I live in Tbilisi, Georgia, the crossroads of Europe and Asia. Despite being born in the southeast of the capital, I now live in the diagonally opposite side of the city. Tbilisi is situated by the river Mtkvari and the sightseeings are on the both sides of the river. I work very close to the city center, right next to the Heroes Square.

Prepositional phrases in capital letters: The baby is happiest AT HOME. ....We are OUTSIDE THE BUILDING. IN THIS LESSON we look at prepositions of place....We hope time goes by quickly ON THIS FLIGHT....We are BY THE RIVER relaxing and reflecting..WE RAN OUT OF THE HOUSE when we saw that spider......WE CAN GO THROUGH THE BUILDING and look for the cat......DESPITE THE RAIN, we are going out.
Taking a very broad-brush approach, we could say this about the place prepositions:
IN - Got to be in something. In the groove. In the mood, In the box. In the building.
ON: On a flat surface: I am on TV. The car is on the road. # We also use ON for On holiday. On the up. On a flight, On the phone, On duty, On my way and others. #Collocations often use prepositions of place.
AT Very precise location or time: I will see you at two-o'clock. I am at the front desk. Jacob is good at English. I have arrived at my destination.
Mixing them all up, we could say something like this.
I am at the front desk in the hotel by the sea.
I am at a bus-stop in London, but should be on my way soon.
I'm at work in the hotel and can't talk while on duty.
Always remember that a preposition takes in an object: I am IN the house. 'I am in' is different - I AM IN - That would be 'in' getting used in adverb of place form ,,, I am outside. I am inside. - They would be adverbs of place as they don't take in an object. .
Despite growing up in the center of Ukraine I now live on the West part of the country. I live almost in the center of Lviv, if to be exact it's on Southwest direction from the Ratusha or it also calls center square. In this city a tons of entertainments and beautiful places with old architecture for example Italian garden, a mine of coffee, Lviv chocolate manufacture, High Castle Park is a highest point of the city from what you can see all parts of the city and a lot more other

What I really find complicated is to correctly express directions using the compass points.
For example, I might want to say: "My city is more north than London". I still do not know whether this is correct or not and when I should use the word "northern" instead.
My city is north OF London. If your city is very close then you could say - My city is JUST north OF London.

It was a great lesson, but I have a question about pronunciation of direction and directly. You pronounce them as dairection an dairectly, but the transcription I've found says it should be |dɪˈrɛktli| and |dɪˈrɛkʃ(ə)n| . So, now I'm a bit puzzled.
