Otherwise love what you are doing with the hatch and can see that you have fallen in love with something that you never intended to. Fastwrx does offer great oem kits that take the guess work out. I bought an 04/05 rear sway bracket kit to update the 02 wrx. its the little things that satisfy.

I second diode dynamics. I should be sponsored by them since I am almost done installingggg...... 17 lights from them on my car. Plus sl1 h9 headlight bulbs... plus diode 100mm halos on my fogs.... I can't wait. I can't. Been working on this for three weeks now and the wiring and custom switches are now finished all I have to do is run wires to the roof plus 40 other things 🫠
You are doing an awesome job with the hatch. Definitely a keeper! Agree it's time to cut the 2004 loose and keep moving forward. Flatirons tuning recently posted a video on can a Subaru be a collector car and the 2004 is in there. You should be able to get $25k easy to help fund the next project. Out of all the different car options you listed purchasing for the channel, the only one that really stands out is the FD RX-7. I had a 1993 RX7 R1 the most hardcore rarest of them all. If you really want to spark the channel (no pun intended), search out a Mica yellow R1. You're going to pay more but trust me it will definitely definitely help the channel and you have the right personality and mindset for that car.
I'll definitely take a peak into it, this FD I'm looking at is definitely a project as it's torn down but that's right up my ally for what I love to build. 🔥 I thought I'd love the 04 like I did my 05 but it's just not the same
Your 2014 hatch is my favorite build that I've watched you modify in all of your videos on the smeedia channel. I've always wanted a GP chassis WRX or STI and I can understand why you wouldn't want to sell her either...good modification today.

I can say I will always love the wrx/Sti subie but in totally different ways. And I love them both. Also worthwhile investment and only going up.

If your into the hatch thing. The old Honda crx is a beast when built right. I havent seen one in a long time. Hondas can build big power. And the crx has many motor swap options. H22, b18, etc.
Never looked at your numbers, but have been a fan of your stuff for a while. I always thought you were a much bigger channel based on quality of content. Really good stuff!
The mounting bracket for the fog light is removable. I had to change out mounting brackets with a set of Amazon glass fog lights and the junk yellowed fogs that were on my wrx
Some more modern cars have the function to fold the mirrors when the car is locked. If the wrx doesn't have that, certainly there are aftermarket stuff to add that fuction. You will love it. When you unlock the car and you see the side lights blick and the mirrors unfolds, beautiful!
There is a way to do that on these cars. I wired my jdm power folding mirrors to fold and unfold with the key fob on lock and unlock on my ‘13 sti. Folding switch inside the car still works as well
Two things, question and an idea: Can you go in depth on the benefits and justification of Fluidampr on street car? It's currently getting weighed against killerB oil pan on an '09 hatch, and i can't make my mind up (similar costs). going slow with the build, so one would happen now, the next would happen 6-12 months later. New build ideas.... -80's porsche 944T -chevy S10 (swap candidate) -anything with an sr20 -MR2 Spyder (personal fave, and entirely new layout compared to a subaru)

Hatch keeps getting better and better, honestly I was hoping youd do an EVO 8 or 9 but really I think you should go way out of your spec and do an RSX type s and convert it to awd. Awd converted civics are pretty common but a handful have done an RSX awd. Youd get the "luxury" and be able to have fun, maintain heat, even A/C etc without feeling like the car will fold in half with a gust of wind haha

'19 STi is a garage track queen. Heavily modified 03 discovery 2 isn't exactly a daily, it's camel trophy spec tractor. Come to aus and build me a hatch just like this pls and thanks. Mums old C class merc is a good daily but I'd like your hatch hanks haha
dude i love c5 corvettes my lab partner had one in school and the engine work on them is pretty easy and you can make a ton of power out of them. Also bring back choco taco for COTD

My vote is an rx7....any year. I just love the rotary and think they are such a interesting motor. I once drove an 83 and it was the coolest little car. Completely a driver's car. Side note/question. I parked my 19 STI on a hill with the motor facing up the hill. The next day I fired it up and I heard 2 recognizable clacks and then it went away, but haven't heard anything since. Do I need to worry?
Where are you getting the JDM bits from??? The fog lights set it off, I’ve got a ‘18 STI and I’ve been able to put in factory fog lights with diode dynamics lights, but everything else I got from the factory

My vote is an rx7....any year. I just love the rotary and think they are such a interesting motor. I once drove an 83 and it was the coolest little car. Completely a driver's car.
Side note/question. I parked my 19 STI on a hill with the motor facing up the hill. The next day I fired it up and I heard 2 recognizable clacks and then it went away, but haven't heard anything since. Do I need to worry?

Where are you getting the JDM bits from??? The fog lights set it off, I’ve got a ‘18 STI and I’ve been able to put in factory fog lights with diode dynamics lights, but everything else I got from the factory
Most of the jdm stuff I get is off of ebay. Some sellers in Japan, Malaysia and other Countries will ship to the US 🫡
