In my opinion a better place for oil pressure sensor is at the back of the engine. I think it's better to monitor the pressure further from the oil pump. You can have great pressure next to the pump, but if there's a leak, oil pressure could drop with the distance.
@@Smeedia I could be wrong, but if I remember correctly, there is another oil gallery plug, at the back of the engine, near the coolant plug which is used for cooling mod. It's close to 4th cylinder, so it could be perfect to check the oil temp.

Regarding tuning a car during hot weather... My fruit of thought will it is better to tune the car during hot.. creating a safe tune for worst heatsoak condition... (But definately wont make good numbers) ecu compensation for colder weather is better than ecu compensating for hotter condition it never sees before if it was tuned on colder weather condtion... But its just my thought.. and im no fulltime tuner... I might be wrong 😅

300bhp will be fine with 93 pump fuel, that is like 260whp, keep up on maintenance and you will be fine, in my country we have a few brz on 90 pump making 280whp in hot ass tropical weather.. get a good dyno tune no off shelf maps, regular oil changes, good quality fuel and not lugging the engine in the highest gear possible and she will last

@Smeedia I get so excited on the drive into work (I do AutoCAD drafting and play youtube/podcasts in the background) to get here and hop into the next video and you never disappoint!
And for anyone who is wondering or timid to post comments, Smeedia has been awesome about feedback and genuinely helping the community, responding to questions, and putting out good content/advice/etc.
And on the driving to work note, this morning was cruising and was curious at what RPMs everyone else cruises in. I have always tried to avoid dropping below 3K rpm in any gear other than 1st or 2nd, and never do hard accel. below 3.5-4k rpm. Does this track with others? ('09 5mt)
Normally for me I cruise around 3500RPM but I try to stay between 3-4K shifting at 4K 🥳
Also appreciate the kind words my man!
You gonna get me in trouble lol. Wife told me no more spending on my 08 STI after I got my engine custom built. And now I’m getting the AEM gauge set up. I think it looks sick. Trying keep the OEM look inside but I have to get the gauges and biting my nails on ordering a steering wheel also. Uhhhh love the content but man I hate you. Lol
Keep video coming 👍🏽
They're all worth it 🤭
I won't tell her if you don't 😅
Nows the best time to get rides built and ready, Once fall comes and that Sweet sweet cool boost season air hits, it's the BEST time to tune :D
You know it! The way it's looking wr may be tuning all three at once 😅
I have waited for this video, love the content! Let's goooo!
🥳🥳🥳
Love seeing the hatch on the channel! I also have a hatch myself. I have a 09 sti!!
Ohhhh how you like it?! 🥳
@@Smeedia I love had it a little over a year now. Thinking of some coilovers next 😌
Would love to see how you set up your bags, normal ride height, pressure and dampening. Have bags on my sti hatch and they ride like trash, super bumpy and worse suspension I’ve ever had. Maybe something I’ve done wrong but would like to see your setup on them!
I'll cover how to set them up, installing the bags today 💪
@@Smeedia really appreciate that! You the best brother
Blue needs a icebox. You could always put it in the trunk or backseat
I've actually been looking into this idea 👀
@@Smeedia Do it
BBS rims 🤘🏼
Shit I wish 😅😅😅
Why not just run Glow shifts single gauge dual monitor for the oil pressure and oil temp? With a Perrin sandwich plate
Nit a fan of glowshifts gauges 🙏
LETS GOO!! excited to see this build cause i love the hatches
The hatch about to be 🔥
just binge watching the wrx content been slacking lately AHAHA nice "practical daily"
It'll be somewhat practical 😅
Is a bpv considered a reliability/durability mod? what's the benefit?
-better noises-ish
-more consistent boost
-better overboost protection
?anything else?
Can you run the GS with a fmic or GS/PW tmic?
No, but it makes fun noises lol
The real reason to swap them is to hold more boost pressure
Are you going to remove the roof rails racks?
Idk yet 🤔
It’ll look cleaner without the racks IMHO
@smeedia I was ready through thr comments about the bpv and I can't help to notice that you literally respond to everyone. Great to see that and great stuff bro! Love the channel 🤙
I try my best to 😅🔥
Got a 14 hatch last year and have been watching your videos since then. Super stoked to see you building a hatch out so I can steal some ideas ! Ever get any input on the gasket on the grim speed bpv not matching ? Thanks for the content and your time 🙏
They're working on a new flange soon 🙏
@@Smeedia ah man so need to buy now ?
: /
Regarding tuning a car during hot weather... My fruit of thought will it is better to tune the car during hot.. creating a safe tune for worst heatsoak condition... (But definately wont make good numbers)
ecu compensation for colder weather is better than ecu compensating for hotter condition it never sees before if it was tuned on colder weather condtion...
But its just my thought.. and im no fulltime tuner...
I might be wrong 😅
You stop that 🤣
Personally I would just feel.mlre comfortable waiting until.temps come down a bit at least into the low 80s for ambient 🙏
@@Smeedia sure we all understand your decision... No worries... 💪💪
Cheers 🍻
I'm in your homeland! (Seattle). Uber is expensive here man.
Eyyyy welcome! Dude everything here is 🥲
Love the builds man! You make me wanna do more to my '20 WRX
DO MOREEEEE 😈🔥
Wish I could smash that like more then once so pumped to watch this build and the Evo as well honestly I could watch you build a pb&j and somehow get enjoyment out of it
We about to start some PB&J videos Here soon 😅🔥
@@Smeedia I build mine with P.B on both slices of bread and the jam in the middle. I'll have my eyes open for your pb&j build video
Any chance you're going to check out the new Grimmspeed UEL Headers? They're very interesting, being kind of a mix of equal and unequal length headers 🤔
I have a set 🤭
@@Smeedia OH chet I can't wait to see them 😮😮😮
Had a question bro. I have a 2013 brz 100K miles you think it will be ok if I boosted it with stock internals? I only would like 300bhp nothing more. I’m a subie guy from the heart keep up the work!💯💪🏾
Flirting with danger there lol really depends on how you drive it 😅
300bhp will be fine with 93 pump fuel, that is like 260whp, keep up on maintenance and you will be fine, in my country we have a few brz on 90 pump making 280whp in hot ass tropical weather.. get a good dyno tune no off shelf maps, regular oil changes, good quality fuel and not lugging the engine in the highest gear possible and she will last
The WRX is gonna be dope can't wait....
I ended up having to cancel my big Northwest trip but still planning to go to LA subiefest.... Are you still going to bring the STI to LA?😁😁😇😇
Gling to try to bring the sti down 🙏worst case scenario I bring the wrx 😅
Watching you mess with that fuel pump without gloves again, causes me anxiety. 😅
What gauges would you recommend for the FA20DIT? Oil Pressure and AFR as well?
Yessir. Same sane gauges 🤝
Hatch love! Let's get it!
❤️❤️❤️🔥
