    0:29 - High-pitched vibrating sound - drain pump
    1:21 - loud buzzing sound when start - dry motor or motor start capacitor
    2:34 - Loud thumping sound, slow agitation, slow spin speed - Motor coupler
    3:49 - belt drive model: loud thumping or screeching sound during wash or spin cycle - belt failure
    4:24 - Loud roaring sound in spin cycle or scraping sound - tub bearing
    6:07 - loud banging in spin cycle, shakes uncontrollably - suspension system (coils) or dampening straps

      My washer makes a grinding noice and then nocks out the power I just changed the agitator dogs too but it's not that sounds horrible

    The noise my washing machine is making isn't on this list. My washer is suddenly making a high pitched noise while agitating. At least I know what isn't wrong with it. I just wish I knew what was wrong with it, so I can get an idea of how much it will cost to fix it. 😢

    It was the drive pump in my case, a small zipper from a clothing item got caught in there. You are life saver, sir.

    I am so thankful I found this video! I was watching another on this channel that led me through taking my washer apart but almost changed the wrong part out. I replaced the motor coupler and we're back in order!

    Excellent video! The inclusion of sounds and defective parts movements or actions was particularly helpful (i.e.wobbly tub bearings). It would have been nice to show us examples of electrical-caused problems like arcing, burning and overheating for novices who might not recognize them.     I know this is 4 years old, but thank you so much for showing actual examples of the machine running with the defective parts you are discussing!! It greatly helped me know exactly what the issues are with my machine. Other folks just describe the sound - nowhere near as effective.

    That was incredibly thorough thank you. Also, I'm pretty sure about half of those sounds come from my washer. Its probably time to retire it (it lived a good long life and I am not upset by this at all)

    Very helpful. Unfortunately for me the appliance repair folks around here just don't want to deal with these issues. Charge me $100 for a diagnostic and then they say, "Just get a new machine." Sigh.

    i suspect a worn bearing, after replacing suspension rods, it isn't off balance now but vibrates. your video helped a lot to narrow down the issues & give me some extra maintenance tips. now i know where to look and what i'm looking for👍

    I have tried to remove this shaft 4:53 and it won't come out, direct drive. Is there a trick or is this part of my noise problem like a bad bearing. My motor couple was replaced and the noise is still there. The reversing parts in the transmission were replaced correctly and still the noise, banging back and forth.

    Please, if you can help me? I didn't notice my top load washer's problem addressed in your video ... As it's running it makes (indulge me) a 'wehwehwehwehweh' kind of sound. And then when it drains it's an even singier sound. What can that be? Some belt? A pump? Both? I have a Whirlpool Ultimate Care top loader. Thank you for any direction you can give me!

    I had replaced the suspension rod for my whirlpool top load washer,and it worked fine until recently the problem came back, is it because I didn’t replace the 4 old plastic cup suspension rod supporters and kept using them?

    That was a great tutorial.
    The background music made it difficult to hear the sound on some of areas you were explaining. Please don’t take this comment as rudeness. I meant it as corrective criticism. Others may have the same issue. I would hate to see you lose viewers due to background noise. I wish had known these things earlier in life. It truly is helpful.

    Mine is making a clicking sound and won't agitate and it's not the agitator. In fact it trips the breaker when trying. Spin and drain work fine. It is a 2 or 3 year old hot point. Any ideas?

    It was helpful; however, I have a big problem removing the agitator. I saw other TH-cam videos to know how, but still is not coming out no matter how hard I try. I believe that in the end is going to be a bearing problem. Any help with that?

    my Kenmore 90 series washing machine is ticking during spinning. Clothes are too wet at end of cycle. I just replaced the drain pump and coupler a couple of weeks ago. Are these symptoms likely to indicate a failing clutch or do I need to replace the parts inside the transmission? My husband said that he rebuilt the transmission a few years ago.

    adding in the noises was helpful. Unfortunately my washer's noise was not there...dino death scream is what i'm calling it, started in the end of the rinse cycle and now just screams. 21 yr old whirlpool. Think I got my use outta it.

    Steve, you are my Hero. Question, You did not say any reason why the bearings goes bad. I can imagine it has to do with water leaking in to it but I don't really know the reason so I can keep an eye on it. Do you know why?

      It's from overloading the washer, imbalanced loads, high humidity conditions, or just defective bearing. Usually overloading washer.

    My sound wasnt there.. i just got kenwood twintub 2022 model..its been obly 2 months and i use it v nicely. But in the spin tub..now a screaching sound os coming when it runs. Usually its not there when clothes r only drying..but when i spin with water..then it comes. Should i not put water in there? But then why is the water inlet present in that dryer tub? To spin right? Pls someone answer tonthis problem if u know.thanks alot

    I replaced all springs and washer still making loud banging sound in spin cycle . even when i spin it by hand slow I hear a knocking sound at apx10 and 4 o'clock positions.

    Wow! It must have taken a lot of work to create the problems shown to get the sounds. Thanks! My noise was not in there. It makes a loud repeating clicking sound as it tries to get started agitating. Click-click-click pause click-click-click-click pause click run. It is old, but I keep fixing it.

      @@RSkywatch444Hz It soon stopped working. The transmission failed, and it was time after 30 years to replace it. I doubt I will be able to fix the new one at all.

    mine's a grinding screech whenever it draws water. I'm going to check all of these to see if maybe one works. ❤

      Check the inlet hoses. Could be debris on the filter screen
