I have an Lakota uncle who was drunk (yep drunk) and he was telling me stories that a woman spirit visited him beside his bed and told him lots of information. He said there's a realm in our universe called, the pleiades aka the 7 sisters, or alfheim which he says is all the same realm but different names. they live in the 5th dimension(plane of existence) and above where everything has a spiritual body like spirits. They are very bright or have a very bright aura about them. Said that normal ppl cannot see them cuz their hearts are closed and our eyes cannot detect them because they resonate on a different frequency or something My uncle is native american he's very big on the spiritual stuff but sometimes I think he just makes up stuff.
I've bn trying to find more about Alfheim to find more descriptions to see if they match what he says but can't ever find anything, everything "god of war" pops up, quite annoying

What do you think of this: We're four dimensional beings and that the fourth dimension is actually time. We can observe it, say with a sun dial, we just can't manipulate it yet because of the amount of energy needed. If space and time are turning out to be one in the same, something can't take up any space without also existing over some amount of time, or vice versa, can't occupy any amount of time without taking up at lest an X, a Y, and a Z. I heard more than once that if one were to take two clocks set to the same time with a high degree of precision, one could be brought up to the highest altitudes and back ( say with a weather/research balloon), only to reveal their times would be off. Idk...lol, Bob Lazar fan here, :P
Very interesting ideas about these realms and their meanings, but I wouldn't mix them with dimensions in physics. Dimensions in physics are about physical space and time (and as others have said string theory is still in the works), whereas spiritual realms (at least from my understanding) are not mathematically defined or constricted as such, they seem to be about understanding our place as humans in terms of meaning/purpose, not in terms of just a collection of atoms that exists in x,y,z coordinate at time t.
Wow...I never thought of these realms as dimensions rather than physical locations, which makes so much sense why everything never really added up. I keep running into conceptual Ideas our ancestors had about complex understandings we know today. Like Egypt's description of the sky was "A great sea" which is accurate when you think of it as a 3-Dimensional sea and the summarians had an accurate mapping of our solar system long before telescopes... While they could be coincidences, I don't feel that they are!
Is that a varg shoutout? Very nice sir. Hes one of my favorites as far as actual breakdown goes. As ive said before, his opinions aren't always on point, but his more meta points are always worth checking out.

Got a theory about Muspleheim. Surtr is a fire giant that waits until Ragnarok (Which can be interpreted as the end of the world), when he'll take his flaming sword and the whole of Midgard will be engulfed in flames. In about 5 billion years our sun will run out of hydrogen, which will cause its rapid expansion and Earth will be made uninhabitable.
I like the idea of dimensions. I have been trying recently to find explanation for the realms within our own perceived reality, such as Venus could be Muspelheim, Pluto could be Niflheim and so on. Within religion that is a bit farfetched so I like your dimension idea. It makes more sense. Also, you describe elves and trolls as spirits. Do you mean they are apparitions/ghosts instead of physical beings like us? Thank you for the video. It was very interesting.
Yes thats right. They are spirits. But.....they are for sure the ones who are closest to our realm. In alot of folktales/sagas they are often visible and able to have conversations with humans. A couple of stories of people even being married to them! Crazy stuff
Wild speculation: considering a good chunk of the light and sound spectrums are imperceptible to us, the things we call "apparitions" and "ghosts" might not be as immaterial as we think, just outside our ability to perceive. Kind of how some animals can't perceive certain colors. Speaking of animals, have you ever had your pets stare weirdly at something that isn't there?
elves, trolls and other spirits are not "apparitions or ghosts" they are nature spirits. they exist just as much as us or even more just in a slight other dimension thats why not always visible to us. ghost is a ghost of a dead person..... a elemental spirit is completly diffrent
@@audhumbla6927 Well, elves are the spirits of our ancestors. So I suppose they are ghosts of the dead. Quite different than land spirits. However I think we ought to be cautious in assigning modern ideas to what the ancestors and spirits of the dead were back then. A better reference is how contemporary indigenous cultures reference these ideas. It's more of a being, a soul entity, if you will. Ghost busters type ghosts didn't exist for these people, not in the way we conceptualize them anyway.
