I know you kind of struggle with being a TH-camr and I know that these kinds of comments are in the grand scheme of things, nice to hear but don’t actually have an effect, but I really want to say that I appreciate your videos. It seems so weird to have this affinity for a girl that plays with makeup that I watch on my phone in bed, but there’s just so much crap on here and you’re not crap. I hate to say it, but it brings me some joy that the Safari palette didn't totally work for you. I was SO EXCITED when I got it, and it sucked. I returned it, and I never return anything. I was also really disappointed with that Pat McGrath palette - I couldn't get the shimmers to stay on my eyes no matter what base I used, and that's not a problem I ever have. All around, a luxurious disappointment.

Ive felt shit about my skin for as long as i can remember and last night i was just picking at it and then spent half an hour on skin care before bed. Today, when I woke up, sam had uploaded this and when she focused on her skin i just felt GOOD, like good, plain good. I feel like what you said about the Natasha Denona and Pat McGrath palettes are dead on 💯 They’re coming out with very unique colors, but you won’t use them everyday, and at that price it’s like mehhhh.

Jes Lewis nothing I saw here looked unique in colors, and definitely not once applied- if anything they weren’t showing true to color and would be a huge disappointment. I can’t believe people pay this much money some make up. Skin care I can understand, not for face paint you’ll wear 8 or 10 hours.
I agree they are not very unique at all and too expensive to have such inconsistent quality. It's not like I have been blown away either w looks people have done w ND or PML. I know much of it is done to personal experience but I'm just not convinced their price tags are worth it. People just have FOMO and want to have the it thing. But I have other stuff that give me killer looks and cost less
there's literally 10000 palettes out there that you can use everyday, why would u pay that much for something basic?
Real shit, I just try to dupe the ND & PM palettes concepts with colors I already own. I use them as a tipping point and inspo to come up with more unusual and editorial color combos. As for the unique finishes, you can always, always top regular metallic shadows (like Nyx prismatic, for example) with large particle/glittery colorful highlighters and loose pigments and get a shade that looks indistinguishable from Pat McGrath's special sparkly colors once on the lid. Don't buy into the consumerist hype just b/c something is marketed as unique. Probably most of us own enough of a variety of makeup to create similar effects and get use out of what we have already spent precious $$$ on.

PSA: If anyone reading this has a Five Below or 99 cents only store nearby, you HAVE to try the Smoke and Mirrors brand 6-pan eyeshadow palettes. Yes, they look like play makeup or a kid's watercolor paint set in the packaging, BUT they are ABSOLUTLEY. FUCKING. AMAZING. They blend well, they are soft and creamy and true to color, don't fade, and the colors and finishes are often rather unique. The metallics blow that red Pat McGrath one out of the water, they are so reflective they look wet. I swear to you that they are overall some of the most pigmented shadows I own, no fallout, and I'm more excited about them than my last 3 high-end purchases. End of story.

Perfect timing for the second Sephora sale weekend especially since I've decided, for the first time, to genuinely splurge. Why have three jobs if you can't buy a high-end product every now and again amirite. Also I'm wearing almost the exact same eye look today! I decided to give the few shades in my subculture palette that I haven't bothered with since last year one more go, and after carefully patting on that deep cranberry shade and getting patch city (just like when I used it for the first time), I had to go back in and fix what I'd done...with a makeup revolution palette. The irony, I hate it. Speaking of which, if anyone out there is loving the ND Safari palette color scheme but is never going to pay that much for it (which, if I had the money, I totally would), Makeup Revolution, though they often put out garbage products, has a palette which I personally own that has many similar shades and performs REALLY well. It's their Soph x Revolution Extra Spice palette. It has the oranges, the yellows, the cranberries, and yes, even the olive. :)

*The bronzer* it could be different foundations & their undertones making the bronzer give off diff hues. Just a thought since w/creams you're placing tacky cream onto tacky cream, they're mixing slightly. With powders it's a bit diff bc they can't mix as much. Your blending is fine! Don't feel self-conscious. I was watching on a big tv where any mistakes stand out strong and it still looks great. I agree that those five shadows look like just two. It looks lovely, though. I feel inspired to try a deep red look now, too. I don't think I have any shadows to do that with. I would expect red to look very mid-2000s emo, but it looks refined and beautiful on you. The application is lovely and the blending is impeccable.

The Tom Ford Cream Blush in Pink Sand is the most beautiful, glossy, wet look pink blush. It is super model skin deliciousness. It usually comes out with the summer collection but if you can find it, it is a must must MUST.
