As a kid my mom had a friend who did formula drifting and he use to invite us so that's where I got introduced to drifting

i learned what drifting was when i was 4. i was in my stroller and my mom knew i liked racing so she went fast and did some stuff.but then when she turned she skidded a bit. and i asked her what was that? and she said that was a "drift". so when we got home i asked her to show me some more about it and she showed me some videos. and i absolutely fell in LOVE with drifting. the way that 180sx did that long reverse entry or that toyota jzx doing a 360 entry, AMAZING. thats how i learned what drifting is
Learned and started drifting while living in Japan in the summer of 2002. On the deathtrap mountain roads of Saitama. It's were I fell in love with the Silvia S13.

@@zeicola_1 Depends on if you're willing to learn Japanese or not. Japanese isn't the hardest language to learn. It's wasn't nearly as hard to learn as French, Dutch, German or Mandarin. Although there is plenty of English signing around, but to honest it's very helpful to learn the language or at least be conversational.
Can't wait to get the new Z car and throw some Artisa Elder's on it.

I live in The Dalles Oregon and was blessed to be in the right place at the right time. I was eating a delicious Big Jim's jalapeno burger when there happened to be a large group of drift cars that drove by. Graced by the presence of Matt Field in his demo Corvette and Chelsea Denofa in his 318ti. They were starting their off season drift week vacation. I almost peed.
I heard of drifting before, but Drifts n Lifts made me want to get into drifting

Initial D was my first drift experience like in 2006ish. But before that I stupidly called it rally slide, and that started with Gran Turismo 2 back in 2000.

I have a second-hand 1997 Gen-6 Celica (Not a GT4, just an FWD) with 132Hp and 1800cc. What modifications should I make to make to it?
I'm not really sure exactly what got me into drifting. I do know that the first; The Fast And Furious movie got me interested in cars, but a few times before that was my uncles red foxbody gt and my dads 87' grand prix 5.0 got me on the high horse. I remember my 12th birthday of my parents getting my The fast and the furious hot wheel style cars. I had a model of Brian's Supra. Then I started getting into anything that's fast. Supra, Supra, Supra!!!. 4g63!! I don't remember getting into drifting but I watched alot of rally. Ken block stood out. And at the same time there was drifting. And to this day... drag racing, rally, drifting, demolition derbys, roll racing, track racing, tractor pulls, diesel pulls, monster jam, stadium truck racing.......and too much other things to list. I love all racing sports but I have to say I have spent hours watching Formula Drift on live streams and watching 7 events in person not counting Midwest drift union and local track shenanigans.
The basic shorts and Adidas shoes hit too close to home. MN fan here!
