This is why I choose to follow this channel bcz there is no bullshit here thor is a straightforward person of which we need in this subject aswell as him not being afraid to say wat is on his mind..example "the woman's PUSS.."😂..I thank you for your time and your sacrifices you make to make these videos and valuable information about our heritage but especially the straight forwardness of his heart and speech he is not afraid to say wat is on his mind ..and the fact that alot of the other people who are trying and failing to deliver the same type of content bcz most of them just talk through their backside and yet thor here does his homework properly before delivering the content to us..TO THOR MY FRIEND IF WE WERE TO FALL BACK IN HISTORY AND BACK TO THE TIMES WE SPEAK OF HERE..I WOULD GLADLY SUPPORT YOU AS YARL OR KING...BUT seems as your building your own community in Colorado I wish to be apart of it and I think it's going to be a great success. .I encourage you to make yourself the leader in this place and I will support you

Regionally, a meadow or field would be the preferred place for farming and setting. The place to make a home. 5:15 She seems to be the judge and jury. Potential for it to be a “final destination”, the completeness of self buying entry into the hall type thing. Those turned away have more to accomplish before they gain entry into the hall. Potential that the hall is the other side of the portals in rituals (that entering the hall makes you one with the other side or of that energy now, like evolved. Such a beautiful concept 💗

The Isis connection is interesting since both Isis and Freyja are associated with shapeshifting too particularly with the falcon. Very cool connection. Freyja's afterlife always sounded more chill and nice than the noise of Valalla honestly.

    @10:45 Isis as Freya
This is an interesting perspective that I've also "sort-of" come to the same conclusion, in fact if you broaden it, and take it much further back it there seems to be a core feminine deity somewhat like the Greek Sophia, and the Sumarian Ninhursag and Ninlil.
I would not doubt that we have experienced a multitude of global and partial full-on resets that have played a significant part in our combined storylines.
Another excellent study, thank you! 👍👍👍

I very much appreciate your sober analysis seriously trying not to step outside what the souces can carry, and clearly stating where you "go beyond". That of course make it difficult as we really don't have that many good sources on the old Norse religion, but if cautiously trying a step into the dangerous landscpae of speculation I find it absolutely logical that the Norse religion had "something to offer" to the women as well. After all the sources are quite clear on Norse women being strong willed and independent (as women) - why should they not?

One thing you did miss is the German fairy tale character of Perchta, who does seem to have absorbed random characteristics of the Celtic Goddess Beira & the German/ Norse Freya & many regional variants have stories where people die, often by falling down a well, & end up in a field like afterlife where she resides & these fairy tales give some extra criteria for the kinds of people who go there.

It's an interesting piece to consider that "those of us most honourable will be reborn immediately"
I have to wonder if there is a part that "allows" for the individuals wants, desires, needs, cares and on and on and so and so forth when those most honourable pass.
Because if "hell" exists, than hell exists.
Is it a place of love or a place of feeding.

Very good video. Brave to mention Varg in a positive light as well. Many will burn a fuse hearing that, I wager. This is not on topic but it would be cool to hear your input on this. A Swedish historian named Fredrik Ousbäck has made a series of YT videos about a rune stone in Sweden called Rök stenen (the Rök stone). According to Fredrik, that stone was made by Brage Boddason. I know that it's much to ask of you to go through all of the videos but it would be interesting to hear your opinion on Fredriks theories.

I wonder if not just Elysium's influence on Folkvangr, but also if Egyptian traditions influenced the Proto-Indo-European traditions that developed into the Greek and Norse beliefs as well, since Egypt has a 'Field of Reeds' in their folklore that is much like these.

Is it possible the field or garden was the place the warriors would fight every day and Valhalla was the hall where they would gather, eat, and drink afterwards? I believe there's some theories to believe they may have been the same area in the afterlife.

According to some things I've read, Freyja has a "chariot" (I'd wager it was originally a *sleigh* , since that's what'd be more reliable for the Norse) that was *pulled* by two cats; they don't say for sure what *kind* of cats, but my personal theory is that it's *tigers* , because the *biggest* tigers in the world, who're also the biggest wildcats in the world *period* , Siberian tigers, live in Russia, a land the Norsemen are *known* to've explored & settled. Knowing that, the Norsemen probably *did* encounter tigers at some point; & Freyja's not *just* the Norse goddess of feminine beauty & sexuality, she's *also* the queen of the Valkyrjar, making her a *war* goddess too; so she's really like a *female* tiger when you think about it.

