Glad ur ok and back mate , that nos 1 coil defo looked fubar mate ,,, ur symptoms match mine exactly wen it went wrong and was more prominent with increased boost ,, spark plugs shouldn't get black mine is stage 3 and r never sooted up , indicating rich mixture, I agree dont fire a parts cannon they get expensive mate , u will sort it we all have faith , just don't give up
@Yodaracing1 possibly mate , data logging is v way 2 go ,, air mass 2 boost pressure comparisons, fuel pressure and long and short term fuel trims that's how I diagnosed mine
I’m having a similar issue, misfire and such. Dreamscience recommended maf or map, changed them, no luck. Changed plugs and coils, no luck. So they recommended checking for vacuum leaks. I haven’t got round to it yet but it’s next on my list
My advice had allot of issues with mine actuator, recirc valve, MAP sensor, boost control solenoid, fuel rail pressure sensor, now DTC P0017 cam sensor feel like driving it down to Dover and rolling it off the those white cliffs? Also needs a new thermostat housing as you know all that said common faults. Old cars dude Collins Performance sorted mine not cheap but is anything today?

Cheers mate it’s possibly rich due to me turning down the actuator so possibly now overfuelling next task is get it data logged

Maybe fuel trim? Could be fuel pump on its way out. Can see that on obd readers and apps like torque pro.

I would replace all coil and plugs with brand new ones but only volvo brand, i use ngk racing plugs nr 7 and all was good again
Plugs are only 9 months old denso nr7 and done about 2k gonna get it booked onto a dyno for a data log before i start spending on random parts
i had the same problem (misfire) with my old mk4 vw golf 1.8 turbo gti, i got a new battery and it didn't misfire anymore
Battery is pretty new mate
