Han is seen chewing something all of the time because of his excessive smoking. The chips and such are used so he has something to keep his hands busy. It’s even acknowledged by Gisele In Fast Five
I'd remove a sin at 7:54 because those two guys on the dock are Kazutoshi Wadakura- the producer of the Initial D anime and Keiichu Tsuchiya- the real life Japanese Drift King
+1 fun fact, he was the stunt cordinator and also a stuntman. (for eg. he was driving the Evo at the canon scenes. You can find some behind the scenes videos of it)
Caponeson1 Lol a lot of movies are like this too. The old Spiderman movie part 1 with Toby Maguire. He was suppose to be in high school. He looked like in his 20’s but whatever.
Josh B wait need for speed the film with the worst remakes of 3 koenigsegg agera's and the most unrealistic end race( s7 550 bhp rwd, veyron ss 1200 bhp 4wd)
This guy obviously knows nothing about car culture there are multiple discrepancys like not knowing in America what drifting was in the early 2000s which it wasn't and is only now being recognized as a motor sport in most of the world
And they brought him back in the fourth film so it's as if Tokyo Drift should've been after the sixth film, it doesn't make sense, if they were gonna bring him back why have him get killed in this movie
It is the only fast and the furious where racing was the core of the plot. Racing is what sent him to japan, racing is what indebted him to Han and racing is what settled Han's debt to the yakuza. Meanwhile... The Fast and the Furious: a movie that is really about hijacking trucks of electronics 2 Fast 2 Furious: a movie that is really about taking down a drug cartel Fast and Furious a movie that is really about getting revenge......on a drug cartel Fast 5: a movie that is really about stealing millions of dollars......from a drug cartel Fast and Furious 6: a movie that is really about finding someone you thought was dead by defeating a crew hijacking electronics (ironic huh?) Furious 7: a movie that is really about not being killed by the brother of the asshole you fucked up in 6
I would love it if not for the overbearing 4 & 6 cyl tuners, they even went as far as to shove one of those toys in solid american muscle. But the story was honestly probably the best in the franchise.
Yes I know this is satire, but still: 3:46 1- those steering wheels are EXPENSIVE and if there’s other shit in that bag then it WILL get scratched up. 2- This is a very, very common style of modifying cars in japan. This is actually a pretty tame example. 3- Not a semen joke, he’s referring to a nosebleed (more or less the same idea though). It’s a japan thing, look it up. 4- There are actually car meets like this in japan, and a lot of them are actually in parking garages. I know this first hand, I’ve been to quite a few of them. 4:59 -Insurance gives you a big “fuck no” if they find out that you race. Also if they find out you race your health insurance goes WAY up too if it’s from the same company as your car insurance. 5:59 -fun fact, contrary to popular belief this stunt was NOT cgi. 6:38 -this is explained in a later movie (he used to smoke and tries to always keep his hands and mouth busy in an attempt to keep from starting to smoke again). 7:14 -yes, there are English-speaking schools for this very reason, but you’d be surprised how common it actually is for foreign kids to go to regular Japanese school. 7:28 -this was actually the case from the late 80s to the early 2000s. It was sort of an unspoken agreement between street racers and cops that so long as the street racers stoped racing if they came upon much of any traffic then the cops would leave them alone. Later on though (early 2000s) it was more of just that the cops reasoned that starting a chase to try and catch cars faster than them would put more people in danger than just letting them go. 7:38 -you don’t know the car community. 8:08 -again, it’s a japan thing, look up “kancho” and this will seem perfectly normal. 9:04 -depends on the tires you use and how much power your car has. Personally though I go through about 2-3 sets a month not including events. 9:16 -yes, this is actually how drifting was first invented, and yes, although there are technical aspects to drifting, you really do learn by feeling. It’s more akin to learning how to skateboard or ride a bike than it is to learning to to say play a musical instrument. 9:37 -Keichi Tsuchiya cameo (the guy in the blue jacket). He’s the real world Drift King (aka Dori Dori) and is commonly accredited with creating the sport of drifting in the first place. Look him up. 10:07 -it’s called tandems. It’s an actual thing and if fun as fuck. 10:10 -a lot of Japanese sports cars (dare I say most) are a 2+2 design (two doors with those tiny ass back seats that only midgets, small children, and double amputees can fit in). She probably hitched a ride with someone. 11:02 -drifting is almost always slower than gripping, UNLESS you either have very low traction in the first place (rain and ice), or you have a purpose built car with a welded diff. As you said though, the movie backed itself into a corner, but I’m guessing that these are all purpose built cars with welded diffs. 11:14 -you underestimate Japanese punctuality. 11:28 -nearly all the cars shown in this movie had roll cages, and all the cars that crashed in this movie were clearly shown to have roll cages 13:04 -linguistics 101. You pick up a language unbelievable quick when you’re constantly and fully immersed in it. 13:15 -the Mustang is a metaphor. American on the outside but Japanese at its heart (they swapped in the RB26 from Han’s S15, a legendary Japanese engine). 13:38 -nearly everyone who races has a home course, and the advantage you have when racing on your home course cannot be understated. 14:00 -technologically japan is 10 years ahead of the rest of the world. This was amplified in the 90s and early 2000s. 14:52 -on DK surviving, he would’ve been injured definitely, but as for surviving, again, roll cage. 15:29 -lawsuit prevention. You’d be surprised. Sin count should be 121. Again, I know it’s satire but this is one of my favorite movies of all time, I had to defend it. This is the movie (and initial D/wangan midnight of course) that got me into drifting and the Japanese car scene, and the Japanese car scene is one of the major things that inspired me to be minoring in Japanese in college, go on as many study abroads to japan as my college allows, and to be planning to move to japan after I complete my undergrad. So yea, I had to defend it by offering additional information and context to things that require some amount of knowledge about cars, japan, and cars in japan to fully understand and by making myself look like a know-it-all jackass in the process.
