A lot of things are compartmentalized. For example, a team working on a new IP has to ask permission to the higher-ups to include Mega Man as a cameo and they could be denied despite everything being under the same roof so to speak. It could be a similar situation at this store; the senior executives call the shots & if they wanted it to be more of a museum-like place, you would see all their classics, some of which they no longer hold the licenses to despite being developed by them (Strider being a prime example, Capcom doesn’t own it 100%, it’s actually an adaptation from a manga by a Japanese publisher) but who knows
Thank you for the Capcom store tour and explanations. I don't think I'll ever get to visit Japan, so at least I get a chance to see a bit of it through your videos.
Doesn't the arcade have any of Capcom's classic games from the 80's and 90's to play like Commando, Ghosts 'n Goblins, Section-Z, Trojan, Legendary Wings, 1943, Bionic Commando, Final Fight or Strider?!
I accidentally bumped into this place when I saw the advert in Ikebukuro station. But I totally missed the goods shop with all the Monster Hunter stuff. Which corner of the floor is that?
Definitely a missed opportunity not having some more obscure franchises represented! Oh, well, still pretty cool. I wonder how popular those trading card arcade cabs are. I never see anyone sitting at them when I see them in videos or back when I visited. I just imagine someone strolling in with some dark shades on and a briefcase containing their uber rare cards, ready to get down to some serious business.
I noticed that there are a lot of remakes of classic anime recently. Urusei Yatsura and Ranma 1/2 probably being the most notable. Do you get the impression that there is currently a nostalgia push in Japan for 80s and 90s franchises?
I will have to visit this! Seems like a fun place. Were there any of the versus merchandise such as Capcom vs Marvel or Tatsunoko vs Capcom apparel? Perhaps have a section for their classics. Thank you for covering this!
It's funny how none of the capcom arcades i've ever been to have retro capcom games but I can go to a taito and they may have 3rd strike or other various old games. Local hiroshima taito had 3rd strike and a cave company shmup and columns.
omg thank u for reviewing this place, i didnt know it exist!! i thought capcom store is only in shibuya haha... May i know when did u visit this store in this video? im coming to japan next week and i need to know if the capcom cafe in ikebukuro still having the same merchandise or not
Wow, I love Capcom but this place is weak. Barely any sign of their history or even anything related to their modern games. Considering the size of the place they could have had at least some space dedicated to an arcade museum with playable versions of their classic games, and a store with their PS4/PS5/Switch collections of games to buy along with related merchandise - game character figures, statues, mini arcade games or whatever.
I understand that they will tend to focus more on their recent titles, but.. how i wish they also had merchandise from they're previous franchises in there as well... =( At last MMBattleNetwork is having some cool stuff.
This place really went downhill, I was on the opening of this mall a couple years ago, it had a Capcom Biohazard VR attraction and it was really crowded. There was a huge Nemesis statue you could take a pic with.
Lol I don't see how alot of these companies can even afford to keep places like this open. I'm sure they rarely make profit with all of the money that probably goes into cost of inventory amongst other things bills, rent, etc. it looked filled to the brim with a bunch of useless stuff that probably rarely if ever gets bought. Have to make a reservation to eat at a place that looked like they had nobody in it already. It is awesome just a bit much.
Every game center now has so many gacha machines, that it's literally the opposite of fun. Japan is actually boring now in terms of game centers, most of them are just rip off gacha machines with cheap Chinese toys.
I agree, it's too bad they don't have more classic Capcom stuff. Ghosts 'n Goblins, Final Fight, Breath of Fire, 1943, Side Arms, STRIDER... Oh well.
true! I'm surprised at the lack of SF6 merch!