In Dutch it is called “Huis”, referring to either your own dwelling or a place where beings live. Like a prison is a “Huis van Bewaring”, a place where people are kept until they are tried.
Love your channel! I'm hoping when you do the elves video you help me reconcile an issue I've been having. If the dead go to Hel to await reincarnation, how can there be ancestral spirits in Alfheim? Might those be spirits removed from the reincarnation cycle, like reaching Nirvana? Might that be peaceful version of Valhalla? Also, I would love to hear your thoughts on the Aesir-Vanir war, and its symbology of two peoples coming together. Thanks for the great work and don't stop.
Hel is the underworld, the deep dwelling of the earth where the body and flesh and people who die will pass through literally because of the burial of the body being given back to the earth, either through burial mounds, marshes/bogs and sea burials, like you pass through the earth and become one with the world again and recycled in a chemical/physical sense while your soul or spirit, which doesnt exist in a physical form but in a energetic vibrational dimension. So it's just a place you go before you either are manifested in a new life by birth. So it's a bit vague, but im just giving you an idea of how to think about as not a literal hell or purgatory. but more like the greek underworld. It's a interesting but hard topic to tackle hehe.
Off handed thought... many of the megalithic sites in Scotland seem to have 9 stones in the ring. Another oddity about this region’s monuments is the slab stone set horizontally in the ring
Talking about string theory and the "confirmation" that there's 10 or 11 dimensions. It is not confirmed as such, they ellude to there being 10 or 11 dimensions because that's what is needed for String theory to make sense, aka, for the calculations to add up. And string theory is not a confirmation, it is a suggestion of reality, not fact, but a theory
You're right that no one has "confirmed" string theory. Thats due in large part to the fact that much of it deals with things far too small for us to observe in laboratory conditions. However string theory isn't posited or needed to make the math come out right. When you do the math, string theory is the only answer we have that fits. So it exists because it fits the math and not in order to fit the math. It has had such staying power because the mathematics of string theory have added much to our understanding of black holes, the very early universe, and our understanding of the very extremes of our universe, where particle physics cannot answer questions. The many dimensions are also just another thing suggested by the math. In order for the math to be right, string theory and multiple dimensions are, for now, the best fit to answer our questions and fill in the gaps. Something different may come along one day, but for now, its the best we've got to help explain why the universe, at the smallest levels, behaves as it does.
It's only unconfirmed because we don't currently have the technology to properly test the theory at the infinitesimal small scales we need to prove it. Gravity is the same way... we know how to measure it and stuff but honestly speaking, scientists are not certain what exactly causes it. All we know is the bigger/denser the matter the stronger this strange force is
I don't know what to tell you. "Dimensions" do not have cut-off points. It's a gradient- spectrum of vibration you can attune to where different structures and beings may exist. The dark elf realm would be the denser part of the actual elf world for example. The 9 worlds are a rough map of spiritual heights.
Wasn't it Stephen Hawkings who states that gazing up at the stars was really looking into the back of our own minds? I think we are multi-dimensional beings, this is what the shamanic path is really about exploring those dimensions or realms. The 4th dimension is a bridge between dichotomous duality of the third dimension, to balanced wholeness and oneness of the fifth dimension. You also have in the Celtic Worlds Tree how it flows chronologically: roots: past, ancestors, cauldron or spring of rebirth. trunk: present moment, nature spirits, duality but merged into oneness, branches: future, gods and goddesses, higher state of mind. The past, present, and future are not separate as through the center of the whole tree is a scepter of light, a serpent, and anchor of alignment to make it whole.