@@Quadruple-x Yeah Keiichi made almost all drift scene in the movie, also the producer told Keiichi to make is drift more sloppy when he was doing the Shawn drift part, cause he was too perfect.
I'll admit Tokyo Drift is my one guilty pleasure from this series. It was different, and when they finally introduced a movie with all new characters, it felt fresh. like it was back to being a street racing movie again rather than just a crime drama.
pretty much yeah, but I don't like the series itself as a whole so by guilty pleasure I mean I dislike the franchise but this is actually one of the only ones I own... plus a digital copy off fast 5 cause someone was selling a copy of theirs with the digital copy but took a pic of it and thus I went to see if it worked and it did. voila.
7:38 yes, you will take your eyes off girls to look at some beautiful cars. You see girls everyday, but not modified cars. All you see are corollas and priuses.
i get what you're trying to say but that analogy is so bad, the same thing could be said about girls. "you see cars everyday, but not beautiful women. all you see are skank whores and crack addicts"
he makes no sense yeah there is just a empty parking lot in middle of the day when people go to work and he just forgot all the crashes in the parking lot, it makes sense to actually drift in docks there is such a big space in the parking lot its narrow and he can damage his new evo overall he just picks on everything because he is an a##hole
This why I don't like the idea of casting 20-something year olds who look like they're in their 30's passing off as high-school teenagers. I mean, I could by that they looked like they've graduated from college, but not as high-school teenagers.
1: mascot goes around medal detector that’s why they are using hand detectors 2. It’s actually pretty easy for a baseball to break a windshield 3. Guy owns a project car so if course he’s going to have spare tools with him 1 minute in and already 3 false sins
Fun Fact: The Fisherman In Blue Is the Original Drift King, Keichii Tsuchiya! His first car was a Trueno AE86. And the character of Takumi Fujiwara(From Initial D)was based off of him as a young man. You're Welcome!
ドリフトスパッド/Slidey_Spud actually Orido was most known for crazy street drifting in the trueno. Orido and Tsuchiya are the only professional drivers that came up from the streets. I guess you can say Initial D was based off of them.
Same here, honestly in my top 3 movies of all time, and this dude doesn't know shit about the movie to be hating on it. Also, it was made in fucking 2006, it's not going to be the most accurate movie, as places change over the years, and cars as well.
The reason hanns character is always doing something with is mouth eating/chewing on something is he is a two pack a day smoker and they didnt want to show him having a relapse while on screen
Clifford Johnson partially false. He became an avid chain smoker for his role in Better Luck Tomorrow. They kept him munching to keep his hands and mouth busy so he wouldn’t light a smoke on film. But was free to smoke on set while the cameras were off.
You are mistaken about cell phones in Japan. In 2006, Japan had streaming multicast cellular video. Yes, the resolution was low by today's standards, but you could call a group of people and show them what you see. So if someone was at a particular vantage point, they could show the race to everyone else. Japan used to be years ahead of the US in cellular connectivity. It was also difficult to NOT have reception if you were anywhere near Tokyo (including the mountains in and nearby the cities).
BLU3_S7EEL that isnt exactly right. it is easier to afford a cell network when all of your customers live close together. until recently, americans mived further and further from cities, whereas japanese moved closer and closer. if 90's and 00's americans had preferred cities to suburbs, they could have had more advanced cell networks and high speed internet too. also, japan is larger that most US states, being about 1/3 the size of cali, that makes it larger than about 40 states.
Even assuming this is accurate enough an explanation. The cameras in those phones would not be good enough to get anywhere near a decent enough image at that low of light to make out the cars. At best it would have been a blur of black and white pixels that resembled headlights
Nah, they had some pretty cool camera phones out by 2006. This site shows the pinnacle of each year. www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/camera-phone-history/
One thing I am going to need to correct, an 18 yr old WILL TOTALLY "take his eyes off two beautiful women who are giving him attention to go look some at cars" especially those cars 7:39
Tokyo drift is my fav movie of all the F&F movies. Americans just weren't ready for what car scene waslike in japan when it came out. Now everyone is into the Japanese car scene. Also, this movie is accurate and believable about the car culture in japan because all of it does happen in japan. What about the F&F movie when they tried breaking into police station and dragging a vault around the city with 2 cars... that movie was pure 🤦♂️, at least Tokyo drift was based on true car events that do occur in japan.
Just because the idea and shot in the film are kind of silly. Just because it actually exists doesn't make tandem drifting any less stupid in the movie or otherwise.
Jeremy show to he doesn't understand motorsport so when he see that scene i bet to in his head he imagined synchronised drifting as a synchronised swimming or similar thingy and with whole concept of driving cars in that way in that type of road in which mistake could finish lethally his brain simply figured out word synchronised drifting and call that as a sin (joke, cough cough). Jesus, explanating this is harder than explanating memes. This is why i love Jeremy tho.
