    Just want to say thanks for the video. My housing cracked today, used this video to easily change it. Only cost me $60 and a couple hours.

    How do you prep the rusty area on the engine where the casing attaches? Do you use any gasket sealer? Or just clean with a wire brush and put the new one on?

    hi, friend. I changed the thermostat and I realized that the hole inside the cylinder head was clogged with stone or grease. And I left it anyway, my question is, is that why my focus is overheating? How could I clean it?

    Could you tell me what the part number is you used? It looks similar to the Dorman 902-201 Water Outlet Housing Kit. Is that the kit you used?

    What did you do with the small piece. looks like plugs ? Cos I just replaced my thermostat my Ford Focus SVT . 04. And the new one came with out that piece. So I can't use the same plug with the new one cos the hole is a little bit bigger than the older ones. And the coolant come out. What I can do? I need help. Thanks.

      raul enrique ruano hey did you figure out the solution to your 04 SVT I have the same thing and I want to make sure it works?

      Rick Treat At the end I did use the same plug I mean the older one. Because the new thermostat comes with out the plug. But What I did was . I put a little bit of Teflon around the plug to make it tight. BUT make sure your thermostat looks exactly the same as the older one. I'm talking bout the metal thermostat that goes inside NOT the plastic thing . If is not the same . Your engine is not going to reach the right temperature. That happens to me . Hope That help you . Sorry my English sucks

    My 2001 Focus is acting like it's overheating but it's not showing me like on my gauge thing it's not showing me that it's overheating but when I drive it and it's hot it stalls out on me and then when I let it cool down it starts right up and I can drive it again I was told that it can be a temperature switch is this what you're showing like with this cause that problem to happen

    Good job on this video. You explained things in great detail; and I really appreciate it. This bitch (the thermostat) is really hard to see on my car. I have the 2010 Ford Transit Connect, which has the same engine as the Focus. Thanks again.

    • @freestyleflowful

      yes it will ....have catch pan

    • @bradenanderson5087
      @bradenanderson5087 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Make sure you're dumping the coolant y system first, via small plastic butterfly screw on bottom drivers side of radiator before doing this job. Even then, some fluid will still come out, use a catch pan or at least piece of cardboard to catch excess coolant spillage. It is toxic, especially to animals who like it's sweet taste :/

      Not on my 2000 focus ZTS. the plastic is broken where the upper radiator hose connects to the housing. these auto manufacturers have got to stop using plastic for these kinds of parts it's stupid.
