Thanks for the walkthru, I'm a warhammer guy so all this stuff is alien to me but I can see me buying some when I go to Tokyo. I noticed there were some boxes that seemed to depict human characters - you didnt seem interested but as an outsider I'm really curious about ALL the themes and styles available, not just Gundams. Good luck with the channel ❤
01:20 and I go into full Meg Ryan "When Harry Met Sally" mode - YES YES YES!!! Seriously Ellie, thanks for this video - I'm glad your getting a taste for these vintage anime kits - much more interesting than seeing piles and piles of new generic Gundam boxes!!! BTW that God Phoenix kit at 06:10 is from Gatchaman (Battle of the Planets) and not Thunderbirds - every day's a school day! 😊
This Mandrake WAS good when they opened years ago. They had a session only for MG and other rare stuff. They phase out that, the MG section is tiny now. Their Gunpla section size now is 1/3 that was when they started.
8:46 The Gastima is from Gundam Reconguista in G, that series got really cool design but the few models released were kind of meh, hoping for some day get new ones that make justice to the designs. Cool video.
I have one of the Synduality models you see at 3:00. It’s on Hulu in the states. Picked one up and am still working on it. Very different and has some neat features like the two mini character models.
These are the best kinds of videos for me. I love watching you tour all of the buildings and shops and show us different kits and talking about them. I have an interest in older kits, so for me, this is great to listen to and understand the hobby much better. You also can't beat the box art on older kits! :)
@@pixxellie They just have that charm that you can't help but love. It's always that wonderful box art. I wanted to ask, do they make or sell any knights of sidonia or blue gender kits?
New member! Just love your channel. I'm from Brazil and my travel to Japan this year was the best thing I've ever done. Miss so much this country. Your videos are so immersive and make me feel like I'm there too.
I'll have to check this Mandarake while I am in Japan. Off topic, but are you going to the All Japan Model show on Oct 12-13? Any tips for someone visiting for the first time?
P-Bandai stuff just sitting on the shelves. Meanwhile in the rest of the world, if you can even find a P-Bandai kit, you will have to sell your liver to afford the aftermarket markup.
It is the pricing too, locals often go mandarake to look for certain kits. In my experiences they hardly buy a lot.. only tourists like us buy lots from mandarake i.e… mandarake
I have never heard of this place before! my go to place is nakano broadway one. I will definitely gonna put this in my list next time I go to japan, thanks! I really need to google for surugaya or mandarake other than akihabara and nakano broadway lol
Nice informative video! There are two Mandrake stores in Ikebukuru. Any difference between them and what they sell? Which store is better? Which Mandrake store in Tokyo city is the best place to go visit? What about in Nakano Broadway? Thanks!
Wow 😲, I look at those kit's and it has been that long since I've built any kit's. I had that little scout you said you wanted to build. Now I just look at them and say nice 👍 but the prices 😢.
@pixxellie Hi Pix, it's a TH-cam channel that has a similar niche as you and the TH-cam algorithm suggested your channel since I've been diving in heavy with Japanese culture in particular. Thanks for the content, and keep it coming. 😊 Much love from the Philippines 🇵🇭

I managed to find a Tolro-800 which is Gundam Base exclusive at my local store for cheap.
Excellent, just excellent !!! Thank you for taking the time to film there… always been curious about this location 😊
your videos are super helpful for us who visit Japan and would want to save on time looking for specific stuff. Please keep doing these. Thank you

Always happy to see a new video!!

This was one of my favorite Mandarake Locations! I got a cute little Zoid kit when I was there.
I’ll be in Tokyo in November and I’ll be on the hunt for Macross and Godzilla merch. Maybe some Gundam for my brother too.

I've been really interested in those old Imai Macross kits. I'd love to try one of the transformable ones.
oh yeah! A lot of those old macross kits have really interesting designs. The transformable ones seem cool too!

I'm not into Gundams but really like the designs. Thanks for the video 😊😊😊
I feel mostly the same! I like the designs more than the shows, though I do love me some G gundam.
Thanks! Added it to the list of places to go when I visit Japan.
It's Pixxellies time!!!
thats right!
Let’s goooo !

I bought some hard-to-find sofvi on Mandarake. They are very good!
If you do another tour, would you please consider covering the sofvi, too?
I'll try my best!
love the videos, can you show more on the tools side more 😃. planning to buy them next year during gbwc

yeah go to this one (address in description). the other one only sells doujin manga
Good thing that store is half a continent and an ocean away, as my money would be gone in a flash!

Those Macross Kits look really cool, I always liked the designs of the mechas in that anime specially the valkirye. Are they affordable?
@@miguelgomez718 the old ones are crazy cheap
Depends on the kit. The Hasegawa kits are very affordable. The Bandai ones that transforms are a bit more pricey
Hasegawa ones are very affordable, but they need glue and paint.
Will I find the MG Freedom 2.0 here?
I saw the MG Justice in the video.
love this vid thanks me and the wife going back this December
I want to buy PerfectGrade Gundam in tokyo could you give me some advice?
Do you know any place in Japan we can get BMC chisels?
Considering many shops in Japan prohibit filming or taking pictures have you had any problems yet filming like that right in the open?
I've not had a problem because I try to never film other customers or peoples faces
So cool
makes me want to go visit!
wäre froh hier im Saarland so einen geilen Shop zu haben 😞
I finally moved to Tokyo 🗼❤
congrats!
Sooo many Macross kits...i so need to make my way there one day.
👍
thanks!
Funny thing somehow it’s very hard to buy n get them back to US😂😂
U must be a dream girlfriend material
U know more robot series than many guys 😂😂😂😂

I was there and can't decide what to buy so I left with nothing :)
