I just got my first Canon; a M50 Mark 2. I’m learning there’s so much to know about photography and cameras. I decided to start looking at TH-cam videos for more info on how to best to use my camera for the results that I want and need for videography- specifically dance in low light… I’m so happy that I found your videos. They’re so educational and relatable to someone who doesn’t speak camera language. Thank you 🙏🏾
Hey whats up man? I was just going through some of your videos and noticed your jump cuts are very smooth and the pacing to your videos is very natural and nice. If there are any resources you used to help you develop your presentation style and video delivery please do share. Take care & thanks.
I recently got my canon m50 mark ii for a gift… I’m already getting a hang of it but YOU!!!! EXPLAINeddddddd EVERY DETAIL SO MUCH CLEARER AND MORE UNDERSTANDING ! THANK YOU SO MUCH I AM SUBSCRIBING NOW💯
I am so sad that I am just now finding your page! I love your videos and you are just wonderfully on camera!!! The M50 has been one of the best purchases I have ever made, and there is so much to learn about this little camera- I've had it for years but am constantly learning more and more. Thank you :)
What's up Nick? I was just browsing some of the channels of the the people in my comments section. I watched 2 of your videos and I was impressed by the way many of your jump cuts were done. I just recently (last week) learned to offset the timing of the audio and video in a jump cut by 1 or 2 frames to make it smoother and I am also experimenting with the pacing of my videos. I think if you were to niche down your video titles they would be more searchable and would get you more exposure as the titles may be too broad for a newer channel. You have a natural ability for speaking in front of the camera which I am still trying to get comfortable with and find my style. Any videos or resources that helped you learn that would be greatly appreciated. Take care!
Whats up guys? Hope that helped. If you have any other questions just leave them for me in the comments, I will either try to respond in the comments or I might just make a video about it!
Yes there are ND filters that are variable meaning that you can adjust the amount of light reduction and there are some that are set at a particular amount that you cannot change. I would recommend a variable one. That way you can adjust it however you like. When buying an ND filter just make sure it matches the thread size of your lens. If you can't find an exact match then you will need step up rings to make it fit. Step up rings are pretty cheap.
@@FulaanCreative thank you so much. I can't wait for you to mentor me and my friends further, I'm going to recommend you to them. This is some quality content thank you for being so helpful and the prompt reply. -DJ

hey buddy was wondering if you could make a video on cinestyle and marvels cine. I have them both and realize they allow for better grading. But specifically after shooting it them how do you add the grade that's suppose to go with them or for instance throw on your own. No one has actually mad a video showing this so i think it would be really helpful. hope you are well! I like marvel cine as a base that I usually grade myself but would like to use the preset that comes with it but how no idea how to.
Thanks for your kind messege! I am not familiar with marvels cine. Is it a picture profile like cinestyle? If so you can grade it however you like. It depends on the footage. Once you grade it in resolve you can save it as a LUT or a power grade. That way you can apply it to future footage.
@@FulaanCreative I can never Just throw a lut on anyways lol I enjoy the tweeking process eventhough it takes so long. But like with log there are presets meant to Just grade it in a way it looks like a standard Profile. Like i think rec709 or something like that. So is cinestyle meant for you to Just do your own grade or to they have a preset to slap on after? If so would like to know where it is and how to do.
So what cinestyle does is give you a flat image. Less contrast, less saturation, more information in the shadows and it increases the dynamic range. It's not as effective as true log footage like canons c-log but it is still very good. This make it to where you can adjust the image to your preference. You can do that with color correction/grading and with Luts. I also like to do my own grading and then afterwards throw a lot on the as well. How that helps.
Hello again Fulaan. I’m using windows 11 and Davinci resolve 18 and i just purchased your luts 1 pack to use teal and orange juice. I cannot get your luts to be recognized in the program. Can you help me?
Thanks for the support! If you open the main settings tab in davinci then open where it says color management. Here you can open the LUT folder and drag the .cube files into this folder. Then restart resolve and that should do it.
Depends what type of light you are under. Daylight is 5600k which is probably the most common scenario. Just do a search about how to set white balance and that should help explain it a bit.
Thanks Andy! Thanks for the video idea! I think I will release a color grading tutorial in the next 2 weeks or so. If you have any specific questions let me know and I will try to add it to the video. Take care.
@@FulaanCreative Cool! Already subscribed and hit that bell to make sure I wouldn't miss the tutorial. If you could gave an example of how you color grading you own footage to make it more cinematic step by step, that's gonna be great and helpful for the beginners like me. I knew the color wheel and other tools , but I have no idea how to combine these tools to make my own footage looks different, is there any principle or process we should know? By the way, do what you wanna do, your TH-cam channel gonna be fire 🔥, you deserve it.
The only thing superior about the m50 vs the pocket 4k in my opinion is the auto-focus & the cheaper price. Other than that there is really no comparison.
Thanks! I don't have anything on that but it is quite simple. Make the background very lit up such as bright sunset, bright window or a lot of lights shining on the background and leave minimal or no lighting in your subject. Then just adjust your exposure (iso, aperture, shutter speed) for the background and that will make the foreground a silhouette. Hope that helps!
