    • @27b4
      @27b4 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Accuracy before speed every time. It's like learning to play a musical instrument (which, in fact, the voice is); if you can't play a piece well when you take it slowly, your performance won't improve when you try to speed up. It' all about control.

I have been living in the UK for a couple of years and of course I do have plenty of occasions to practise, but I know I still have to work hard on pronunciation and connected speech to sound more like a native, although I wouldn't like to pick the accent of this particular region I'm living in :-)

    Amazing english notes Anna, may I do a recommendation, as an english Learner I will tell You would be marvelous if you coul do some upgradings on your videos subtitles better to turn then on a "ENGLISH " subtitles instead of "ENGLISH AUTOGENERATED" English autogenerated are not that accurate as the others I mention, believe me, second language learners like me find it, highly in handy because we can read and recap everything that's been said precisely. Repeat and Repeat , listening and listening , reading and listening at the same time , it is the best method for me. But i can't pretend talking in two years. To be or not To be like a native isn't important. A long journey start with a single step each day.

    Love the way you delivered the tips to master the language. Most of them try to imitate the natives to sound like them. I believe that should come naturally while conversing with them on a regular basis. One doesn't need to focus much on the accent, rather learning the correct pronunciation would be the key for language learners.

    Miss Anna English (I don't know if is your surname) you are absolutely right, I agree with every word I've heard. I am Italian and I am trying to talk more correctly, getting more standard British, so with no Cockey or Mancunian or Northern accent, just standard English, and I usually have the problem of trying to talking fast, as many english people does. I know that when we talk, is important to be clear and precise, to being understood from the other one or ones. But the problem is when they talk fast. I usually watch some movie or documentary, or other, in English, and is so hard to understand what they say because they talk fast or non-understandable, and when I try to hear that part of the phrase I loose the following words. This is quite a matter of all the languages, but usually I am very good in English, and I have troubles about understanding the same, sometimes even for the unknown words are used

    It seems like languages are spoken at different speeds. I spent a month in Spain where I used a secondary language. There, the language is spoken so fast that it almost sounds like they're speaking gibberish, whereas English is spoken so slowly and clearly that you can hear every word properly enunciated with perfect diction. It's just funny how each language is shaped by the culture using it. There are people that speak English so fast that you don't understand them, but it's far rarer to encounter them. I have but it's very uncommon.
