I get what you're saying about receiving advice about your acne. I've felt the same thing from strangers in the street approaching me with advice for weight loss, which leaves me feeling like "is that the only thing people see when they see me?". So I gotta say to you, just in case: I didn't even remember you have acne until you pointed it out. Truly, honestly. So, even if it sometimes doesn't seem like it, people aren't thinking about your acne when they watch you, we're seeing you as a whole. I was honestly so mesmerized by your eyes and your banter I would've never thought twice about how many spots you concealed or not. ♥️
I feel you on the unsolicited acne comments. I was working on Christmas Eve a couple years ago, at a time when my skin was going through some shit. This lady was really well intentioned but told me I was too pretty to be suffering with acne and should go on acutane because it worked for her son... I said, 'thanks, but I'm handling it.' I work at a makeup store and was in full coverage makeup, please don't comment on something you know is probably a sensitive topic for somebody else. Plus, I already looked into accutane and it would've been $500 and too high of a risk for my mental and physical health. Point being, you're handling your acne. It's a process, but you're doing what you can.
Mischa Snow Exactly. I once read a quote that you shouldn’t comment on something that isn’t something the person can change in 5 minutes. If someone’s rude, tell them and they can correct themselves. But if it’s something like their body, keep your mouth shut. 🤐

i have been trying to get on Accutane for years and every dermatologist I go to makes me go through a whole run around before considering it, prescribing me shit I know doesnt work (because ive been dealing with this for years!!!) so i gave up trying to get it lmao. i havent had clear skin in over 10 years.. sucks

When I had bad acne my old Lebanese grandma told me to eat just straight up molasses and that it would cure it. It was so disgusting and she gave me a whole jar of it to take home with me. I never ate it again and I took birth control to help my acne and to this day she thinks it was the gross molasses. No one needs advice they never asked for

I'd love to get your advice in video on "if you're going to to start a collection of single shadows, I recommend this brand, and I recommend you start with these 6 shadows, or type of shadows." This is such a great idea! I'd like to see different formulas too. Personally, I don't care for single powder eye shadows, but I love a good cream or liquid one.

I know I should lose 10lbs but I don't want people messaging me reminding me of my insecurities, nor would I do that to someone.
one time when my acne was at its worst, this old lady stopped me to tell me how pretty I would be if I didn't have acne AND THEN said it must be difficult for me to have a boyfriend 🙃
I respect and appreciate you so much for coming on here and saying that it's exhausting and discouraging to constantly be given advice for acne. Over the holidays I was at Walmart with my mom and she took me to the acne products aisle and said "I'll buy you whatever you want!" She was trying to help, but it sucked. People just have no clue how much trial and error is going on behind the scenes.

Olivia Block I had acne that looked exactly like Sam's and same thing, had totally normal skin until it just sort of happened one day. I really hate adult acne. I ended up going on Accutane and that worked for me but everyone is on their own journey and they don't need people talking about their perceived flaws all the time. Acne is totally normal and okay to have, Sam's totally right. Anyway, just wanted to agree with you 😊
Michelle C pretty sure she’s already done accutane. Some people need it more than once and sometimes it doesn’t work. Good news is there’s soo many things to try and almost every case of acne should be solvable. No reason in 2019 people have to suffer forever with acne especially if you’re able to spend money on the treatments and be mindful of foods and products to see if any trigger breakouts for you etc

I’m a lot older than you. Had major breakouts at one younger point in my life. Makeup was my savior. My mom was always amazed how well I could cover it. Today, thanks in part to my previously oil slick skin, I have less wrinkles than most women my age (my theory). Power to the pimple ✊🏼

Real Techniques are my absolute favorite brushes (for my budget). I think they’re so pretty and actually so soft. Their instapop eye brushes are so unique and make my blending perfect the way they are shaped to hug your crease.

I also just got their $50 ($100 value) Christmas set for $25! They marked them all down at my store and had quite a few. So excited to use them.
Jasmine I I agree! I wish they had more shapes but I’ve never had a RT brush fall apart on me. I do wish that the bottom of the brush didn’t expand because it makes them a bit hard to store. Amazing for the price though!