Could there be some connection with Buddhist six realms: Human realm - Midgard Animal realm - Alfheim/Svartalfheim (maybe they can posses animals and in that way interact with humans) Hungry ghosts realm - Jotunheim/Muspellheim Hell realm - Helheim/Niflheim Asura realm - Asgard Deva realm - Vanaheim
I don't doubt that! Our languages are connected at it's roots, hence the name Indo-European language family. They are also just about the same distances from the cradle of civilizations... The more I look, the more similarities I see.
@Aiman Call I was just refering to six realms of Buddhism where Deva realm and Asura realm are separated I connected them to Asgard and Vanaheim duo to same dynamic between Gods of Asgard and Gods of Vanaheim where those two sets of gods fought each other just like Devas and Asuras
QFT (Quantum Field Theory) is better analogue for dimensions, "String theory" (inc Super/M/etc) are bollox... Think of them as a set of imaginary parameters that can be applied to a situation to dial it in to an already known situation. A framework of math that can be applied to logically break down the constituent parts of a complex physics situation to allow us to comprehend it. Nobody seriously actually claims it to represent reality it is a math tool. Besides all the "dimensions" are by definition not of spacetime so contain no matter. In QFT "Fields" in the same spacetime have differing interactions through energy spots or quarks, these go on to form matter but essentially all "9" fields are needed to form the quarks that form the atoms that make everything.
This was a great understanding/explanation. Always seen trolls, elfs in many cartoons. I like the explanation of who and what exists in those dimensions.
There is a video that teaches that while we live in a three dimensional world, we can only perceive two. We intellectually interpret the third. Four dimensional being would really perceive our dimension as a whole. That's why they can randomly appear. Carl Sagans video explains this in that video with the apple. The other video I was referring too is of some indigo kid explaining dimensions with knex toys
I agreed with you about the dimensions/density levels being the planets, and I think that Niflheim is Pluto, Mars is Muspelheim, Midgard and Vanaheim are Earth, Jotunheim is Uranus, Alfherm is Venus.
I love the video! Personally I feel like some of the realms can be a realm within a realm. Where Landverittiheimr can be in the dwarf realm and so fourth. I hope that makes sense. Its 3AM here hah
THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THIS! it's the first time i ever see someone mention Niðavellir as one of the nine 'worlds' .. i've also seen many use the term helheim for niflheim.. and as you say niðavellir, is often confused with svartalfheim.. but from what i know from the sources, niðavellir is the home of the dwarfs, not svartalfheim... because of the word 'Dökkar' is often the term for dwarfs or Dvergar, because they dwell in darkness- dark - dökk, therefore as elves also dwell our realm, why would dwarves not settle in more as well? ;) i still have the opinion that what dwells in svartalfheim, would be a different kind of elf, not necessarily a dwarf but maybe a similar being, like the Vættir- or landvættir as you suggest yourself, and i just love this... Friðar til broðir.. hilsner fra Danmark, og igen mange tak for at du lagde dette op! bliv endelig ved! ;) To me niflheim would be a misty frozen darklands or frosty plains, no man can venture through without freezing to death, before they arrive in hell.. ((it is hel's realm) i'd say her abode is at the 'center' if you catch my drift (her high seat is hellheim, the darkest point or area ) or just darkness itself ;)
modern evidence shows that red hair was a neanderthal trait. so maybe some are more dwarf than elf. ancestral memory is stored in the spine. there are many things to remember when you follow the tree.
Thank you for the content and insight. Can we consider 9 heimrs as parallel worlds? For example, the word "Yeti" in Sanskrit means Bigfoot. Something close to the Scandinavian "jötunn". Bigfoot is similar in description to jotuns. The Yeti is often described as being a large, bipedal ape-like creature that is covered with brown, gray, or white hair, and it is sometimes depicted as having large, sharp teeth. It suddenly appears and suddenly disappears, mostly in the mountains locations. Humans are usually afraid of him when encounter. That is, jotuns can live in the ream next to us and periodically appear from Jötunheimr (Yeti-home).