@@Bingo_the_Pug I was not aware that Strider was an IP not fully-owned by Capcom. Interesting.
So, it's more like a bandai-nintendo-pokemon machines store, with a cute little capcom corner shop. Great video.
kind of! lol. Thanks for watching
Thank you for the continuous coverage of these great places which I never knew if not for you
thanks for watching!
The lack of resident evil merch is truly disappointing 🙁
it did make me sad! :
"Welcome to the Capcom store." Some guy. "So what do you sell?" me. "Nintendo stuff." Salesman.
We would love to visit Japan one day and also Vist this Capcom Store. Looks like so Much Fun! Great Video
Gosh, your voice is absolutely delightful. Great vid!
Thank you! :D

@@LePopCollectibles thank you for watching! Happy to make these videos!!
That Arcade was a failure where the hell is Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo or Marvel vs Capcom 2????

can you believe they have none?! missed opportunity I think. It's a very modern arcade.
@@pixxellie Well that doesn't make any sense! How could they do that?!
And you know... actual Street Fighter II. How can you have a Capcom arcade without Street Fighter?
@@VogueDistortion right?!
for a huge capcom store im dissapointed alot of the capsules gachapon doesnt really have any capcom IP merch...
i agree!

If you’re ever tourist Japan, absolutely visit this and Joypolis in Tokyo 💙
No Obnoxious Influencers! 🚫
Very disappointed. A lot of stuff that are not from capcom.
What a cool spot. Great seeing the history of Capcom through this video.
Definitely a missed opportunity not having some more obscure franchises represented! Oh, well, still pretty cool.

lol I love that image. 😎💼
Capcom stay lacking in this department. You would think that Nintendo’s museum would widen the executives up.
When did they release this store? I only went to the Capcom store grand opening in Parco mall in 2019.
I noticed that there are a lot of remakes of classic anime recently. Urusei Yatsura and Ranma 1/2 probably being the most notable. Do you get the impression that there is currently a nostalgia push in Japan for 80s and 90s franchises?

not that I saw!
☺ your voice is so relaxing. feels like i am at the capcom spa
🥰
How fun. I visited the Capcom Store next to the Nintendo store in Shibuya, but this is much better 😄😄😄
the one in shibuya is cool too! this one is definitly a little bigger, but the shibuya location has those really cool ken + monster hunter statues!
Just in time to watch while making thumbnails 🎉
ah, my old favorite past time! lol. Thanks for watching!
In the words of the Simpsons lunch lady: “There’s very little Capcom in this Capcom Megastore”
I would totally go in there and see if I can get myself some Megaman, Street Fighter and if possible Viewtiful Joe merch.
It's funny how none of the capcom arcades i've ever been to have retro capcom games but I can go to a taito and they may have 3rd strike or other various old games. Local hiroshima taito had 3rd strike and a cave company shmup and columns.

@@g44briel I agree!
Shame the cafe was reservation only. It looked dead in there.
@@Beclu86 yeah it was a bummer!
Does Square Enix have a store like this? Im going to Japan soon and want to pick up some Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy merch.
I would go broke on the monhun merch! and the new game is coming out next year so this place is definitely a must visit
they had sooooo much monster hunter stuff! I think a lot of it was exclusive as well.
Amazing Pixelle you’re back in action you really need to do voice work lovely voice and you can make a living off it
aww thank you!
Maybe I missed it, but were there any Viewtiful Joe merch?
sadly there was not!
Good coverage.
Amazing stuff

I need MH and DMC merch raaaa, thank you for this video

Why is there virtually nobody though? Was it a private filming session?
I film my videos when stores open to avoid filming people
Where to find the best market in Japan to find great artbooks by legendary artists.
ill put that on the list for the next trip there
I'm kinda sad because I don't see any Asura Wrath related stuff 😢
agree! bring back asuras wrath!!!! one of my fav games of the PS3 era! a true classic!
I’ve not seen a single Resident Evil product in that whole damn place…
But they have Sega machines by the dozens and Nintendo games ?
What on earth ?…
they had resident evil merch in the cafe shop! quite a few pieces!
I'll only go there if mega man and Dr Wily are greeting me at the entrance and roll is gonna kick me in the ball's as i leave 😂
I didn't realise Capcom had a mega store
Mobile Suit Ensemble is the best gashapon!
it totally is!! such good quality for gacha!
Buying a diablos monster hunter pin not because I like him but because it’s the one I’ve killed the most
lol
여기가 도대체 어디요?
Thank you for this video. I had to stop watching it because I'm going to be in Japan in a couple weeks so I don't want to spoil myself anymore.
I love Capcom

Too bad, now half of anime goodies are made of acrylic plastic of all kind...

That store is rubish there hardly any capcom related stuff in there, i was very disapointed.
