Any suggestions where this fits into the canon? Great movie though!
The fact that Disney practically stole the image of the star destroyer falling past Cloud city in the new Star Wars sequels, just goes to show how cool an idea it truly was.
super sick great work.
what sup Star Wars Theory
Well Hello There
@@fvt2627 Should I even- fine. General Kenobi!
Indeed
What gets me, when you find a wee little gem such as this, is how fan films today are producing special effects that rival good movies of just a few years ago.
And whilst I'm at it, nice to see non-cringeworthy dialogue and acting that plagues some fan films. Great job! :)
I share that sentiment. I am always amazed at the tools that are now available to Joe and Jane Average Film Maker to make such visually stunning fan-films (and originals).
Yesterday I have seen Rise of Skywalker and... Yes... You know...
There's a tribute for you.
That's lovely. You have to be soooooo proud.
What was the tribute?
@@ParalyzedTortoise there is an image of a imperial destroyer falling besides Bespin as the same here.
We have now reached a point in time when the fans make better stories than the actual Star Wars producers
Fan content is made from a place of love for Star Wars. Lucasfilm content is made from a place of "give us your money". This one distinction makes all the difference in the world.
@@gilmadreth680 *Disney-Lucasfilm...
@@baghira2761 you are correct, I was speaking of Lucasfilm in its current incarnation
TbH it’s been that way since before the prequels.
@@gilmadreth680 do you realy think Lucas as an interest in the fan production and the lot of comics that create a world with each of the vision of the fan... at least the sequel were lazy but logical. In the lengend canon luke can move multiple black hole... the sequel are bad realised but there is some potential
This is absolutely incredible! Very cinematic. That shot at 4:04 looks like something out of a Hollywood Blockbuster; you really get the sense of scale with the tiny X-Wing in the foreground, facing off against the might of the Empire. You guys also did an incredible job with the sound design, having slightly different X-wing engine noises when it cuts back and forth between the inside of different X-wing cockpits. I love that attention to detail.
There are so many Star Wars fanfilms poping up in my recommended and I can't complain at all.
Amazing work
Gosh, the shot of the star destroyer's silhouette flashing in the clouds due to the lightning is easily one of the best shots I've seen so far in both canon and fanmade combined.
2:52 for a brief moment, you see a destroyer
4:16 I like that little look away, as if he’s blinded by the explosion, like Lando in RotJ
Holy shit just found this. This is really well made! The CG actually looks good and the writing? Some likable characters, that are well acted, some believable banter that doesn't feel forced? Damn. Huge props to the team.
It's not easy to get an audience to like a cast of characters in just a few minutes of screen time, and it's definitely not easy to generate suspense for a tense moment you've barely spent a minute building up to. I don't even know how you did it, just that I loved every moment of this fan film.
Congratulations to everyone involved in making this authentic, true to the originals and excellent film. For a few minutes I was genuinely submerged into that galaxy far far away. Thank you.
Really really impressive. Unlike most fan films, the acting was pretty decent too.
Pretty decent is what I always strive for :-p haha!
But seriously, glad you dug it
I did! Any plans for more of these in the future?
benbegleycomedy Ben, you Andrea and Keith are pros. The ad libs, chemistry, comedic timing were awesome. You're a great actor!
"No. I'm not doing that." Had me in stiches, amazing work.
_When YT recommended brings you a gem of a video_
"For the Rebellion, a victory. For the Empire, a defeat. For the citizens of Cloud City, an average Tuesday."
Excellent work. Looking forward to more from you.
I actually thought it was a lost clip or something! I really enjoyed that! Whoever you all are, fantastic job all around!
ありがとうございます!
Came here from the X-Wing fan film and ultimately from Corridor Crew. These fan projects are mind blowing. Well done!
LMAO, same journey I took to get here too.
The sight of that ship going past the city sent a chill down me. Well done.