The idea of the nine realms as dimensions is interesting. My own unverified personal gnosis: Yggdrasil represents the spirit and the nine realms growing on it represent the state, or health, of the spirit. As the Norns weave our fates based on our actions our spirits enter into these “soul-states.”
Thank you for your insightful & thought provoking videos. I am new to this channel, watched a few of them now. I really appreciate your objective approach. I find the videos both educational and entertaining. I notice you have a send of message in each video- just curious, what does it mean in English?
At the beginning he says: “velkommen alle sammen“ which means “welcome everybody”. And In the end he says: “vi ses neste gang” which means “see you next time”.
It seems more like a cultural difference, to me, based entirely on my unguided, disorganized, unscientific language studies. A thousand years ago, the world to which we could travel was all we knew. As our knowledge has expanded, perhaps a more accurate word in modern English to the "world" translation would be "universe," not because we're thinking bigger, but because we can see farther. I think if we ever truly discover (read: "either visit or otherwise directly observe") some... "outerverse" that the word "universe" would, after more understanding is gained, be too "small," like "world" is now. On the other hand, this could all be me talking out of my ass, since I haven't started on Old Norse yet, because I'm still working on Norwegian. If that's the case, maybe I'll have something useful to contribute after I've done some studying. Addition: when you spoke about Alfheim it reminded me of the descriptions of a fourth dimensional being as seen from our 2-dimensional (because we live in three dimensions, but see in two) perspective. The idea of ancestral spirits existing in the fourth dimension, projecting themselves onto our plane of existence, hit me hard. I had already thought about this in the past personally, but had never seen the link to Norse paganism.
the 3 or 4 may be a key for the ones that make sense. a primer for each potentially. 3 x 6. 18 outcomes, etc. there could be 18 or 20 Kingdoms in total that rule the Universe at this time.
Pet peeve of mine is when people miss use the term dimension. A dimension is simply a measurement. Our universe is thought to have ten dimensions. It is impossible to exist within our universe without existing in all ten dimensions. The term you are looking for is parallel or alternate reality/ universe.
Just one question.... I do understand your idea of the nine realms and I really like the idea of them as dimensions, but how do you explain the beginnig, the whole Ymir story when there are no muspelheimr and niflheimr as in the common story?
I live in new Zealand born and raised in NZ I have Norwegian blood in me also maori and english blood your channel is great I wanted to get to know the history of the Norwegian part of me and you are very knowledgeable in the history so thank you bruv I can learn alot from your channel ✌
String theory is absolutely nothing that "modern science agrees on". Far from. Heck, you can't even test the theory, and should honestly not be considered a "theory" at all but a hypothesis.
yeah sure... but neither they do on spiritual worlds or gods etc. All this is theory and I think this defenetly could be one way of understanding the norse belifs. And sorry for my english if something is wrong. I'm from germany xd
Why would the ancient Norse know about a scientific idea of dimensions? I suspect they thought of these realms as spiritual locations where different kinds of spirits reside rather than "dimensions". The Other Side, as I call the realms beyond the veil, is mysterious, endless, and heavily populated with all sorts of energetic beings who may or may not be able to manifest in material reality. A lot of them can, to some degree. I've seen a few, and so have my children and other family members and friends. We have consistently seen the same spirit entities for the last 25 years in my house and on my property; about a quarter of these spirits are non-human. The journeying I have done has shown me that on the Other Side there are many, many different realms I call 'locations' even though the Other Side is nonlocal--it's the only concept I have to describe what I see. Maybe the ancient Norse saw the same. These realms may have nothing to do with dimensions but there's no way to know this yet. I studied advanced physics and keep up with all the latest discoveries, but I'm not getting the sense that the 9 realms are different dimensions, sorry--but I love your videos and want to see more! You have an interesting theory but so far really doesn't match the physics. Based on my own research and experience, I suspect that the spirit world is non-dimensional.
