@@begentlesenpai9659 after taking some time and research to get it to run properly I'll say there's a good bit of a performance increase. Elden ring at 1200p high settings I would average 50fps. I ended up turning it to medium to get a lil more performance. Enshrouded 1200p medium settings average 50fps. Palworld high settings also about 50fps 1200p. Remannt 2 was a lil choppy for some reason. Overall I think it was a good buy but I had my expectation set just a lil higher from how this thing should've performed. I haven't tested the storage speeds yet.
Basically similar to the GPD G1 Egpu.
Which you can definitely play games at 1080p ultra 60fps, or 2k High 60fps.
But won't handle 4k gaming well..

Gpd g1 can't charge while playing only while powered off. Onexgpu has 280watts wall brick so it can charge while playing

1080p integer scaling on a 32in 4k monitor, at a 3ft viewing distance , is nice looking 4k. Ultra settings with good frame rates will be awesome

Now wouldnt that ssd being in rhere actually work against the ability of the gpu communicating with the go throught the already gimped thinderbolt 4 connection? From what ive researched, just the gpu trying to comunicate will give you like a 40 percent drop in performance? Not trying to bash it, juat trying to understand this better.
They cover this on their FAQ. They say the SSD shouldn't exceed 8Gbps bandwidth, but you can run a second usb c for just the SSD data transfer.
Now with these eGPU’s popping up, i am more tempted to get one of the gaming handhelds that have been coming out and couple that with a egpu for the more high demanding games and I’ll be set 👍🏼
Bro do it I just did it and its unreal. Always on the go, always at work or hiking. Perfect option if you dont have much space to plus I own the Legion Go…dont listen to the Naysayers. I can personally text you gameplay and the numbers and what this thing can do by itself in a handheld is just unreal. The OneXGpu just makes it madness with my 240hz LG monitor man, super small and compacted. After you set it up, its plug and play. Never got hotter then 58 C with it on my USB powered Laptop Fans

Yooooooo! How in the heck did this device turn my LG 1080P Ultragear monitor into a 4K monitor? When I plug any other PC into it, just 1080p 240fps. So, I've been planning to do a TH-cam channel for my views and opinions to be shown on there. I wonder though, will there be more weird situations like this to discover? You might be able to get your hands on one or someone can lend you one. I'm startled, I put a review on the best buy website. I was just about to buy a real 4k monitor but who knows now 😅

Asus did, but it is proprietary. I think the Asus 2022 XG Mobile RX 6850M XT has a bit more power than 7600.
@@celinek2690 Yea it is like the older XG Mobile 3080 (it's sometimes better then 6850M) but sadly it's sooo expensive. Moreover Asus blocked TB over USB-C so you can't use it with OneXgpu or GDP G1. As much as i love my Rog Ally I'm currently thinking of buying Legion GO and going with TB3/4 eGPU with more freedom. XG Mobile has great performance but come on ... propertiary and sooo expensive isn't going to sell well. I hope Asus will eventually open his standard or release eGPU case with XG Mobile connector but chances are very low :/

If this is also a charger then can this be taken on a plane? TSA regulates portable charger banks which I believe anything past 100 Wh is banned. Correct me if I am wrong.
It’s not a battery pack, it’s a charger in that it plugs into the ac to power itself but also powers your handheld. The TSA rule applies to battery packs which this is not

It's only got 2x USB4. The top and bottom. You might have mistaken the SD card slot for a USB slot. Either way, 2x USB4 is better than 1!

The steamdeck is the only one out there that can barely meet 40fps which is why its dirt cheap.
Im moving and selling my desktop, so my handheld will be my only gaming device. I have an SD OLED on the way but I'm tempted to get the Go for eGPU compatibility.. OR I just replace my work laptop with one that has a usb 4 and use that for gaming at home.

