Get a good diff and suspension and go. Then build up as your skill does. I miss drift sessions! They closed our track a long time ago though. And in Hawaii, you can’t drive to the next track over...

I have a 99 mustang and it was raining really hard one night. This is my first experience with oversteer in a car. I was making a right turn at an intersection and I barely touched the gas pedal and that was when I felt the whole back end go loose. My immediate thought was, "well... this is happening." I knew what to do in theory but I had never actually done any drifting in real life and so I start counter steering the other way then the car swings around the other way and I counter steer at full lock looking at a curb. Some how I get it to go strait an didn't damage anything but it definitely was a wake up experience.

My first serious attempt at street drifting launched me through a major intersection, ripping a few belts, and going nose first into someone's fence and missing an underground switch gear box for electrical infrastructure(I know this now because I'm an Electrical Engineer). Remember there is some light snow on the road and whole car spins and the driver desperately trying to get in control. Eventually he slowed down and my other friend in the backseat stopped screaming. He didn’t drive no more Crazy night!
My best drifting story was in January. I was in my little 5 speed corolla thinking i was cool stuff drifting during a snowstorm. I was on my way back to the parking lot driving through campus when i saw THE corner i gave it some gas ripped the e-brake.... over corrected once, then again, then slammed the side of my car into a tree :) now i have a gray door on my red corolla 😅
My first drifting story started in the worst possible way, 18 years old, highschool, with a 1987 MR2, Snap Steer everywhere. Later I had an Infiniti M30 and that handled like it was built to slide. I haven't owned a RWD car since then but I often think about getting an NA miata because my friend has one and that thing no matter how weak or girly looking is just more fun than just about any other cheap car.

My first driftcar was a welded BMW E36 318is, best starter ever. First time drifting felt really natural and it was really easy to do. After I build a Hydro in it every turn became fun.
It starts snowing in November here, and grass comes back in June. If you want to gitgud, move to a place where it snows a lot and only drive rwd. It makes going to work fun!
One of the first drift attempts for me, took a turn when a red light turned green, overcorrected myself, jumped the curb and took out a no parking sign with my fender. Bad times man
Dude I feel like your watching me drift my 2009 corolla every winter 😂 I mean it’s not really even drifting for us fwd corolla drivers it’s more power sliding but hey we’re trying out here.
I did tile at a school during winter in ND so end of the night I'd have a huge empty parking lot with about a foot of snow, most fun I've had in my awd Lexus lol.

My first time i was introduced to drifting was with my day and his service van... we pulled in this banks parking lot that had snow and he smiled said hang on and pointed the nose of the 1 tonne van at the bank all the way around and snapped it back right before we got the to drive through window of this bank.... it was the strangest feeling ever
First time I ever drifted a car was my 2002 Mazda Protege by accident. I was on my way to work and it was snowing. I was going from one highway to another and the road curved 180°. At the beginning of the turn I lost grip & almost went into the ditch. Somehow I managed to control the car all the way around the turn for a pretty damn sweet drift. Never thought I'd ever drift a front wheel drive car 😂 scared the sh*t out of me at first but once I noticed I had control I calmed down and took that turn like a boss.
Watched what looked like a 80's fiesta whip it back and forth on a wide kind of empty 4 lane street right in front of me last winter, it was pretty impressive till they accidentally curbed the back of their car on like the fourth "swing" and quickly dissapeared down a side street. But they went all 4 lanes when they were whipping it every time so massive respect
I remember when I tried to initiate a skid with the e-brake and later a Scandinavian flick with my BMW at the time and couldn't really get it to loose traction because, after 10 attempts, I've realised that idiot old me didn't disable traction control :) One button pushed later and did some nice little clouds of smoke. :)