Okay, I'm pretty sure the next video is Everything Wrong With Moana. But now here's my question: Will CinemaSins do a Everything Wrong With Final Destination and their sequels? Because there's pretty much a HUGE amount of Sins of "fuck physics"
There's a scene in THE Final Destination or other sequel that I can guarantee its a Sin: F*cking WHY there's a huge quantity of flamale barrels behind a movie Theater?? Did someone who was working said: "Hey, what we gonna do with those dangerous flamable barrels some dumbass put here?" And the other said: "I know, lets put all of them bhind the theater. Is not like it's gonna explode own its own, right? Right?"
Sin 14 - the wrench from the first scene is way smaller than the one from the "fight" scene Sin 38 - actualy there are car meetings like this in Tokyo Sin 76 - it's true that the police cars in japan can't do more than 112 mph or 180 kph for speeds greter than that they use speed cameras Sin 102 - WTF, whats wrong with tandem drifting? And allot more sins that i didn't saw. Man you should stay away from car related movies!
Sin 38 - Its pretty much impossible to have a car meet with this dimension in a parking garage, in Tokyo Sin 76 - Youre completely wrong, you have never seen a fleet of japanese police cars have you
like the 1 with damage on the old car by going threw planks, the truck and more those are also false, yea the old car going threw planks they could added scratches and things but its not an car made of alluminium, it can take some damage, before it shows, the truck. is a dodge ram, big engine, and was driving before they started to drive, and its 4x4 which makes launch better, and a whole lot more as you wrote
@@ravenyzf8293 search up "Fresh Tokyo Car Meet", it made the news from how huge the meeting was and it was in a parking garage. It's also just a video worth watching if you like that sort of thing
DispleasedGod what the fuck are you talking about...most of the sins are literally about the dialogue and the movie itself and has nothing to do with cars
ardvacadoful both fishermen are famius old school drifters. they also appear on tge airplane along with tanner faust who did some of the driving stuntwork.
He actually drifted the Mitsu in the scenes where the guy was learning how to drift on the mountains. The issue was, he was so skilled he had troubles making his driving look sloppy enough.
Side note: I actually learned how to drive stick from the Fast and Furious arcade game. Once I got that down, I inherited my grandfather's really old Ford and needed basically no training to drive it. Who says video games can't teach real-world skills?
@Mustang Bullitt ikr ben didnt mean it was a good car, he just said that it was wrong to say the truck cant keep up. so i also wonder what he means with Its still a shit car, like what does it have to do with sin 18
@@alecfox9784 it dosent matter when it comes to racing 8lb equals 1whp that truck is minimum 1500lb more then the viper it should have been able to pass easily
I actually liked this movie. The plot was shit, the actors were sub-par, but it was the only one of the franchise in my opinion to be about racing, and not about some vengeance story.
Loring - I hate to burst your bubble but drifting is NOT “racing”. Only on a dirt track is this style of driving the fastest way to get around the course. On asphalt however driving in this manner only slows you down, which means you are not going to win any races driving this way. Drifting is more about looking “cool” and thereby overcompensating for deep-seated insecurities than it is about getting around a track in the fastest time possible. Although it is fun to do as well of course.
Yep, it's more about style and speed. Drifting itself takes calculations such as knowing what speed you need to go to be able to safely get around one corner to the next, if not right you could fishtail and smash into something or do a 180.
That’s not necessarily true. A good example is rallying, where cars are basically drifting constantly. While what you said is technically true, it can actually be quicker and safer to drift on loose terrain compared to slowing down drastically before turning because of how impossible it could be to stop efficiently on sand and whatnot. Drifting makes it possible to maintain your momentum and maintain a decent amount of speed and control. btw, I am not a professional driver or physicist but I have done a decent amount of both in academic/semi-competitive situations
The truck is actually a Dodge Ram SRT-10, which has an 8.3 L V10 (same engine as a Viper), and it set the world record for the world's fastest production truck. It should be able to keep up with the Viper (same engine) and the Monte Carlo without struggling. +2 sins for CinemaSins for not figuring that out.
Here is a sin: Japan, one of the most homogenous countries ethnically, seems to have no Japanese people in it. Sung Kang is Korean-American, Nathalie Kelley is white and Peruvian, and we have tons of whites and a Bow Wow running around. The only major character with some Japanese heritage is Brian Tee...he is half Japanese and half Korean. Also the movie stars the legendary Sonny Chiba...poor Sonny.
leigy100 Yeah! Keiko Kitagawa is the girl who plugged in the laptop to the RX-8 in the parking lot scene, she CAN speak English and is a major drama actress in Japan (possibly not then, but why would they scout her in the first place?) I really like seeing her there but god, I really wished she had more lines, but she just ended up on deleted scenes...
Jay Pay Lol Tacky cars I think you need to stop watching car movies as well. All the cars in this movie are legendary Japanese cars. Except the Volkswagen lol.
Lmao I think you need to remember what year this movie was made in. Also in Japan they literally don't give two fucks what anyone thinks I've seen some pretty crazy looking mods in Japan they honestly don't care dude. Also the Mustang an Atrocity? That thing has an RB26DETT swap in it what the fuck are you talking about atrocity lol. It would be one thing if they swapped the V8 out for an RB, but the car had no engine in it anyway.
