Of all the nice vehicles we had in the parking lot at north this is a truck I’ll never forget when it was red with a sunroof. Probably the reason I have a driveway full of Toyotas today.
I have the same prob with my 4runner 2LT just click no crank no dash light. I looked for some fuses and hope it will do the job, if not might as well end up doing the same thing
Gentleman should you still having the problem you may have a voltage drop in the ignition to starter harness, a very common solution is installing a starter slave solenoid from Ford trucks, you won't regret it, guarantee that it works.
I have a 1985 Toyota 22re and have the same problem mine does not have starter relay I've done same thing you did to start it ! Could never figure it out .
@@TwistedGripGarage That makes better sense. guess i missed main point, Turn Key On. Hours Reading of relays, not finding mine, but did learn how to tell which pins do what no matter where they are. Starter Too, *Thanks Much*
I'm not sure that would work. If you have no power from ecu to ignition, you will need a way to get the truck in the "run" position on the key. Not really sure how you'd do that... sorry
Wow! You’re a genius! I’m going to try to replace the relay and if I can’t find one, I’ll do what you did. Thank you for this video buddy!
That is exactly my problem.
1989 Toyota 4x4 no start / start … what a great idea .
Thanks 🙏

Haha! Thanks man. I hope to one day paint it back red...
In line fuse is always a good idea when running hot directly off of the battery.

Hi fellow. Did you know what BCI that battery is? I being looking for some battery like that where the negative post faces the side of the car.
So run a wire from positive to a switch than from switch to the small wire on the starter?

Excelente, I own a 1993 Toyota truck, Maybe that’s the Problem, Gracias,
what gauge wire did you use?
I believe it was 12g.
Great video, great help thank you
You bypassed Ignition Switch, could that be issue? No matter, just Clever.
@@kareno8634 I didn't by past the ignition switch. I only bypassed the starter relay. Truck may spin over but won't fire up until the key is turned.

Yea what do u clean it with. What do you uze.
When cleaning the contacts, use finer grit sand paper and electronic cleaning spray.
I have a 1993 hilux surf ssr-x how can I do a bypass on my truck because I have no power going from my ecu to my ignition
