Great that posts like this are available! My belt was rubbing too due to the nut being loose on my Whirlpool Cabrio. Thanks again!

Duuuude, so much appreciation for your vid. I lifted the front of our machine and found that the nut had backed off completely. This allowed the large belt pulley to slide half way off the shaft. The pulley actually chewed a perfect circle into the pulley cover. I popped the pulley back on and tightened the nut.....bam, the washer works again. Thanks again!!

Thank you so much for your video!! My washing machine was doing the same exact noise, except for the rinse cycle, that sounded the same as the wash. Nonetheless my husband followed your instructions and Ta da!!! Worked like a charm!

I just purchased this washing machine from a classified ad , I am surprised at how noisy it is. So I came to youtube and appreciate your video. I'll have to have my dad take a look at the belt/pulley's to make sure they are tight.

Thanks again for posting this. Mine was making the same noise.
I went underneath and saw that the pulley/belt were rubbing
up against the cover. I tightened up the center nut, reseated the belt,
and sure enough, it's quiet as it was when new.
    Thanks!

You are most welcome. I have also noticed that whenever I have a heavy load of laundry such as towels, jeans, and/or Blankets, the belt loosens up again. So try to turn the dial on the heavy load before washing these items. Glad it helped.

I wanted to say thank you for the information. to update as to the grinding from my Machine, it was the belt that shifted down due to wear and stretching. it was the original belt. the pulley was tight.

is there any video on how to fix the belt and what nut to tighten?

  • @iraza75040
    @iraza75040  8 ปีที่แล้ว +18

If your washing machine is making these noise. Follow the steps below. Look underneath the washing machine and check the belt and the pulley.
Make sure it is in its place and tighten the screw on top of the bigger pulley. My washing machine made a loud grinding noise in the wash cycle and clicking noise in the rinse cycle. When I fixed the belt and tighten the nut it was like new. Hope this helps!

use something called Locktite on the nut. It is a glue like liquid that will keep the nut from loosening. You only need a small drop. It can be picked up from any hardware store.

This is what happens when you have China make these machines they all suck I used to love listening to the good old fashioned American made washing machines now they all suck I'm in the market after my Maytag finally gave up the ghost I'm literally discussed this shit all started in 2011 in Washington to force all these company's to go (( High efficiency)) . This is what also happens when Government gets involved I have read review after review and not many people are happy with all these manufacturers we have no choice . And the sounds are awful like this iiiiiint iiiiiint iiiiiint iiiiiiint like a fucking electric sea saw ..!!!! We need Donald J Trump so we can MAKE our own shit again we have really lost our way as Americans no more American built pride just beer

Ain’t that the truth. I have a Maytag I bought bran new over 20 years ago and it’s still working perfectly.
I put it out in my pool house and wash dog bedding and rags in it.
I just bought a new Maytag and I’ve had the repair men out 3 times and it’s only 8 mouths old. Every time they come out they try to convince me the damn noise i hear is normal. I’m about ready to stick this washer up somebody’s ass.
I’m very unsatisfied. Maytag is all I’ve ever had and my mother also.
You can’t buy anything worth a shit anymore. 😤😤😤😤😤😤