I like how you mention the kunimitsu guy, because most people think its the tsuya guy
Drifted my car in an intersection in mexico, noticed there was a cop and pulled over to the side and put my hazards on and proceeded to pretend it was accidental (raining) the guy asked me if i was ok and gave me tips on how to take turns better in the rain 😅🤟🏽
I used to put cheap ass almost bald tires on my lifted 1993 Jeep Cherokee XJ...never have I had so much before In my life. Looking back on it now, my nice looking GTI still doesn't match to the foolery and how much that jeep would take a beating and still look fantastic and get me home.
I have a stock 350z HR roadster and I got it with 8 year old dry rotted tired that had ALL their tread. I wanted to learn to drift... but I also had no choice, because I found my self sliding just trying to pass somebody! I also live in FL where it rains every two days, so I started picking it up pretty quick. I can hold some decent angle now comfortably and have some fresh tired that make the road much less Icy 👍
i had a 2017 chevy colorado few years ago, took it to walmart lot in December where there was 2ft snow here in illinois. Did bunch of donuts until hit one of those curbs with trees in the middle of them and almost flipped the truck. Tripped a wheel speed sensor, had to go to dealer to clear it.
*nothing beats a dope ass intro edit and the pretty face of the video alex..... and everyone else yes not u alone* 😂 ........ *whispers* (ssshhhh we all know its alex) 👀
It was a rainy night and the street was empty, I needed to make a right turn in my integra and decided to rip the good ol E-brake there bud (shout out to Alex 😂) wellll then I ended up on the curb but nothing was broke except my pride
I scum-bagged my way it to teaching 3 people how to "drift" (donuts, figure 8's) in my high school never owning a car my self. The people I tought drove a miata, EcoBoost mustang, and a 350z. The only sorta experience I had was drifting my dad's 1999 ram 1500 with a good old 5 speed manual.
First drifting experience was in a 2008 GT Premium (built to around 550hp) on black Ice in a clover style Exit ramp. Ice swung me out and the road was wet/had enough tirespin to keep it sideways for a bit. Deathly frightening to the unprepared 16 year old. Here we are 2 years later and I’m looking for a cheap rig to drift with 😂
When I had bald tires on my lifted Chevy I could hold it sideways all the way under the overpass in town near me, that’s about the only drifting I’ve done lol
First time drifting i spun out on some of the dirt roads nears wausau. Nothing major happened but man that was a rush and it got me hooked going sideways.
My first experience was at apple valley speedway ( grange motorsport circuit) and I crashed into a tire wall. And immediately....I laughed my ass off. I will say skid pads a great for beginners cause you can just focus on throttle control and how the transitions. But either way I'm addicted. Cause pulling off a clean drift is more satisfying than setting a fast lap.
my first car was a peugeot 306Sedan :P i was speeding in a corner and i got oversteer, leading me to look straight to the middle barrier, and without thinking i turned everything and got straight again 1stroke near me :O i felt so overwelming of adrenaline and fire inside me like WOOOHOOOOWW HELL YEAH!! and with my second car i hit the side of the road in a corner, and couldn't get it straight again and spinned a lot around! the car is fixed again with welding and repairing and starting to learn the use of Wrapping xD my favourite Car i really want to drift with is a Toyota Supra, that is my dreamcar and waiting for that moment! looking forward to next videos! :D
As much as i love seeing people drift, it makes me sad to see many models becoming rarer and rarer because of it. I'm getting a 200sx s13 on saturday; and let me tell you, that baby isnt going to drift. MAD respect to everyone who drift tho, it takes skills and dedication (and MONEY DAMN IT). Have fun with what you love!
Drifted my ford focus rs into a light post...was so scared to get in trouble I drove it home, front driver side wheel not even turning!!! Smashed the control arm into the panel. Lol. Ahhhhhh to be young again!!!