Our world is actually the first four dimensions because the fourth dimension is time and it is a singular linear timeline of material procession. The fifth dimension is the entire spectrum of potential unfolding from a particular data set that is physiologically embodied by the arrangement of the center of our verse. The sixth dimension is the spectrum of all potential verses and then I do not necessarily understand 7 through 10 or 11 depending on who you listen to. These nine realms are more likely facets of consciousness and the tree is the fundamental neural branching at the root of a brain. And it also represents the fundamental data set at the center of our verse and depending on that data set either of those data sets the nine realms appear in different places that's why they have no set place on the tree outside of the fundamental ones that likely do not change via each data set.
Note that if the 9 heimr are dimensions, and string theory is actually right about there being around 10 dimensions, and we want to map these concepts... it means that Midgard might be the x-axis, Svartalfheim the y-axis and Alfheim the z-axis. Time would be - let's choose another random one - Jötunheim. Yes, that does not make much sense.
Absolutely terrific content as per usual, I'm making myself a book shelf out in sun whilst listening to a variety of your videos! Any recommended additions to the book shelf as far as pagan literature goes?
My friends and I developed a system of organization over the past decade, around fifteen years or more that the original creator first thought of it, for writing based on Twelve Dimensions of Consciousness. Consciousness of the Creator: Potential and Existence (Father), Actualization and Gestation (Mother), Manifestation and Birth (Child). Energy: Etheric (spiritual, polarized according to one's 'template' of consciousness, which is essentially their existential makeup from physical to spiritual, with greater control for beings which rise beyond the 9 into the 10, which for the sake of an omniverse means the coalescing of shards into a singular ascendant being), Psionic (informational), Form (nucleic and subnucleic interaction which produces matter). Separation: Spherical (relative, entangled, the conjoining of planes and vertices - this represents 3D and all spatial dimensions beyond), Circular, Linear. Motion: Spherical (harmonic, tied to relativity and entanglement), Circular (polaric, this shows the non-duality of polarities, as they are one thing perceived as two), Linear (causal, the action of cause and effect which produces the concept of time, its concept of 'forward' coming from the asymmetry of entropic decay). Each dimension acts up, down, and all around this lattice. The conjunction producing the fully represented dimensions we understand and experience as Consciousness, Energy, Space, and Time. The spiritual realms would be produced by conjunctions and exposures which separate them from what we understand as 'normal' space. It started out for RP, to correlate all the different ideas into one understanding so logic can cross all boundaries, most of it derived from real life philosophies and beliefs since all fantasy is based thereon with its own twist. That's why it's an organization and not a system, because it isn't rigid and with more knowledge and understanding it grows to encompass more. It seems to have become far more than just a game though, since I've seen these concepts manifest in reality in popular media and even in scientific discovery years after we hypothesize some idea like radio-controlled proteins that integrate into opponent's brains to allow for manipulation. Come to find out that they've essentially achieved that with sound waves and genetically modified worms.
Let's get a ice breaker and Go look for ourselves! Who's down? I have charted vessel's before so I would be a good person to bring along. If your down to go beyond the ice wall to look for Asgard, let me know!!!
Please, please, Michael, do more videos about Trolldom and how to act with nature spirits. I know just the advice of people from Russia, but I don't know if they are correct.
Dude, please see my comment. Those explanations are pretty good, in spiritism Allan Kardec, those dimensions exists, they are actually overlap dimensions, they are at the same time here. Have your ever heard something about Astral Projection? So this plane that is the Álfheimr are the Astral Projection Plane. And...
