read Yoyoka's comment and Sir Ian's answer, I smiled even harder my cheek ached.
Shame it’s neither the US or U.K. who no longer carry the torch for rock. Ut has all but died in those two countries, and we have to look elsewhere to carry it forward. Hopefully this girl is a sign of things to come
Ian - I’m so happy you saw this great kid play. She’s no parrot - she’s the real deal - very musical and she plays in the pocket like few pros can and makes a great sound. I want her to be part of a great young rock group. Ian - you make me smile - one of the great drummers - and this girl I hope will be a great one too. I show respect for Sir Paicey.
Thank you for seeing yoyo's play.
When the original artist says you nailed it that must be a rush like no other. I originally asked her to do Space Trucking, but she did Burn. Wow, what talent!
Space trucking, I need to revisit some DP
I'm very glad that Ian Paice mentioned her performance to not only drumming skills, but also having fun. I'd like to watch Ian perform drums with Yoyoka.

"She's a frightening player already."
This is the stamp of approval fans have been looking for.
We are all music geeks, techs, drummers, industry people and all of us were pointing to her and yelling:
"Mozart. She's a Percussive Genius."
Well, now everyone in the drummer and musician community worldwide knows.
Immense opportunities and potentials await.
Fantastic music to be made.
Going to be beautiful to watch.
I wish more artists would react to other people paying homage to their songs. Well done, Mr Paice!

Well and appreciatively said Danny!
🤗😎👍🏻🙌🏻
Too many of them are too busy blocking them.
You should be so proud...it´s almost 50 years since the record and today a young generation is covering you...you have made history...✌️
And Yoyoka is fantastic...❤️
Saw her play this couple days ago and was thinking Ian must see this! Gladly you did!
A true legend reacting to a very probable future legend playing his music. How special is that. This warmed my heart ❤
This young lady never fails to put a smile on my face and that is especially needed in these worrying times. Sheer joy for me and her! 😁
For you man , tribute to mr.Ian Paice : th-cam.com/video/9EoyirRQ-C8/w-d-xo.html ,in my ear ,this Burn cover close to Ian Paice note: th-cam.com/video/3PBDf-VuTks/w-d-xo.html , respect to sir #IanPaice #Burn #DeepPurple
Yoyoka has a big heart Ian. I am a huge fan, I have been watching her from her age 7. Technique, stamina and strength have grown. She is a force of nature....
Now I'm sure ROCK N ROLL WILL LIVE FOREVER ! SALUTE TO MR. IAN PAICE ,ONE OF THE GREATEST THUNDER GODS !!! WISH TO SEE YOU PLAY TOGETHER !!!
Yes Ian i have followed her for about 4 years. Thanks for your feedback. Yoyoka is a force of nature.
*5:45**...*
*The moment that Ian Paice himself air-drums to you playing his own composition...*
*YOU GO GIRL!!!*
I smiled all the way watching Yoyoka's cover, then smiled harder watching this. Sir Ian is a living legend and he's so humble.
PS. when I read Yoyoka's comment and Sir Ian's answer, I smiled even harder my cheek ached.
Oh my gosh...same!
OMG!!!!!
Ian said “this young lady is special”
Yoyoka, I’m proud of you sooooo much!!!!!!
よよかちゃん、すごい‼️
イアンペイスご本人から‼︎
何にもしてないですけど、やけにうれしいです😂
Thanks for watching her play . we love yoyoka . shes getting better all the time
Ian Paice, what a class act you are! Thank you.
Ian Paice - the reason that I've been a drummer for the past 50 years.
Mr. Paice glad that they are young bloods continuing rock and roll👍👍👍
Shame it’s neither the US or U.K. who no longer carry the torch for rock. Ut has all but died in those two countries, and we have to look elsewhere to carry it forward. Hopefully this girl is a sign of things to come
"Best thing is, she's having fun!"
I watch your clinics, lessons etc - you’re a cool, humble dude - thank you for your music!!!
Thanks Ian for encouraging young people to practice and play. It must be awesome to have a famous Rock Star watch you play.
I love the compliments from one awesome drummer to another
Just by looking at how Ian is smiling made my day. MKIII
She rocks !!! Yes she is special . Ridiculous talent. Good stuff