Alex is a weeb 2019 confirmed
My first driftcar was a welded BMW E36 318is, best starter ever. First time drifting felt really natural and it was really easy to do. After I build a Hydro in it every turn became fun.
It starts snowing in November here, and grass comes back in June. If you want to gitgud, move to a place where it snows a lot and only drive rwd. It makes going to work fun!
Canadian BRZ driver here. You are very correct.
WHAT DOES HE SAY AT 6:30!?!?!?
He said "Next episode of "So you want" is gonna be on the 335i"
I did tile at a school during winter in ND so end of the night I'd have a huge empty parking lot with about a foot of snow, most fun I've had in my awd Lexus lol.
HARDEST TH-cam CHANNEL AWARD GOES TO: Some Automotive Channel
*Claps and Applause*

Kanye West : Hey S.A.C. you channel is cool and all, But we all know Fitment Industries deserves this award
I remember when I tried to initiate a skid with the e-brake and later a Scandinavian flick with my BMW at the time and couldn't really get it to loose traction because, after 10 attempts, I've realised that idiot old me didn't disable traction control :)
One button pushed later and did some nice little clouds of smoke. :)
Nothing better than a rainy day for us fwd plebs.
Just start out on gravel roads instead of waiting for winter
bro the only reason i love the konig shirt over the rest is the konig and figment signs on the sleeves. like gimme a shopping list of car brands you’ve worked with on the shirt like it was a rear window or front panel of a car.
That beat went hard
I learned to drift by rally racing in the rain and mud in Oregon then it just become what we did during spring and summer when the grass and forest was to dry...
I like how you mention the kunimitsu guy, because most people think its the tsuya guy
4:23 i could literally watch Initial D over and over its so good i love it 😍
Intro music for this series is a f*ckin banger. The show is aight too
Drifted my car in an intersection in mexico, noticed there was a cop and pulled over to the side and put my hazards on and proceeded to pretend it was accidental (raining) the guy asked me if i was ok and gave me tips on how to take turns better in the rain 😅🤟🏽
FI thanks for featuring our 240 on your cover 🤙
No problem! Clean 240!
I come to these videos for 1) learning 2) Alex's animations
Thanks for the Motivation!!! And I am about to “Send It”. Wish me luck 😬
We're all just automotive weebs, lets be real here
I swear some of the these videos are like poetry🤙
I got a 96 golf with a broken e brake but sometimes if I send it on some dirt she likes to pop out depending on how fast I'm rippin👌🏽
"So you sent your Mustang"
i had a 2017 chevy colorado few years ago, took it to walmart lot in December where there was 2ft snow here in illinois. Did bunch of donuts until hit one of those curbs with trees in the middle of them and almost flipped the truck. Tripped a wheel speed sensor, had to go to dealer to clear it.
i had a manual shift rear wheel drive mercedes c180 as my first car
Fuckin mint
Just waiting for the snow to take my fwd car out 😂
The way this man says tires makes me smile
😁
First time drifting i spun out on some of the dirt roads nears wausau. Nothing major happened but man that was a rush and it got me hooked going sideways.
My first experience was at apple valley speedway ( grange motorsport circuit) and I crashed into a tire wall. And immediately....I laughed my ass off. I will say skid pads a great for beginners cause you can just focus on throttle control and how the transitions. But either way I'm addicted. Cause pulling off a clean drift is more satisfying than setting a fast lap.
0:17 you getting poetic with it bro😭
Great video. You should do “so you want to drag your car”
my first car was a peugeot 306Sedan :P i was speeding in a corner and i got oversteer, leading me to look straight to the middle barrier, and without thinking i turned everything and got straight again 1stroke near me :O i felt so overwelming of adrenaline and fire inside me like WOOOHOOOOWW HELL YEAH!! and with my second car i hit the side of the road in a corner, and couldn't get it straight again and spinned a lot around! the car is fixed again with welding and repairing and starting to learn the use of Wrapping xD my favourite Car i really want to drift with is a Toyota Supra, that is my dreamcar and waiting for that moment! looking forward to next videos! :D
I had a BMW z3 with a straight 6, amazing platform to start on. I drift it like crazy, never wrecked it.
This was almost my choice, but I hopped on the bandwagon and got a miata instead. Z3s are gorgeous though...
Great video as always Alex but were waiting on that 30 minute "So you want a mustang" video 😂🤣