I was thinking 'ohshitohshitohshit'
The visual effects are SUPERB for any Star Wars fan film ive seen yet!
5 years later and this is still better than anything Disney has created,
so so true
Movie wise, yes, absolutely. But series wise, I thought Mandalorian and Ashoka were both actually quite good. Goes to show what happens when you put someone who actually gives two craps about the franchise in charge of a project...
7 💪
Once again Fan Films doing a superior job to any big budget film bravo!
Interesting choice of squadron. For those of you unfamiliar, Wraith Squadron was personally formed by Commander Antilles. He'd noted that the Rogues were operating as a fighter squadron with commando skills. He felt they needed a squadron of good space combat skills that could primarily work as a commando unit. Hence why one of the pilots knew exactly where to take down a Star Destroyer BESIDES taking out the shield generators on the bridge
This was a good one. It had a really good "original trilogy" feel to it in terms of the dialogue and cinematography. The use of models instead of CGI for many of the shots was a nice touch.
Still one of the best fan films graphically and script-wise. Great acting, too. Always nice to rewatch this gem.
I agree!
Okay, the graphics are good but that bit halfway through where they explain "the plan" genuinely made me laugh out loud. The delivery of our male lead's line was freaking PERFECT.
Amazing effects and characters, great fan film! One thing though: I find it strange that none of the ISD's many turbolaser cannons didn't fire on them...
*when a fan film gets the punchline at just the right moment*
Me: *visible confusion* "This has never happened before..."
RIP Star Destroyer crew as they die a painful death as the gas pressure crushes them as they fall deeper into the gas giant...
Don't need millions to tell a good story. This was a lot of fun.
That was actually some of the best SFX I've seen in a fan movie. Good job!
Well written, well acted. Great effects, really solid direction. Some absolutely beautiful shots. That opening shot is worth of being in an official Star Wars movie -just jaw-dropping.
I was amazed with this fan film, it really is a fantastic production, extraordinary effects.
I think this is the best fan film production I've ever seen. I felt like I was seeing a genuine Disney made Star Wars movie. Nice!
Don't insult this fine product like that! Hehe!
@facingthesun Star wars theory had like a $200,000 budget. Idk how much this film had but its not that steep forsure
Holy crap guys, as one of not many "Non Jedi" fan films this is spectacular. The sound effects were spot on and the visuals were amazing. I agree with everyone else. I'd watch a movies of this alone.
This was the best fan film I've seen for a long time.
Love this! Simple and short, full of action, the classic cheesy star wars dialogue and brilliant sound mixing! Great work
2:51 the lightning through the clouds outlining the SD was nice. Bravo
When 6 some odd minutes of a Star Wars fan film makes infinitely more sense than three hours of DisneyWars.
Make that 6+ hours
When some idiot loves to beat the dead horse.
The scene at 4:30 is incredible. Imagine you were there and a huge spaceship falls past you.
DAMN THESE EFFECTS!
finally a fan film with no choppy space effects
Inventive, and well crafted short story. Nice CGI scene placement too.
It was Interesting. Video released 2017 and I just found it in 2022. Thank you for the hard work.
same
The cinematography of the star destroyer falling right beside Cloud City literally took my breath away. Great job on the visuals, they were unbelievable
This wasn't what I was expecting!
LIKED AND SUBBED! :D
One of the helmets is so ridiculously small.
I also didn't like the fact that all the X-wings go to hyperspace exactly at the same time. The rest is...gold!!!
Amazing job.
Well done! The lighting was spot on in almost all of your shots! The cockpit shots where completely beliveable that you where actually in the fighters. I love the different views of the Star Destroyer as well!
Most of the time you just have to smile through fan films remembering that they are just that- fans without a ton of skill or budget. This, however, was waaay different. Loved the cinematography, the visuals, and the script and acting was pretty believable. If Disney was to fire the current SW team and have y’all on, then I’d actually watch the new SW films in theaters. KEEP IT UP! 💪🏻
It's too late. Everyone knew time was ticking.