Lol you sound so fake dude. If you ever been to Japan you'd know Japan did have a faze like that and they still do now. They also do the same thing to lambo's with neons and body kits what makes you think they didn't do it to regular Japanese domestic cars lol. Also there's absolutely nothing wrong with putting a RB26DETT into a solid rear axle car and drifting it you act like a RB26DETT couldn't make the car go sideways also it's pretty obvious the car doesn't only have 300hp judging by the setup in the movie probably a bit more than that obviously. Also what do you expect? It's a Holly wood movie most people who watch F&F don't know shit about cars. I honestly couldn't really give two fucks about the movie or what you think about the movie as that's your opinion, but when it comes to cars like the mustang you thinking a RB26DETT mustang is some how atrocious sounds fucking retarded lol. Many people have done similar swaps with 2JZGTE's or 1JZ's into mustangs just to piss muscle heads off and I think this would be a good example of it lol. th-cam.com/video/s0MDY9fl-IA/w-d-xo.html Here's a video of Japanese car culture in general. They also have neon Lamborghini's as well just like I said earlier in my paragraph. th-cam.com/video/LnP_In85sWs/w-d-xo.html Or even this.
Jay Pay I wouldn't really say educated as you think a 370hp RB26DETT swapped fast back is some how bad because of 1/4 mile times and weight. Also that's Okinawa what do you expect? Go to Tokyo. I think you're the one who needs to get educated as well. Also not to mention a fast back is not over 4000lbs lmao. A 1967 mustang came from 2,635lbs to 3000lbs depending on the motor. And considering they put a RB in there I'm guessing the weight is obviously lower than 3000. I'd also like to mention Japanese swing around stock JZX100's which weigh at 3,263lbs which come stock with a 1JZGTE engine with a power out put of 276bhp stock. So what makes you think a sub 3000lbs mustang with 370hp can't drift? Or it being "Practical". Also here's a video of a bone stock JZX100 drifting effortlessly skip to 10:00 to see I don't care if you don't watch it that's on you. th-cam.com/video/EhUZ7CZRcIQ/w-d-xo.html And here's proof as well it's bone stock so don't try to make an argument out of questioning me. th-cam.com/video/EhUZ7CZRcIQ/w-d-xo.html
I'm sure there is something that can be said about putting a Japanese engine (RB26DETT) into an American muscle car. Maybe the team behind the movie wanted revenge after so many people put a V8 into an RX-7.
sorry, just have to clarify why Sean says "I wasn't negotiating" he was implying that in fact.. he wasn't, take it or leave it ( kill me ), he implies it jokingly, but means it, as he has literally nothing to lose, and Han sees that in him, which is why he decides to completely take him under his wing... it's called Gumption.
Also, Sean is hans kryptonite.. nothing like some young gap wearing tourist to make casual faux pas in a pachinko parlour where Han knows Sean wont get attacked for fear of driving away tourists That factor.. but its hard to portray apart from not wearing ubaki they would have to equip Sean with a ridiculous camera like in Euro Trip (although a side quest could have been to Tokyo's red light district where he gets a free shirt from the Hentai Harlem and gets his camera taken)
Nicholas Carrillo exactly brotha it was a funny video and good and all but I wish they were car enthusiasts, they would acknowledge all the races and everything in them
Sin 38.... Actually yes they were able to fill that car lot because that was an actual drift event that regularly took place in Tokyo at the time and they had allowed the cameras in and so on to do the film. The only pieces not technically real are the actors we see and their cars. Every other person and every other car including the first two cars you see drift just after Sean asks what that is, is actually real.
Rhys Taylor - That’s funny because I lived in Tokyo for 5-years in the 90’s and I never heard anything about this. And I’m afraid the enforcement of traffic laws is just way to strict in Tokyo for this type activity to occur there. I actually have a friend who used to be in one of those car gangs back in the late 70’s when they would form convoys consisting of hundred of members driving their highly (and stupidly) modified cars down back country roads - that is before the police finally started cracking down on this sort of activity. Even back then though I don’t think they would have tried coming into Tokyo because their cars would probably be impounding for being highly illegal. Today you might still find some people either drifting or racing on back country roads in Japan but you will not see this happening in Tokyo. Come to think of it, you would rarely, if ever, even see that kind of parking garage in Tokyo. Because land is so expensive in Tokyo most of the parking structures are actually like giant vending machines for cars. You drive your car onto a ramp and then a machine inserts it into a slot somewhere in the structure. There is no place to actually drive or even to walk in the structure however.
@@SLOBeachboy thats weird because i personally know people who attend events like this in Tokyo. Use this wonderful site of TH-cam and look up "Tokyo parking garage car meet". Eat your worda.
Well, I just did a search as you suggested but I did not see a single car “drifting” around corners in a parking garage in any of the events I saw. And lets face it, “drifting” or racing in parking structures in Tokyo, like in the movie, is what this whole argument was about to begin with. Furthermore, ALL of these parking structures are on the far outskirts of Tokyo and are not in Tokyo proper, just as I suspected. It might be possible to get away with some racing in this particular area but I doubt if any of the Japanese guys would try it and risk having the police crack down on the events. And frankly, the retarded modification on a lot of these cars would render them unstable and unsafe for racing or even "drifting".
@@TheRenegadeRC - LMAO! Actual petrolheads have been laughing at the F&F franchise from the start. Only ricers, pretend car-enthusiasts and people who know little to nothing about cars think its anywhere near "realistic". The same sort of people who think pro-wrestling is unscripted or believable.
@@kuyt20 Actually, from what I've seen Tokyo Drift is the favorite for many petrolheads because although the plot line is ridiculous, it is the movie that is most about cars and racing and shows the Japanese car world pretty well. For muscle or euro people, I understand that this movie wasn't for them but for JDM lovers, this was awesome to see people drifting everywhere especially the mountains (Where touge was invented). Everyone knows the movies not possible but its nice to see that portrayal of japanese car culture.