Can the Legion Go be connected to this via Oculink or only usb c?
Lenovo Legion Go doesn't have an Oculink port, but you can use this with any of the USB C on the handled, as they are thunderbolt 4 and with a similar performance to an Oculink port
I made my contribution for onexgpu and oculink yesterday. Shipping is supposed to happen January 2024. Back up power, the old school wall brick 280 watts so it can charge the legion go while playing. Gpd g1 doesn't have enough power to charge and play have ti charge with the second port

whenever these type of devices are reviewed; there are always comments about desktops and laptops being cheaper. EVERYONE KNOWS that. people who purchase these devices are doing it for different situations. or have the desktop/laptop already.

It has an m.2 ssd slot and it charges your device when plugged in.
+ it has an internet RJ45 slot. This is missing on the G1 too.
Does this have hdmi 2.1 out?
With display port yes. You Can output 4K 120hz, but hdmi its 2.0 so you can’t.

No, sadly the ROG Ally doesn't have a USB-C 4.0 port, just has regular USB-C with displayport. They opted to put their own EGPU port on it to force you to buy theirs. :(

I believe the XG mobiles are more powerful. When compared to the 2022 AMD, there is more ram as well in the XG Mobile.

@@samsellers6928 an external gpu is to basically make it a console or desktop. Running an egpu over usb4 and feeding back to the internal display defeats the purpose of an external.

If it costs equal to or less than a gaming PC then i guess its justified. As long as youre winning on power to performance. This has me mind boggled lol
Because you'll get gaming PC power that you can take anywhere and it's also a power bank so you can toss this , the legion go, and a folding Bluetooth keyboard/mouse and have top teir performance that can all fit in a sling bag .

And it can be arguably more portable as you don't have different parts to assemble like a transformer 🤔 I do get that it offers pc power and functionality with top gaming performance. Ok I guess I'm starting to understand it. People want the ability to switch between a portable form factor (more portable than a laptop) to a top end desk set up with some connections. I guess Im getting it now lol
You just said the dilemma on why I'm returning mine, I'm not gonna lie, I love it but my zephyrus m16 from 2021 with a 3050ti its better, this thing is the equivalent of a almost a 1060 so gpu so do your math wich its not bad specially for handled gaming and not specting a full AAA graphics experience ( for indie games its great ) but again i think , its the best handled for some emulation and past years gaming. It could also a nice machine for proffesional graphical work connected with a monitor and all the periferials for a full desk setup experience and of course connected to an external gpu but still not a replacement for a gaming laptop neither a pc.. while laptops still being portable and more capable but of course not as comfortable as having a switch on steroids with the full potential of a windows pc at your your hands ;)
Firstly, the device is costly just to be bottlenecked by Thunderbolt 4. Apparently there's AMD driver confliction between the normal adrenaline drivers with Z1 extreme drivers, so everytime you have to use the eGPU, you need to delete, Z1e drivers for normal adrenaline drivers, and reverse the process when you disconnect, too much hassle for a few extra FPS 😕
A 7800XT is barely beating a 4070, a 7600 is not beating a 4060 on desktop.
And now this company claim a 7600XTm can somehow match or even beat a 4070.
Please stop believing this crowdfunding bullshit.

Some people don't have room or prefer versatility of the separated components. I run a mobile setup as a desktop.
without a fucking oculink port, it is not worth the price for an external card. it has been proven 12 ways to sundayu the performance is bareley perceptable if you use a usb cable.
Just buy a gaming laptop with that same money and you’d be better off! This is the dilemma with the PC handhelds. Once you start adding on all of the compatible accessories, it’s loses that mobility. The price takes you into gaming laptop territory. Which is the better option here.
Sometimes, it is the silly cuteness and coolness that is more important. 🙂

@@Churd_I no this is the exact problem I have with pc it's not plug and play you have to constantly fiddle with things and settings drivers etc that's why I prefer a console because it plug and play not the best graphics but at least I can play the damn thing ,yes I had an gaming laptop with a 1060 6gb Alienware I know what I'm saying

The handhelds do require fiddling, but just like a desktop pc, the fiddling is worth it, cause once it’s over it’s over, god forbid you have to do it again, at least you know how
Consoles are less effort, but handheld pcs are for sure the future, Ik you’re not running elden ring on a nintendo switch