As a polytheist, I believe people are connected to specific afterlife realms based on things like which deities they worship, their culture, and their actions and choices throughout life, and that their experiences in the afterlife/intermediate state influence the way they might eventually reincarnate. So Fölkvangr is a real place (insofar as anything is real in our dream-like existence) for fallen warriors who are connected to the Norse/Germanic pantheon and afterlife at the time of death (rather than Elysium/Hades or Heaven or Sheol or a Hindu or Buddhist realm etc.) and/or people whom Freyja likes. Freyja's people go there in shamanic rites even in life.

    @joutavainen2920 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    it´s similar thinking in the
    finnic concepts.. here they
put the idols of those who
    became worshipped (as gods)
    to a different forest shrine,
which to me implies a different
    path to others.
    however all the afterlives
    were seen as local (literally
a lake or hill or island or
    cluster of stars, which the
    meadow could have also been,
    originally).
it was probably a mirror of a
    real world location, they didn´t
    just invent these fantasy places
out of nothing (as the tribes
    moved on then the sacred
    location turned into a myth).
    there was no common belief
    about death here, it was
    tribe / family specific,
    they would NOT have wanted
to go to a same place with
    strangers (it was kin heavens
    basically).
    what makes it hard to
understand is that often it´s both
    re-incarnation and afterlife..
    and sometimes the latter was
right here on earth, because the
dead were believed to turn into
    the tribes´ totem animals
    (like bears).
    the afterlife portion could be
seen just as a waiting period..
    because whenever a baby was
born the first thing they did was
to find out who had returned
(which is also known as the
    name giving ceremony, and yes
it was the life / birth / fate
    goddesses who were involved
in that, which there are many).
    the original way however seems
to be just older women of kin
    (a little bit older institution
    than "gods").
    i would say that re-incarnation
is probably as old as giving hereditary
names (which is old but not the
    oldest way).

Do I think everything in it is literally true? No. Do I think it's a 19th century hoax? No. Nobody at the time with enough knowledge of Frisian could have possibly pulled off such a stunt. It's as ridiculous as thinking the illiterate actor William Shakespeare wrote all those plays. Just like The Bible, and The Illiad, and The Mahabharata, it contains some truth.

What do you think of the theory that Freya created Frigga? Cause she is a shape shifter and know she is a godess made to be independed but after becoming an aesir and valkyre leader she got an equal level of inportance as Odin, so instead she divide herself in another conscious, as Frigga dont have historys of how she born or family.

This ancient norse technology and knowledge that was later passed to egypt and repurposed as well as perfected. Im willing to bet the minerals that make up the pillars are of a di-electric material. Please have faith and look into this land of chem youtube channel. Poke around a bit to get a sense of it, but it is absolutley eye opening as to what the ancients knew. A better birds eye view understanding. This involves alchemy. You will not regret looking into this channel.

This seems to call to my mind a Viking Jannah (from Islam) where Martyrs rise to the highest heights. The word "folksvangr" meadow for The Community speaks to my soul's demand we are all community and neighbors. I love the idea of a valley for the community. The other interesting aspect is the cycle of life it represents. And then of course it's alignment with Islam's Jannah. Seems like Folksvangr was suppressed because it's led by the goddess Freja, there's holistic fertility, and community. Seems like patriarchy and Christianity pushed that out. But that's my guess and I'll stick to that till we get more data. 😉

Am official guide in one of the biggest 13th century cathedrals in Northern France, dedicated to "Our Lady". After all those years spent explaining this space in detail, I know : its three ships do represent three reversed longboats; the mistress of the house is Freya - Mother Mary only named Notre Dame. Its high pillars make it an Isis temple. Its
three naves (the root word for "navy") were the daily meeting point for all town people to discuss business, make binding promises, get engaged and married, beside the religious offices. It was truly a FOLKVANGAR =
a space which could hold 10 000 people.
Last but not least: Odin's rune = Odal is rhythmically repeated on sections on all floors of the three ships! Therefore and in a deeply syncretic way, our Notre Dame cathedral is venerating all in all: the Egyptian ISIS
      - the northern FREYA and the Queen of Heaven (MARY). A concept build by free craftsmen united in guilds...

While I can see the parallels between Isis & Freyja, I very much *doubt* Freyja & Isis are one in the same because Isis doesn't have any connection to war, her husband is the lord of the *underworld* , & she has a *son* where Freyja has two *daughters* , Hnoss & Gersemi. Plus there's the fact that Freyja is also associated with *cats* ; probably because of their sensuality. Isis has *no* such association, & the Egyptians instead had a straight up goddess *of* cats & all their attributes named Bastet. I also don't believe the Egyptians *ever* sailed as far north as Scandinavia; it would've been *way* too cold for them.
Freyja also seemingly has *no* parallel in any of the *other* Germanic pantheons either, making it most likely she's a *uniquely* Norse goddess; maybe even the original *chief* goddess of Scandinavia before the Norse adotped the worship of the Germanic Æsir alongside the Vanir. That's what *I'm* convinced of.