Things you sinned that should not have been sinned: 1. About the cell phones: In Japan, mobile technology "evolved" on a different path than it did here in the US. Nearly every single cell phone in Japan is completely waterproof by default and have all the features of smartphones, despite still having flip phone bodies. 2. The fishermen (one is Keiichi Tsuchiya, the real Drift King) 3. That thing about cop cars (Japan has always had Skyline GT-Rs in their police car pool, since the R32) and they now have some R35 GT-Rs. 3.5. Also in Japan, police cars always have their light bars ON at night, even if not chasing someone (as a reminder that the law is ever-present). 4. The drift for a phone number thing: Of course that's how you get a number in a drifting community.
Having worked in Japan in 2004-5 they actually did have 386Kb streaming video over cellphone network. So you would see kids watching full motion video on small cellphone screens all over the place.
He put the wrench back because he wasn’t going to fight for someone else but when he’s threatened by the football players he has no problem fighting for himself it’s part of his character arc to shown how much he’s grown at the end of the movie
Hey Jeremy, did you know John McCain's wife drifts? Yeah there was a whole 60 Minutes on her "quirky habit." Also that "synchronized drifting" is called tandem drifting. It's pretty badass in reality. You'd swear some drivers were linked via Pacific Rim-style twin siblings bullshit to stay in sync.
I like how almost every single big sin of this movie could be easily justified if you know anything about cars atleast 20 sins of this movie would be off if he knew about cars
Remove another 10 due to jom not knowing how much faster tech advances in Japan. Like jowntjet had VCRS in Japan on the mid 70s, and they didn't hit the US until the early 80s. Cds in 81 there, and 85 here, DVD in 92, and they didn't really catch on here until the late 90s.
5:00 I find this party even funnier when you realize that after fast six, Han actually does have tons of disposable income, and most likely wouldn’t care if his car got wrecked.
Saul Lopez not the same engine, same amount of pistons but the cylinder heads and blocks weren’t titanium like in the ram they were aluminum in the viper
One SIN that you forgot, is the fact when Sean was "Honking the horn" through the crowd of people, you can CLEARLY see there IS NO HORN in the middle of that kind of steering wheel. Its a racing wheel that is nothing but solid metal in the middle. LMAO. I noticed that the first time i watched the movie.
@@jamaphy8621 Tokyo drift chronologically takes place after Fast5 and in fast5, Han helps Dom’s crew Steal 100 million dollars in Brazil and Han and the crew each get 11 million dollars which means in Tokyo drift, Han could still have tons of money left
Marc Fonrose the viper was gaining on it anyway and in a straight line it would still be somewhat close. Not for very long, but early on its realistic enough.
Depends on gearing and aero because a viper has less weight has probably better gearing and will have much better aero. It also depends on if the vipers built because that looks like a 90s and I think the srt10 ram had a few updates to the engine so it might accel better vs that viper.
you've watched too much initial d man. a low speed first or second gear drift can be initiated by clutch kick. a high speed drift you have to lock up the rear wheel whether by hand brake or hydro e brake. otherwise simply by gassing the car to slide thats powerslide not drift
When I was in High School, one of my teachers pretty much said "fuck it" and played this movie near the end of the school year for the class. It feels like a 10/10 movie when you're that young.
I catch so much hate for this. But has been my favorite of the entire series/franchise. Some people say it's not even part of Fast and the Furious, BUT carries the name.
Christian4life86 It definitely is apart of the F&F series. It’s showing a different side and market of cars and I know that many other people loved this movie. It’s definitely misplaced for when it was released but it’s a classic and is honestly one of the best in the series
Lucas Black is a serious talent. I would be happy to see him in more serious endeavours. Watch "Crazy in Alabama" or "Deep Waters." His roles are so entire and sincere. I really believed that he would break through. Well, he's still young. I hope he will!
Man y'all don't even know. The bonus feature commentary the director says han would be smoking in almost every scene in the last movie he was in(which was directed by the same director), so going to filming in a huge professional studio where you can't smoke, he needed a fix, hence all the snacking
Actually with the wrenches the real cinema sin is that in the credit scene when he's working on his car he's using a 13/16" wrench and the one he drops in the box is a 17mm.. the wrench he had in the parking lot was a 1¼" so it was a different wrench he just had in his car.
mr42ndstblvd so is it impossible for someone's "old high school" to now be abandoned? Hence the phrase "my old high school" and not "my current high school".
mr42ndstblvd Most doesnt mean all... Disney shot a movie at my high school last year and that high school is the largest school in the entire region that is still functioning.

The one fast and the furious movie that has the most racing and is also the most hated.
Antonio Alvarez i know hypocrites it's my favourite though .
It is the only fast and the furious where racing was the core of the plot. Racing is what sent him to japan, racing is what indebted him to Han and racing is what settled Han's debt to the yakuza. Meanwhile...
The Fast and the Furious: a movie that is really about hijacking trucks of electronics
2 Fast 2 Furious: a movie that is really about taking down a drug cartel
Fast and Furious a movie that is really about getting revenge......on a drug cartel
Fast 5: a movie that is really about stealing millions of dollars......from a drug cartel
Fast and Furious 6: a movie that is really about finding someone you thought was dead by defeating a crew hijacking electronics (ironic huh?)
Furious 7: a movie that is really about not being killed by the brother of the asshole you fucked up in 6
I would love it if not for the overbearing 4 & 6 cyl tuners, they even went as far as to shove one of those toys in solid american muscle. But the story was honestly probably the best in the franchise.
It's because the characters, writing, and plot are garbage. Cool cars though.
