This live unrehearsed performance as well as her live practice stream over the weekend absolutely mind blowing stuff🤯the growth in Yoyoka’s playing in less than two years is astounding, not sure I’ve ever seen anything like it
This is astounding. She looks like she's been playing this every night with this band for ages, and yet they did it with no rehearsal. Wow. This is why Yoyoka will be very highly sought after - she masters the track in very little time, she is extremely consistent and yet can improvise when called for, and she will show up sober and on time lol. Those last two points are actually more important to some top-level producers than the rest in fact, as a friend of mine told me when he went to Las Vegas to do session and live work.
Made me remember an anecdote I read somewhere or other. In LA in the 80's and early 90s, certain hard rock/hair metal bands weren't able to actually play well enough to record. They would show up to the studio drunk or high, fight amongst themselves, and refuse to play more than a few takes. They also had obvious ego issues. So, after the band would leave, the producers would have this guy called The Technician or The Mechanic or something like that come in and re-record each track. For every instrument. He'd nail it first take. So many classic LA hard rock songs from various bands are all played secretly by this one dude. I have no idea if it's true, but it sounds plausible.
It is! She is light years above many professionals that have to do a dozen takes to get it just right. When she came to Las Vegas, I was with her when she did the recording session for Led Zeppelin's "The Ocean" with "EllenPlaysBass" (Ellen Alaverdyan) and two other local musicians. She had just met Ellen a couple hours before in Ellen's studio. They just toured the studio, no practice or playing, went to get an ice cream, then we drove over to the studio. YOYOKA and Ellen walk in, not in the least bit nervous, the other two were practicing, and a bit nervous. YOYOKA is now meeting them for the first time at that moment, YOYOKA tunes her kit, Ellen, tunes her bass, they do the sound checks with the engineer, and without playing or practicing it a single time, they nail it on the first take. Was simply amazing to watch our little pro in action!
Some people have sheer talent and some people have great intellect and some people have a great work ethic and an ability to concentrate on what is important and some have a strong support system that gives them love and guidance. Yoyoka and Ellen are those kind of people.
@@NonEuclideanTacoCannon I would not doubt it in the slightest. There was also supposedly a guy who made a great living writing songs in the style of major bands who had long since lost the ability to come up with originals on their own.
