    I'm non native speaker of English and maybe capable of American accent due to my work experience with Americans but however I recognize that British accent sounds charismatic smooth and as a result heading straight for the heart. Honestly I can't but feel safe and welcomed when Listening to Brits. Thrilled to say Catherine is making a truly amazing British ambassador. Best regards

    I agree.
    I studied English at the Sorbonne University and had pronunciation lessons.
    And the most important pronunciation point was the schwa, connected with the strong forms and weak forms of words.
    I can say, as a French, that my pronunciation is not as bad as other French people…lol

    Thanks Katharine for such a good help. I have always been captivated by the British accent, specially the RP from the SE, but it is really hard to replicate it for me. It sounds like music to my ears and probably easier to me to understand it (even though I also lived in the US for a time). Love your accent by the way, I can perceive that you are a musician, as your diction is extremely good and clear. In my experience, I find singing a very good tool to improve pronunciation. Keep the good job!

    As a South american living in the US for 11 years; I find British English very elegant on how each word is pronounced. Although it's easier for me to understand American English; I'd rather watch Sky News in order to get imbued by how the brits speak out. In fact, it is my wish to do such a tour throughout the British isles to know more about their history, language, religion, and customs.

There is a LOT to see in the UK and if you visit I am sure you will enjoy it.

      Yes, British accent English is more elegant, but it is slightly challenging to be practised in Malaysia when you are native local Malaysian. In Malaysia, English is the second language practised for business and education, but we are not practised British accent. When speaking English with British accent to each other, it is an errogant for local Malaysian people feeling.

      @@zanaizrulzainalabidin4170 In that case I think you guys should establish such an English standard pronunciation for everyone can speak at the same rhythm.

They all explained HOW to do the schwa but not the "WHY" (i.e. to give more of a musical rhythm and a sense of where to focus to the listeners). Kat does have a knack for teaching English....

    The Schwa is a regular letter in the Romanian alphabet rendered as Ă, ă. It is very important, look at this:
    casa = casă
    la casa = casa
    So look at it in new English spelling:
    Lemăn
    Dălivă:
    Bănaană

    In Spanish (my language), we don't have schwa, all of our 5 vowels are pure-open vowels: a, e, i, o, u. So, we also have "sofá", but it is 'sO-fA', exactly as you did in the example 😅