The EDDA faintly depicts 9 Realms are actually continents on the ocean outside Surrounding The Earth’s Firmament. Along with a couple dozen others. The Dwarfs have their own continent.
in 'OUR UNIVERSE' on NETFLIX, Morgan Freeman explains where the universe came from ... something like 'carried across the ocean by a turtle, who buried it in the sand on her home island' (or maybe I fell asleep somewhere between 'when he introduced Mother Turtle' & 'when he explained that her pregnancy-ritual is IN THE SAME PATTERN AS the universe's creation of new stars')
from this video it makes me think this, asgard is our life force which holds all the gods a.k.a every aspect of life, thor is our spirit to live a.k.a heart, thor always fight jotun which in this video called devourer which i think it was a metaphor of mortality, then ragnarok end of the world jormungandr will be released i think jormungandr is the cycle of life and in the end thor will beat jormungandr with thor died together with it, then baldr revived and will be the new ruler, so... to sum up the future will be ruled by robots? :3 why i think this? because odin is the smartest aesir, his "SON" baldr when he is supposedly died, odin whisper something to his dead body which i think it was a command prompt otherwise why would he whisper to someone who supposedly dead, lol i'm getting crazy
It may be our senses and just the world around us. Spirits in the wind, the earth giving birth to plants and supporting us. Bad weather that devours life and earth. Asgard is our conscience.
I seen a video a while back that used the nine realms as representative of levels of consciousness, the micro vs the macro expression. For example, Svartalfheim could be the subconscious, Hel the unconscious, and Jotunheim our ego. With Asgard comparable to something akin to the super ego of Freudian theories. Just wondering what you might think.
I have thought about that myself. And how with certain different types/levels of meditation, dreaming, etc. we can get a look into these other dimensions that way. Different eastern beliefs have something similar.
Maybe, the Álfsheimr is the Astral Plane, and in Astral Projection we can go to the first dimensions, second dimension, third dimension, but those are not 1 dimension of just a point, it's just because it is named at first so then this is first.
I got you I got you. The 9 realms are the planets in our solar system and Vikings were actually advanced space pirates. Enjoy your videos and info thank you!
Whoa there! If bog bodies were sent to Niflheim, what does that imply about the reason they were sacrificed? Did Nordic bog bodies undergo a similar triple death as the Celtic ones?
You mentioned string theory. I just wanted to point out that string theory has largely fallen out of favour in modern physics research. All the experimtnets in CERN and other particle accelerators that were supposed to give credence to string theory completely failed to actually give the expected proof.
I'd say the literal translations were more closer to the truth than descriptions and your explanations. For me those "9 dimensions" seem to be mental states. Like a person could be in what someone could call elfish mental state (likes elves in real life and so on), then there is dark elf mental state (likes elves, but is evil in his intentions), and so on.. with my thought-pattern it seems very self-explanatory to explain the other ones too now. AND mental states are very, very tightly connected to ""magic"", or should I say, the control of your own powers, doing things that other people deem magical, but is actually just smart use of your body (and mind). PS: As a viking lover, you should investigate "Wim Hof", his breathing technique is for example what some could call magic, and in those ages for sure wouldve called it.
I don't think these dimensions have *anything* to do with dimensions in physics. They're more likely different states of consciousness much like the realms shamans in the Siberia access in trance. In some places in Siberia they also use the word tree as a symbol for accessing these realms (as Mircea Eliade writes, because idk any other sources).
No, extra dimensions are not proven (yet). It’s still just a theory. I used to think it was proven too until I checked it the other day. I believe that there are, though.
So heim is realm, there are 9 of them and Heimdall is birthed of 9 mothers. Do you think it could refer to the meeting of these realms at an axis mundi being what "birthed" Heimdall? Can you shed light on what the second half of his name means in old norse?

In Dutch it is called “Huis”, referring to either your own dwelling or a place where beings live. Like a prison is a “Huis van Bewaring”, a place where people are kept until they are tried.
Heim means home and in sweden we call home hem so its from the same word i even think home comes from the word heim
Excellent work to get all of that into 20 minutes!
Great thing about this topic is that I can watch your videos any time in my life and they are most likely not ever going to change
Another oddity about this region’s monuments is the slab stone set horizontally in the ring
idk about that "humans not being evil" statement. we seem to continually prove that wrong in SO many ways.
@@robertmurray6783 yes
There cut off point would be the dimensions higher
@@Gaijins Would surprise you if i told you that both polarities coagulate.