I’ll never forget a time I was in an upscale dept store getting some mascara, and after I chose the one I wanted, the rep said “I have something I think would work well for your acne I’d like to show you.” I hadn’t said a single word about my skin or looking for skincare products or acne treatments. I literally said “I’m not interested” and turned around and walked off. You’re very gracious and understanding, Sam. I have to stop myself from suggesting products sometimes (but only when people are mentioning their acne, not out of the blue, good gravy!) because sometimes you just don’t want to talk about it or you want to just move about your day. i think youre honestly one of the best youtubers out there precisely because you make an effort to not be ashamed of your acne and just treat it like a normal thing. ive had acne ever since i was twelve (im 20 now) and it still hasnt gone away; i deal with texture, scars, and break outs and now thankfully im more okay with my bare skin, but its really hard to deal with acne even when you dont have people on the internet constantly commenting on it. your videos actually helped me a lot in terms of being okay with my skin, and i really love how genuine and well-spoken you are in all of your videos. keep it up!

Have you ever tried the bourjois healthy mix serum foundation? It is so good, gives a glow and about medium coverage. Its definitely a better price than regular foundation from Sephora as well.

YourMomGoesToCollege Not at all. I’ve seen that be a con with other people before but I’ve never noticed. I have olive skin so the neutralizer shade is the only concealer that doesn’t make me look like I have pink under eyes.
I have been having this feeling like the next big trend is gonna be light coverage, freckles, natural brows and the nude/light shadow lid with winged liner.
I am obsessed with those Stila liquid shadows. The shade Wanderlust is probably the most gorgeous glitter I’ve ever seen in my life. Also, I know this is not relevant to the video, but I love your nails. The color reminds me of the OPI “Barefoot in Barcelona” shade which is my favorite.

When I was in my teens and 20s people would give me acne advice all the time , even though it was well intentioned (not always) it started to piss me off and hurt my self esteem. People act like you don't know you have acne and haven't tried literally EVERYTHING to get rid of it. It took me a decade to get it under control ,most of those with the aid of a doctor. People did the same thing to THATAYLAA before she got Accutane ,some of the comments were so mean 💗 Love your videos ,your eyeliner is AMAZING 💗

No reason in 2019 people have to suffer forever with acne especially if you’re able to spend money on the treatments and be mindful of foods and products to see if any trigger breakouts for you etc

Real Techniques are my absolute favorite brushes (for my budget). I think they’re so pretty and actually so soft. Their instapop eye brushes are so unique and make my blending perfect the way they are shaped to hug your crease.

I also just got their $50 ($100 value) Christmas set for $25! They marked them all down at my store and had quite a few. So excited to use them.

I’ll never forget a time I was in an upscale dept store getting some mascara, and after I chose the one I wanted, the rep said “I have something I think would work well for your acne I’d like to show you.” I hadn’t said a single word about my skin or looking for skincare products or acne treatments. I literally said “I’m not interested” and turned around and walked off. You’re very gracious and understanding, Sam. I have to stop myself from suggesting products sometimes (but only when people are mentioning their acne, not out of the blue, good gravy!) because sometimes you just don’t want to talk about it or you want to just move about your day. i think youre honestly one of the best youtubers out there precisely because you make an effort to not be ashamed of your acne and just treat it like a normal thing. ive had acne ever since i was twelve (im 20 now) and it still hasnt gone away; i deal with texture, scars, and break outs and now thankfully im more okay with my bare skin, but its really hard to deal with acne even when you dont have people on the internet constantly commenting on it. your videos actually helped me a lot in terms of being okay with my skin, and i really love how genuine and well-spoken you are in all of your videos. keep it up!

When I was in my teens and 20s people would give me acne advice all the time , even though it was well intentioned (not always) it started to piss me off and hurt my self esteem. People act like you don't know you have acne and haven't tried literally EVERYTHING to get rid of it. It took me a decade to get it under control ,most of those with the aid of a doctor. People did the same thing to THATAYLAA before she got Accutane ,some of the comments were so mean 💗 Love your videos ,your eyeliner is AMAZING 💗