Disney has one shot and they screwed up.
This is more of a reason to make a new sci-fi IP.
Phill I don’t know about too late with all the shows and side movies coming up, but you’re right, they definitely ruined SW 7-9.
@@VlogCity The whole thing is just a joke to me now. I can appreciate the orginal films. The prequels has some good moments. But I can't stand the new ones.
You've got to remember that starwars was envisioned as a merchandising cash grab. Its how George Lukas made his billions and funned the films. It was always going to end this way. Especially under Disney. Who can't even understand their own damn Disney Princess branding..
Thank you SO much for keeping the language clean! This was very well made, with awesome touches like the flash that revealed the silhouette of the destroyer. Well done!
I love the old-school "Star Wars" expletives like: "Blast!"
It's not that often I see freaking awesome Star Wars fan films but this is just amazing! Incredibly well done!
CGI was amazing, and as short as the story is it sure made up for it with being....... AMAZING
No, an we stop and appreciate how good this was?
The characters felt real, with a real history and relationship.
The whole thing was stunning to listen to and watch.
The actors weren't clunky and inexperienced like so many fan-film actors are.
And that last line puts this in a plausible "canon" explanation. (We've just never heard of it because nobody believes it)
For a 6 minute short film, this was incredible. Do more! :D
No really Arya...I'm watching some of your other films now and they're great.
Tim Weiner thank you for the kind words! Arya really brings contagious passion to film and considers all the feedback and encouragement.
It's come to something when normal Star Wars fans are able to make better short movies than the big movie companies in existence
It's refreshing to see a Star Wars fan film set in space, with such great effects, rather than a few kids running around in their backyard, wearing Halloween costumes and swinging Toys "R" Us lightsabers!
For a fan made film that was some bloody amazing acting seriously good chemistry well written lines , great cgi how about we sign you up for the next star wars film . good shit .
This was amazing, good job guys!
Kudos to everyone who worked on the film.
After watching the great quality of these fan short films I cannot believe the last jedi and the force awakens were made... I just can't...
Never underestimate the humble T-65 X-Wing. Those things will f*ck you up.
They have plot armor that's hard to penetrate.
Gimme a Lancer-Frigate and I'll have no problem with these! Even Wedge Antilles, who's just about the Rebell Starfighter Ace (not counting Luke, who's a Jedi, not a regular dude!), feared them for a reason!
Whoever you are thank you that was pretty intense for short film and it was totally awesome gave me chills
Anyone else catch the squadron name ONLY Wraith Squadron could pull off something as screwy as THIS!!!
WELL DONE!!!
Love this. Love the realism. 3:10... "No...i'm not doing that..." lol.
How friggin’ terrifying must it have felt to be a stormtrooper on that Destroyer. Gee whiz.
Great job.
I think when people think of Star Wars fan-films, they immediately think of Storm Trooper or Jedi adaptations. Rarely have i seen a Dog Fight oriented Space Battle Fan film done THIS WELL.
BRAVA !
This needs to get more attention! This fan film is probably one of the best I have ever seen!
I agree entirely.
Agreed!
Thank you so much for making a fan film that's actually really really good and not based in some forest or beach or desert. That was getting too stereotyped for a fan film.
Anyone who knows more such films, can you please give the link? I'm looking myself for such films. Truly amazing.
IMPS Relentless still one of THE BEST SW Fanfilms 10 years later.
Can you imagine being the imperials on that destroyer? What a horrible death. Must of been pure terror for them. May they rest in peace.
This is still one of our favorite fan films. Effects are amazing, and a simple but impactful story. Top notch.
I still sit in awe at the production of some these fan films. Even the small details like the cut of microphone ambience when the camera cut from pilot to pilot mid-conversation... The playlist grows
Fantastic production quality for a fan film, I'd love to see a behind the scenes or 'making of' for this!
Arya Moghaddam great!
