Wild and wonderful waveshaping awaits you. Either with the new addition to our free Essentials Collection, Shaper, or with its sophisticated sibling, Shaper Table, you'll be crackling, screaming, and fizzing all night long.
A waveshaper distortion plugin remaps the samples of digital audio to new values based on a curve. It can be close-to-linear, with just a slight rolling off of extreme values to create soft saturation, or aggressive, nasty, and downright rude if you get far off the beaten track.
It's up to you, with a fully editable curve in Shaper, and a powerful morphable wavetable-based approach in Shaper Table.

@@username40000 Hell yeah, ableton vocoder is the best. It has that "special sauce" that makes it sound ultra clean and different from other vocoders. It's really high-quality.
I use FL and I'm so tired of Vocodex, it just sound so compressed and dirty, like wtf.. Really hope khz team will make a good quality vocoder

Awesome additions to the toolbox! Phase Plant, Snap Heap and the Ultimate Toolbox is becoming more and more like having a whole Ableton Live running inside of your DAW as a plugin, and I'm loving it!

saw free shaper, tried it. found out about multi pass, wanted it. saw all the rest of the stuff all working together and how modular and easy it is to use, bought all of it. it's all so good.

Love phaseplant ,i need to learn more of it , ive only been producing for a year, watching TH-cam vids , would be cool if kilohearts did more tutorial vids, any tips in learning phaseplant?
I like your plugins but pleeease add a volume or gain knob to all your plugins and snap-ins. Would make gain staging sooo much more convenient.
Possibly not the answer you want but Snap Heap has a gain control on every lane. 😉
@@Kilohearts many, if not most of your plugins affect volume and some are also strongly affected by the input volume (distortion, compression, filters, etc). It's slow, inefficient, and frustrating having to add utility or gain plugins in between individual plugins just to change the volume between them. It also doesn't allow you to save volume adjustments within the plugin presets. Make them small if you have to but please add gain knobs. Input and output knobs would be even better. I would definitely be more inclined to use your plugins if they had them.

Is there a way to turn of the internal oversampling? It would be nice to have a clipper that actually clips everything at a certain threshold, which as far as I know doesn't exist in the kHs ecosystem. Distortion also doens't let you control this unfortunately.

hi can you make a plugin where we can key-map a delay so that it resonates at whatever frequency the key im pressing? I think I've seen a tutorial with the flanger plugin a while ago but was not able to properly tune or recreate it. Comb filters don't sound quite the same

With the wavetables in oscillator/envelope/shaper in phase plant, can we do Scanned synthesis?
Kilohearts : can you share anything on how these handle oversampling/pre-filtering? Should I prefilter myself/run them at 96k to avoid aliasing? Already bought and installed!
I don't understand the aliasing thing, I have the Bitwig wave shaper with anti aliasing and i can't hear any difference when switching on and off, don't really know why is everyone so obsessed with that.

I haven’t tried it myself, but it should be. You can run AU plugins in Mainstage, right? Just make sure in the installer that you’re installing AU format and not just VST.

Well, now Serum is in big trouble. Next up would be a Phase Plant Sampler player that actually accepts multi samples. Perhaps even layers... Then both Kontakt/Halion/Falcon will start to sweat. If Phase Plant can play multi samples with FX per voice, then there IS no competition. Kontakt can do it a little but with very limited number of FX. kHs has so much more available to use. Crazy, if that happens!
so crazy how native instruments just ruined trash 3 and then kilohearts says "don't worry you can just build an even better trash unit right inside of phaseplant now"

Great plugins but honestly man, what the hell has happened to dnb basslines these days, just sounds like someone's recorded furniture being moved about in a hall.
The shaper example could have been shown on a bass or something else not on those shrilly pads

The free Shaper has pretty good anti-aliasing but Shaper Table Aliases like a mf smh. No idea of the logic behind this but at least we get a good freebie that doesn’t trash your sound in the unwanted, negative “This sounds bad” way.

Haven't demoed it yet, but wavetable-based waveshaping will inherently introduce higher harmonics simply because the waves are more complex. The effect is king of intuitively unpredictable in my experience.... so you might just be hearing the effect.
are we ever going to stop propping up waveshapers as the best thing ever for distortion? It's 2024 and companies are still doing it. I guess not😂
