Protip: if you get a new optic of any sort and have any semblance of care for them, make sure there's only lithium batteries in them unless it's an emergency. Alkaline batteries leak acid, Lithium batteries only ever offgas and leave a redbull smell that isn't at all harmful to the optic.
Chris from Regular Guy Training has joked about how the battery life on his COMP M4S managed to outlasted his marriage. It is important to use lithium batteries though, as standard ones can leak and ruin the optic. On that note, your EOTECH blinks like that to let you know the battery is dying.

I just bought two of the Comp M4 aimpoints on Tacswap for around 400 a piece. I'll clean them up, put new battery caps on them, and let them run for years to come.
Mine started having issues. A battery corroded and i just can't seem to clean the compartment enough. The only thing its doing is not shutting off, so it could definitely be worse. Other than that, i can't really complain seeing as how i bought it about 15 years ago and its still going strong.
I forgot where I read this, but they said when the DOD worked with aimpoint to have these made, they specifically asked for alkaline batteries for shipping purposes but aimpoint recommends lithium batteries because they will not corrode. Hopefully they can sell these to the commercial market with the right battery so this problem can be prevented. They're literally giving you a battery that will mess up your very expensive sight.
I could never afford one, so i had to opt for a Romeo7. Love it so far, and hasn't failed me yet. I'm sure the Aimpoint is just as good if not even better👍👍
I’ve got an Aimpoint Comp M3 on my 10.3” AR, and I’m thinking about getting a Comp M4 for one of my 14.5” ARs. I love the simplicity of a red dot, I have an Aimpoint Pro on my M1A as well.
Funny you say you don't want your gun to be a billboard, my biggest grievance with BCM, and probably the dumbest, is I hate their logo. I refuse to even consider them because of their logo haha

I’ll vouch for three of them One on a colt 6940 duty rifle for years, was used ended up in evidence for a year and 3 months still going strong when returned Also dropped direct on concrete from table height by gf, no issues no loss of zero Two more on builds one M4A1 and one MK18ish both work well and look great, the one on the shorty has been with me through a lot no issues and that one was used when I got it
Within 25m if the circle is on the target you dont need to be precise. Ymmv but i can get center mass shots like this Within 25m. The comp m5 is good too.
2:27 noob question but is the stock on your Mk18 in FDE or Coyote? That's the color i want but i can't find too many good references online on which color is which
@jamesshoots I'm on a URGI obsession right now. I think Im about to get an upper. If you got another or do another build, what would it be? I love Block 1 and 2 and M16A4 but I'm sprung for the URGI rught now.

Always use lithium batteries they do not leak. I have had then all over the world never had an issue.

Solid! Yeah I love red dots. Nothing against the holographic sights like EOTechs, but I agree that the simplicity is better for me.

Attach a suppressor and that logo on the BCG will disappear quickly. Of course it’s not permanent, but it will stay covered until you clean it. 😊