Both serve the same God:
One does it consciously, the other unconsciously.
I love the logical approach to this channel!
I love that we all have always been Pagan and there is so much science to this.
Never stop man! I love your video’s! Cover everything bro I appreciate you ❤️
Could there be some connection with Buddhist six realms:
Human realm - Midgard
Animal realm - Alfheim/Svartalfheim (maybe they can posses animals and in that way interact with humans)
Hungry ghosts realm - Jotunheim/Muspellheim
Hell realm - Helheim/Niflheim
Asura realm - Asgard
Deva realm - Vanaheim
Your youtube channel has been really helpful and informative thanks.
So Jötunheimr is actually closer to dormommu's dimension in Dr Strange than the frost giants world in Thor🤣
This was a great understanding/explanation. Always seen trolls, elfs in many cartoons. I like the explanation of who and what exists in those dimensions.
The 9 worlds was always interesting to me, and very confusing.
The way you explain it though makes sense! Thanks for this!

Perhaps the Jotun (devourers) represent chaos and entropy, which are necessary for change. Necessary evils, if you will. Just a thought.
I agreed with you about the dimensions/density levels being the planets, and I think that Niflheim is Pluto, Mars is Muspelheim, Midgard and Vanaheim are Earth, Jotunheim is Uranus, Alfherm is Venus.
planets?? are back in de mix? idk idc but how?
I love the video! Personally I feel like some of the realms can be a realm within a realm. Where Landverittiheimr can be in the dwarf realm and so fourth. I hope that makes sense.
Its 3AM here hah
I think this is my favorite video of yours at this point. I've liked them all don't get me wrong.
Friðar til broðir.. hilsner fra Danmark, og igen mange tak for at du lagde dette op! bliv endelig ved! ;)
To me niflheim would be a misty frozen darklands or frosty plains, no man can venture through without freezing to death, before they arrive in hell.. ((it is hel's realm) i'd say her abode is at the 'center' if you catch my drift (her high seat is hellheim, the darkest point or area ) or just darkness itself ;)
modern evidence shows that red hair was a neanderthal trait. so maybe some are more dwarf than elf. ancestral memory is stored in the spine. there are many things to remember when you follow the tree.
interesting points of view, and observations. every body knows the truth though no two agree. thank yew. have fun
17:32 Who else out of my fellow Scandinavians received instant childhood flashbacks from this image?
Several Native American cultures have a very similar belief in different "worlds" or dimensions.
Thanks for all your videos, very interesting 😊
2:54 - this 1 is really interesting ❤
Gods blessings! ❤❤❤ nice theory
I've thought for a long time that the realms could be dimensions which were more easily perceived back then.
thankyou. This fits with the understandings I have come to. thankyou
Just one question.... I do understand your idea of the nine realms and I really like the idea of them as dimensions, but how do you explain the beginnig, the whole Ymir story when there are no muspelheimr and niflheimr as in the common story?
To me. The world's look like the Chakra system, obviously the Norse had their own views of this. Like Huginn and Muninn was memory and thought.
Hypnotic 🌀 Meditation
There is a video out there about imagining the other dimensions all the way up to 10 or 11, pretty mind boggling.
I'm from germany xd
wait ... beliefs* definitely*
@@livscheel5279 But if you cannot show that there is any truth to it, there is no understanding to be found. Only guesswork.
There IS nothing “science” agrees on. Even the so-called laws are questionable.. 🤣🤣
@@teixeiradewitte No they are not. You are simply wrong here.
Do any of the "realms" descriptions match the description of Tir Na Nog?
Great one as allways 👌
Can you link to some of the scientific descriptions please?
Note that if the 9 heimr are dimensions, and string theory is actually right about there being around 10 dimensions, and we want to map these concepts... it means that Midgard might be the x-axis, Svartalfheim the y-axis and Alfheim the z-axis. Time would be - let's choose another random one - Jötunheim.