+Vyppaaa11 I mean racing was still quite relevant to the plot in 1, 2, and 4. But with 5, 6, and 7, it just seemed more like car battling.

Yes I know this is satire, but still:
3:46 1- those steering wheels are EXPENSIVE and if there’s other shit in that bag then it WILL get scratched up.
11:28 -nearly all the cars shown in this movie had roll cages, and all the cars that crashed in this movie were clearly shown to have roll cages
13:04 -linguistics 101.

@@jamesliggins891 Yes and what about it??🙄🤣🤣
You are mistaken about cell phones in Japan.
Well it is a lot easier to build a cell network in a country that's smaller than some US states, than the third largest country in the world
BLU3_S7EEL that isnt exactly right. it is easier to afford a cell network when all of your customers live close together. until recently, americans mived further and further from cities, whereas japanese moved closer and closer. if 90's and 00's americans had preferred cities to suburbs, they could have had more advanced cell networks and high speed internet too. also, japan is larger that most US states, being about 1/3 the size of cali, that makes it larger than about 40 states.

Just because the idea and shot in the film are kind of silly. Just because it actually exists doesn't make tandem drifting any less stupid in the movie or otherwise.

Because all drifting is a sin. Dumbest 'sport' ever...

because people in the USA go to mexico to do street racing, it was to imply how Han has something similar to Sean away from cars
"Don't lie to me! I can smell it on your breath!" XD
James H Every time I see that part of the movie, I think: .....Have you been racing Shawn?....You smell like tires.
I actually liked this movie. The plot was shit, the actors were sub-par, but it was the only one of the franchise in my opinion to be about racing, and not about some vengeance story.
Loring agree
i kinda liked this movie all round........
It was important for the plot of han that was the whole point...and you really think this isn't about vengeance
When only one movie is about racing and all other seven are Not... dont you think that you look at the Franchise in a wrong way?
Loring - I hate to burst your bubble but drifting is NOT “racing”. Only on a dirt track is this style of driving the fastest way to get around the course. On asphalt however driving in this manner only slows you down, which means you are not going to win any races driving this way. Drifting is more about looking “cool” and thereby overcompensating for deep-seated insecurities than it is about getting around a track in the fastest time possible. Although it is fun to do as well of course.
Sin 103 “synchronized drifting” TANDEMS THEY ARE CALLED TANDEMS
And theyre not a sin, theyre a godsend
Bastian Nybø yes
Maybe he doesn't like it. It also didn't really look like a tandem that was performed well and synchronized drifting is actually accurate.
Jack Jordan there is no reason for this to be a sin tandems are basically the whole purpose of fd
You forget to sin Sean being 18, when he looks like 35...although he is only 24 in 2006. Dude looks OLD.
fun fact: drifting is literally the slowest way to get around a corner, and when I found that out I was depressed as shit
Jesse Herring while that may be true, it's certainly the most fun way.
Yep, it's more about style and speed. Drifting itself takes calculations such as knowing what speed you need to go to be able to safely get around one corner to the next, if not right you could fishtail and smash into something or do a 180.
probably why vin diesel beat him so easy in the race at the end
That’s not necessarily true. A good example is rallying, where cars are basically drifting constantly. While what you said is technically true, it can actually be quicker and safer to drift on loose terrain compared to slowing down drastically before turning because of how impossible it could be to stop efficiently on sand and whatnot. Drifting makes it possible to maintain your momentum and maintain a decent amount of speed and control.
btw, I am not a professional driver or physicist but I have done a decent amount of both in academic/semi-competitive situations
Merquades knows what he is talking about! :)
5:29 and 7:02 Sung Kang is/was a heavy smoker and they had to let him eat snacks constantly as a substitute while filming.
The truck is actually a Dodge Ram SRT-10, which has an 8.3 L V10 (same engine as a Viper), and it set the world record for the world's fastest production truck. It should be able to keep up with the Viper (same engine) and the Monte Carlo without struggling.

I think you need to stay away from car movies
Jay Pay this was the best car movie all the FF movies are all about action now this one was actually races
Many people have done similar swaps with 2JZGTE's or 1JZ's into mustangs just to piss muscle heads off and I think this would be a good example of it lol.
th-cam.com/video/s0MDY9fl-IA/w-d-xo.html
Here's a video of Japanese car culture in general. They also have neon Lamborghini's as well just like I said earlier in my paragraph.
th-cam.com/video/LnP_In85sWs/w-d-xo.html
Or even this.
Also here's a video of a bone stock JZX100 drifting effortlessly skip to 10:00 to see I don't care if you don't watch it that's on you.
th-cam.com/video/EhUZ7CZRcIQ/w-d-xo.html
And here's proof as well it's bone stock so don't try to make an argument out of questioning me.
th-cam.com/video/EhUZ7CZRcIQ/w-d-xo.html
I'm sure there is something that can be said about putting a Japanese engine (RB26DETT) into an American muscle car.
Maybe the team behind the movie wanted revenge after so many people put a V8 into an RX-7.
They even entirely made one, it was sold off later
Those Wankles are money pits. If you have the money to throw at it, theyre great.
dude, everyone knows an LS7 (even LS9) is the best swap investment into an rx7.
The mustang got the rb26dett because that was the engine from the Mona Lisa that they took out and put in the mustang
@@TRU_Pc wait what the dorito swapped a silvia? Why?
sorry, just have to clarify why Sean says "I wasn't negotiating" he was implying that in fact.. he wasn't, take it or leave it ( kill me ), he implies it jokingly, but means it, as he has literally nothing to lose, and Han sees that in him, which is why he decides to completely take him under his wing... it's called Gumption.