This was great! Well done! I
Well, fancy seeing you here.
Arya Moghaddam they need to hire you guys to make a live action rouge squadron series. I'd love it having played the games as a kid
the fact that when the lightning flashed you saw the outline of the star destroyer was amazing!!!
It reminded me of Solo a Star Wars story.
That was epic! I don't know many hours of work went into making this, but you all deserve some serious applause.
Incredible. Fan films are really raising the bar. Too bad Disney doesn't appreciate it
Now thats a Star Wars story movie I would love to see. A story about the pilots.
What a talented bunch of people that put this together! I tip my hat to all involved. This was excellent. I am a new fan. Keep up the great work!
Seeing fan made videos like this makes me feel like I'm actually seeing battles from the post trilogy novels. Like the Black Fleet Crisis. I would love to see a fan video on Lando and his droid companions figure out what the Vagabond's true purpose was.
Thanks!
The acting in this is noticeably better than many fan films I’ve seen on TH-cam
SO SO SO SO SO SO SOOOOO GOOD!!! Awesome work team, Andrea you are amazing :) May the Fourth be with you all today
That topped anything Disney could dream of
Great work! I enjoyed this more than all of the sequels put together.
Wow, that was great. Kept me on the edge of my seat when the Destroyer was headed towards Bespin.
Yes, true art and creativity, THANK YOU FOR ADDING THIS TO THE TH-cam COMMUNITY!!!!
That was awesome. Honestly better than some of the fights in the actual movies.
Anyone else notice the Star Destroyer lightning flash at 2:53?
How is it that everyone else can make kick ass star wars fan fiction films, but Disney can make a movie that good? Wtf. This had me on the edge of my seat. Keep it up.
I gree
It took seconds into this video to become totally invested in these characters! Disney still hasn't managed that in multiple films and shows! The action here is off the scale exciting and a relatively miniscule budget does nothing to distract. I would watch this on TV without hesitation. I'm running out of words to describe how impressive this is. Not ashamed to admit I have a little something in my eye. Outstanding work!! 👏👏🚀🧑🚀🎬
In the TRADITION and SPIRIT of Star Wars....you guys nailed it!!!
Totally!
Amazing!! Superbly done!
DAMN! DAMN! DAMN! When "FAN FILMS" become AS EXCITING or MORE EXCITING then then PRO STUDIO Made films... THAT IS IMPRESSIVE!
WELL DONE! I LOVED IT! I watched it THREE TIMES Before making this comment!
PLEASE DO MORE! And if you Need "MODEL BUILDERS" PLEASE Let me know! I am 56 and have been building models my ENTIRE LIFE! :D
THANK YOU for your Hard Work! WE ALL APPRECIATE IT!
And MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU... ALWAYS! :D
Who needs Disney? THIS is what fans wanted..
And it's nice to see the EU references.
These fans.... they keep the force strong! Incredible movie.
Excellent- simple story, tightly plotted, yet ample time to really build the drama and engage us in the situation and characters. Well done!
I was shocked how good it was! Amazing.
In my observations , Bespin, a gas planet, has no terrain for ships to crash on, however, ships will be trapped in an endless "falling" cycle, that air friction will ultimately burn up the ship until it either blows up or break apart. Humanoids like Luke, will first die from suffocation from endless falling until air friction burns up their corpses.
Basically
Thank you for the nice and cheery imagery. :)
Not really- all the planets have solid cores, (including the Gas and Ice Giants); but that's not the problem- pressure and gravitational forces are. The ship would be steadily crushed under increasing pressure, cracking like an egg long before it got anywhere near the core. (Not to mention, the chances of the atmosphere being remotely breathable are slim to none- so as the hull buckles and let's the atmosphere in...)
Holy crap! Why have I not heard about this until now?!?! AMAZING!!!!
This short film is better than all acolyte from disney! The better scene is Imperial Star Destroyer falling in Cloud City. Bespin remains beautiful!