Yes, that does not make much sense.
Thank you.
Absolutely terrific content as per usual, I'm making myself a book shelf out in sun whilst listening to a variety of your videos! Any recommended additions to the book shelf as far as pagan literature goes?
You should definitely check out books from Varg Vikernes and Marie Cachet.
So what is the deal with the cats in the Vanaheimr realm?
Please, please, Michael, do more videos about Trolldom and how to act with nature spirits. I know just the advice of people from Russia, but I don't know if they are correct.
Could 9 refer to twilight/dusk/dawn and 3 refer to night?
Dude, please see my comment. Those explanations are pretty good, in spiritism Allan Kardec, those dimensions exists, they are actually overlap dimensions, they are at the same time here. Have your ever heard something about Astral Projection? So this plane that is the Álfheimr are the Astral Projection Plane. And...
is just me or ALFHEILM seems to be a very underrated Realm?
but hey is just me the guy with the Elven blood flowing through my ancient veins
The EDDA faintly depicts 9 Realms are actually continents on the ocean outside Surrounding The Earth’s Firmament. Along with a couple dozen others. The Dwarfs have their own continent.
Interessant video, mykje å fordøye.
in 'OUR UNIVERSE' on NETFLIX, Morgan Freeman explains where the universe came from ... something like 'carried across the ocean by a turtle, who buried it in the sand on her home island' (or maybe I fell asleep somewhere between 'when he introduced Mother Turtle' & 'when he explained that her pregnancy-ritual is IN THE SAME PATTERN AS the universe's creation of new stars')
Could nifleheim possibly refer to the spaces between the realms? A sort of liminal border that had to be crossed to get from one to the other?
Jotunheimr is devourer realm?
Thought frost giants? Or does devourer mean the wolves that ate sol and mane?
Do you have a separate video about why you think that the 3 last would be Nifflheimr, trollheimr and landvaettheimr?
Why wouldn't the nature spirits be included in Vanaheimr? Is that too simplistic of a correlation?
from this video it makes me think this, asgard is our life force which holds all the gods a.k.a every aspect of life, thor is our spirit to live a.k.a heart, thor always fight jotun which in this video called devourer which i think it was a metaphor of mortality, then ragnarok end of the world jormungandr will be released i think jormungandr is the cycle of life and in the end thor will beat jormungandr with thor died together with it, then baldr revived and will be the new ruler, so... to sum up the future will be ruled by robots? :3
why i think this? because odin is the smartest aesir, his "SON" baldr when he is supposedly died, odin whisper something to his dead body which i think it was a command prompt otherwise why would he whisper to someone who supposedly dead, lol i'm getting crazy
Great stuff, thanks.
@@norsemagicandbeliefs8134 so dude, have you ever heard about ASTRAL PROJECTION?
Maybe, the Álfsheimr is the Astral Plane, and in Astral Projection we can go to the first dimensions, second dimension, third dimension, but those are not 1 dimension of just a point, it's just because it is named at first so then this is first.
If your mind is still,it can be many places at once. If you focus too much on one direction, that is all you will perceive.

Svartálfaheimr maybe is the "intraterrenos espiritismo". Put on TH-cam you will see a lot about it

Varg vikernes getting some recognition finally ahaha
Well according to peoples lists there are 10 realms as some substitute Helheim, Nidavellir, and Svartafheim
Whoa there! If bog bodies were sent to Niflheim, what does that imply about the reason they were sacrificed?
Did Nordic bog bodies undergo a similar triple death as the Celtic ones?
Hmmm. Possible. Dont know much about the celtic beliefs. Will have to read up on that.
As far as I know, Joltunn is the root word for Giant and Genetics. It makes sense.
I think the Thor movies made us misunderstand with the word “realm” was supposed to mean
Pretty good video, but as of right now we have absolutely no evidence for or against String Theory
Thank you ✌️💖🎸🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
No, extra dimensions are not proven (yet).