Also, Sean is hans kryptonite.. nothing like some young gap wearing tourist to make casual faux pas in a pachinko parlour where Han knows Sean wont get attacked for fear of driving away tourists
That factor.. but its hard to portray apart from not wearing ubaki they would have to equip Sean with a ridiculous camera like in Euro Trip (although a side quest could have been to Tokyo's red light district where he gets a free shirt from the Hentai Harlem and gets his camera taken)
cinema sins obviously not a car enthusiast
Shmokey 57 yeah they'd acknowledge Tsuchiya Keiichi if they were.
and the other guys was the producer of the initial D anime
Nicholas Carrillo exactly brotha it was a funny video and good and all but I wish they were car enthusiasts, they would acknowledge all the races and everything in them
well, this is about what the movie does wrong and the dialog is really retarded
Nicholas Carrillo didn’t know that non car guys watch F&F
You do know that the parking garage scenes were shot in Hawthorne, California. The crew just set it up to look like japanese.
@@SLOBeachboy yeah i said car meets not drift events dude.
Everything wrong with the fast and the furious Tokyo Drift:
Absolutely nothing
i dont think that you know the sense of sins
6'666 Subs with 1 video? LMFaO
Character wise yes there ton of sins but car wise sins mostly no since this guy doesn't know he talking about for majority of car related things
I'd usually agree with these videos but this time i definitely agree with your opinion instead
Exactly remember when this guy said the police would chase one car driving fast with a helicopter
1:22 ALSO ALSO ALSO ALSO the shot from the Sean’s car from up in the air shows that the rear window isn’t broken after the baseball throw
This guy is obviously clueless when it comes to cars
Nic Wheel he never said he knew anything about Cars
Nathan Adams thats why he doesn’t understand the movie...
Yeah he didnt sin the fact that a rb26 got dropped into a mustang
Things you sinned that should not have been sinned:
1. About the cell phones: In Japan, mobile technology "evolved" on a different path than it did here in the US. Nearly every single cell phone in Japan is completely waterproof by default and have all the features of smartphones, despite still having flip phone bodies.
2. The fishermen (one is Keiichi Tsuchiya, the real Drift King)
2. Is not a faux. So what if it is a cameo. Has nothing to do with his point.
Having worked in Japan in 2004-5 they actually did have 386Kb streaming video over cellphone network. So you would see kids watching full motion video on small cellphone screens all over the place.
Evan Pokroy didn't some old Japanese flip phones have antennas for watching live tv?
Evan Pokroy the good ol' Dorados
He put the wrench back because he wasn’t going to fight for someone else but when he’s threatened by the football players he has no problem fighting for himself it’s part of his character arc to shown how much he’s grown at the end of the movie
Hey Jeremy, did you know John McCain's wife drifts? Yeah there was a whole 60 Minutes on her "quirky habit."
Also that "synchronized drifting" is called tandem drifting. It's pretty badass in reality. You'd swear some drivers were linked via Pacific Rim-style twin siblings bullshit to stay in sync.
BeBobFerrari99 Wow you've inspired me to look up several things today
But can I tandem drift on a tandem bicycle?
yeah not a fan of drifting at all im a straight line drag kinda guy but even i have to admit that tandem drifting is awsome.
thats funny, you made me push air qiuckly trough my nose, left a like on your comment
Actually, Han did have a lot of money from the heist in Fast 5 so...... you receive the sin
TMCNIC 123 the sin is that he spends it randomly on a random kid, not that he doesn't have it. Disposable income.
I believe negative at least 1 sin for not recognising Keiichi Tsuchiya cameo
The real question is, why did he continue to do gangster shit after becoming a millionare, and even worse why did he steal from the fucking Yakuza.
You forgot that they messed with the timeline of this movie
Like alot
I like how almost every single big sin of this movie could be easily justified if you know anything about cars
atleast 20 sins of this movie would be off if he knew about cars
Minus 5 sins for having the real drift king in the docks scene
I was thinking the same thing throughout the video lol.
@@Jake_Garcia and the mountain learning scenes too
@@Jake_Garcia mr tsuchiya, prob spelt wrong but true dk
Remove another 10 due to jom not knowing how much faster tech advances in Japan. Like jowntjet had VCRS in Japan on the mid 70s, and they didn't hit the US until the early 80s. Cds in 81 there, and 85 here, DVD in 92, and they didn't really catch on here until the late 90s.
5:00 I find this party even funnier when you realize that after fast six, Han actually does have tons of disposable income, and most likely wouldn’t care if his car got wrecked.
7:37 When you're clearly not in to cars hahaha.
MrFoulksy Hahahha .

This sins review could of been a lot better if he knew more about car culture like he could of added the fact that evos are AWD not rear wheel
Ivanrhg95 well you can drivetrain swap buddy, so I'm just gonna assume you're new to the car scene 😋
The Sin for the truck should be removed. That’s an SRT-10 Dodge Ram. It’s has an 8.3 liter V10 Dodge Viper engine in it
"Wow, you can read the brochure."
Srt are bad bitches I'd kill for one
Saul Lopez not the same engine, same amount of pistons but the cylinder heads and blocks weren’t titanium like in the ram they were aluminum in the viper
Not a viper engine.
No production car has ever had a Ti block or heads....ever lmao.
9:37
That's Keiichi Tsuchiya, the real Drift King. LOL.
Awesome, thanks for pointing that out. Never noticed him before.
