Listen man, seriously this was my exact problem. Ran through everything you did down to a T, pulled parts off an old motor, resistance checked everything, watched this video, and oh wait, I just bypassed my solenoid as well!
Man.. I think this video just saved me. The cold start hooks up to the air valve connector? That's good to know. Im having cold start issues, and Im gonna check that CSI
Hey thank you! I put in a starter button five years ago and for some reason the rig just started having trouble with the cold starts. Gonna Check now to see if that’s why
Hmmm. Ive been having the problem with mine. Crank and cough for 30 seconds or so before she fires off. Push button start too. But before i did my timing chain i installed the comp coolant temp sensor on the outside no coolant and she fired up first crank. Now i did the job and its in the coolant same cold start problem. I even replaced the pigtail after finding the probelm wasnt fixed. Im also concerned my idle are control valve is letting to much though but its a once a day diag for me.
Heat extraction, dropped the under hood temps by 35-40° which means cooler interior also. Engine had been running hot so this was one of many things I did to get it to stay cool when crawling. Stays under 200° no matter what.
@@turbostoybox2182 could I give you my number and I can ask you question I’m kinda new with Toyota my 91 has push start and i literally did everything you did but the wires not sure where to start

DID THE SAME EXACT THING YOU DID WHEN I BYPASSED THE STARTER RELAY THANKYOU!
killer fun truck-great vid
Pro tip: if you dont have a noid light you can use a small LED trailer light. Really any small LED works.
Always take multiple wrenches/socket for less trips. I know. I'm lazy. Lol
Great. Vid
Congrats
glad you found the problem !!
The cold start auxiliary valve, underneath the intake manifold. The bimetal pierce is not working properly….

Dang man good luck! Sounds like a pain.
So now when you turn on the truck when it’s hot it will still be using the cold start injector because I have the same problem
@@beastbro1700 No it shouldn’t. The injector is still being controlled by its temperature sensor.
Nice
When do you think it would be a good time to check POWER/pulses to the injector. What a waste of time using a parts cannon.
Never figured out what the holes in the hood are for

Hey on a 1991 toyota 22re they also put a push button on this truck but wire goes directly to starter what other wire needs to be in there?
The trigger wire for the starter/ cold start relay. Have to look at a wiring schematic to make sure which one it is.
@@turbostoybox2182 thanks
@@turbostoybox2182 do you have a shop maybe give you my phone number so I can call for a question?
@@keatonc7520 I don’t. Just do this for fun in my own garage.

What was the exact solution? Did you replace the cold start sensors?
For me it was the fact I had bypassed the cold start relay. Once I wired that back into the starter trigger the 5th injector started working again.
What kind of bucket seats are those?
PRP Podium
How many miles/ km did this happen at ? Mine just started with the cold start issue at 400,000km.
Honestly not sure on miles. The engine was taken from another truck and did not appear to be original from that one either.
@@turbostoybox2182 thanks
1981 TRD EFI Those are Rare ..🤣
1 of 1 🤣😂🤣. That’s what the internet boys love to say.