Shrihari Hudli it's on the movie behind the scenes
One SIN that you forgot, is the fact when Sean was "Honking the horn" through the crowd of people, you can CLEARLY see there IS NO HORN in the middle of that kind of steering wheel. Its a racing wheel that is nothing but solid metal in the middle. LMAO. I noticed that the first time i watched the movie.
Han *does* have a lot of disposable cash after Rio.
Yeah lol
I don’t get it
@@jamaphy8621 Tokyo drift chronologically takes place after Fast5 and in fast5, Han helps Dom’s crew

Giovanni Cheng movie not the best but it does have some of the best car scenes. Also just love it cause it's a drift movie
Sin 19, that truck actually has the same engine as the Dodge Viper with it being a Dodge Ram SRT-10, so it will keep up
But it weighs over a ton..
@melon mate if its a regular v10 it isnt shit compared to the srt 10 lmao
Rex Medina it is the srt10 engine. It’s literally the same one as the viper.
“You can always say hello to meet women that also works”

have you ever seen the actual car scene in Tokyo? yes those garages get jam packed at night
and yes, cars get priorities over girls, especially rare Japanese cars

Super RedNova No average person will be able to afford a pagani huayra
This was the only Fast and Furious where you had to be a car enthusiast to understand and like
That is true
Now heres my question.. wheres all the hydro e brakes?
Petarazhanix lol true
You don't need a hydro handbrake at all to drift. You don't even need a regular handbrake. All you need is weight transfer
you've watched too much initial d man. a low speed first or second gear drift can be initiated by clutch kick. a high speed drift you have to lock up the rear wheel whether by hand brake or hydro e brake. otherwise simply by gassing the car to slide thats powerslide not drift
4:03 yes in japan car enthusiasts can definitely takeover a parking lot at night
Chris Bell thats what i was going to say and same here in the us
When I was in High School, one of my teachers pretty much said "fuck it" and played this movie near the end of the school year for the class. It feels like a 10/10 movie when you're that young.
It may sound dumb but when you’re driving, you do FEEL it when you’re drifting
S I G N I A hea the type of guy to floor it while taking a corner, hear his tires squeal a little before esc takes over and call it drifting
10/10 it makes you FEEL like Spiderman
As ridiculous as it is, and despite the presence of Bow Wow, this F&F ended up being my favorite.
bow wow sucks, and this movie was trash
I catch so much hate for this. But has been my favorite of the entire series/franchise. Some people say it's not even part of Fast and the Furious, BUT carries the name.
I like it the best of the franchise, too! You need to check out *Need For Speed...* it's better than all of the Fast & Furious movies!
Christian4life86 It definitely is apart of the F&F series. It’s showing a different side and market of cars and I know that many other people loved this movie. It’s definitely misplaced for when it was released but it’s a classic and is honestly one of the best in the series
Willie D. Washington definitely isn’t ?
@Willie D. Washington, No!!! Need For Speed movie is a pile of trash compared to fast & the Furious. That whole story just made no sense.
I love this movie the most. But sin 35 bothers me a shit ton. As a car guy, if I saw a sparco steering wheel Id be asking too if he's selling it.
Lucas Black is a serious talent. I would be happy to see him in more serious endeavours. Watch "Crazy in Alabama" or "Deep Waters." His roles are so entire and sincere. I really believed that he would break through. Well, he's still young. I hope he will!
Bro he sucks in this movie😂
It's funny listening to a non car guy saying why they keep in drifting on the mountain it's called touge
gaynor wallworth 7:37 also shows that too 😂
Tóge is one-on-one mountain-pass racing not drifting on mountain roads.
" a touge" touge means mountain road not mountain
I see you get your knowledge from Initial D
But everyone knows an 86 can beat r32's, evo's EVEN A FUCKING CAPPUCCINO
" DK chose this road for a reason. This is his mountain"

That guys actually a chain smoker but the movie rating wouldn't allow it...so that's the constant snacking. (Actually true)
'that guy' u mean Han
Nah bruh, its because Han stopped smoking. Have you even watched the other F&F movies?
Man y'all don't even know. The bonus feature commentary the director says han would be smoking in almost every scene in the last movie he was in(which was directed by the same director), so going to filming in a huge professional studio where you can't smoke, he needed a fix, hence all the snacking
Never knew Han was apart of the Chainsmoker.
Shay Ogun in the film better luck tommorow Han is constantly smoking due to his personal problems
No points taken off for “or the only thing you’ll be driving is a wheelchair?”
Actually with the wrenches the real cinema sin is that in the credit scene when he's working on his car he's using a 13/16" wrench and the one he drops in the box is a 17mm.. the wrench he had in the parking lot was a 1¼" so it was a different wrench he just had in his car.
The wrench was a different size all mechanics speak soft and carry a big wrench
What's funny is that this movie was shot at my old high school and occasionally they do bring out metal detectors at the front gate.
Exactly... why do you think it's abandoned? They made a movie with a muscle car that had a RB26DETT Engine... WHY?!?
mr42ndstblvd so is it impossible for someone's "old high school" to now be abandoned? Hence the phrase "my old high school" and not "my current high school".
mr42ndstblvd Most doesnt mean all... Disney shot a movie at my high school last year and that high school is the largest school in the entire region that is still functioning.
Jeff Scholman I think they tried to make peace between JDM and muscle lovers. Idk if that worked back then, but it would totally backfire today.
The fact American schools need metal detectors is a sin in it self so *Ding*
That end scene, I think that's the widest Vin Diesel has ever opened his mouth while speaking.