This video was shot after about a year of owning my first non point and shoot camera. It seemed like alot to deal with initially but honestly once you practice a few times everything becomes familiar fast. Don't worry about all the info just take bits and pieces and once you get comfortable with that then take some more bits and pieces etc...
Hi.. thanks for the video. I’ve seen people mentioning shoot at 24fps and slow it down by 0.5X. How does this different from that of the 60fps or 120fps?
24 fps is only for normal speed. For slow motion you would use 30 fps & 1/60th shutter speed (slowed down to 80% in post). For slower slow motion you would use 60 fps & 1/120th shutter speed (slowed down to 40% in post) and for even slower slow motion you would use 120 fps & 1/240th shutter speed (slowed down to 20% in post).
do you have a video on how to transfer images and videos from a canon m50 mark ii to your computer step by step? I downloaded image transfer utility 2 from the internet but im not sure what settings i need on the camera to transfer the videos,
I just take out the SD card and hook it up to the computer with a usb SD card reader. If you connect the camera to the computer I believe you can just drag and drop the files.
@@jessemartin1876 for adding custom picture profiles to the m50 you need to download the eos utility app from Canon. It has an option for adding custom profiles.
@@FulaanCreative I believe I did, it's just Im having trouble doing anything with it since it involves connecting your camera to your computer using wifi, and I mean videos not really pics
Really a useful stuff for beginners.. As iam going to buy m50 mark 2 this video helps me out to gain some knowledge about the settings! Thanks buddy - wishes from india.
was this video shot on 4k or just regular full hd? and could you give me your thoughts on the canon m50 kit lens (15-45mm). I have this lens with the camera and idk if its me or the lens making my cinematic videos not look as good.
This vide was shot in 1080 and then upscaled to 4k for youtube. The kit lens isn't bad but a better lens would help. I'd go for an EF adapter and grab cheap 50mm f1.8 EF lens. If you stay with the m-mount the 22mm f2 isn't bad for the price. Even if you just stick with the lens you have the most important thing is lighting. Either natural or artificial. Once you learn how to use light properly the lens doesn't matter nearly as much.
I just had to subscribe, great stuffs, but I have a question. I recently bought a canon m50 mk ii and the outside shots are usually white like yours in the video. I set my iso to 800 and aperture to 3.5 that is the highest my kit len can go. I find it difficult always having to change camera setting S any time I go out vlogging. Would using the ND filter just solve this problem.
New follower and I have a question on the Canon EOS M50 Mark ii regarding RAW photos. I’m new with this particular camera and just wanted your opinion on should I use raw or jpg. I am going to be using the camera for you tube videos and also photography. Appreciate your help! Thank you!
If you want to edit the photos in post then shoot raw. If you want to leave them as is then shoot jpg. If space on your hd and Sd card isn't an issue you can set it to shoot both
Hi. I had a photography question. I’m looking to get a beginner camera and wanted your professional opinion on which one you believe to be a good first time camera. $250 canon T7 or $$480 canon M50 mark 2
one of the big problem with m50 mark ii is 4k shooting. I cannot solve the focus problem with this model and Sigma 16mm lens. Do you have any suggestion for this focus issue?
This video was recorded with the m50 mark i, which is pretty much the same thing as the mark ii except that the mark ii has basically a firmware update over the m50.
Great videos!! So informative!! I Just purchased my canon m50 mkii and I love it!! Quick question though, I am based in the UK and iv bought this to record for a TH-cam channel where I will be doing product reviews on airsoft guns and equipment, I’d like to film using 24fps but as I’m in the uk the PAL setting doesn’t offer that option, only NTSC! If I switch to the NTSC setting to allow me to select 24fps, will I run into any problems with filming/quality/editing/uploading etc even though I’m in a PAL region? Any advice or info greatly appreciated 😁
Congrats on the new cam. As far as I understand you will not run into any problems unless it is being filmed for television broadcast. For you tube NTSC is better. The only concern is that once in a while you may get a flickering light problem due to the lights in the PAL region. If that were to happen you could simply change the light flickering settings from 60hz to 50hz etc. that would solve any potential flicker issue while still allowing you to use NTSC Hope that helps. Take care.
The term cinematic is very loosely used but mostly we can say that it refers to a pleasing image, a filmic or pro look. the FPS is important, 1080 vs 4k not as important. The lighting and lenses are more important than the settings but this particular video was more focused on settings. There is another video I have that explains lenses and focal length th-cam.com/video/U6KGsu3RPl8/w-d-xo.html - For lighting I may make one soon.
@@FulaanCreative I starred as an actor in a couple of films, one Oscar nominated film alongside Dame Judi Dench and Steve Coogan. I noticed that they adjust the zoom and focus of the lens manually or have the cameraman/director of photography/ cinematographer have an assistant literally just to handle the lens as we move around the room. The lenses are often more expensive than the camera as I understand unless you're using a red dragon or helium etc. I can't wait to hear what lens you suggest to start off with for the cinematic filmic look. I'm producing a couple of projects for my nations broadcasting station but have to submit a pilot with no budget and another project with low budget if done successfully so I'm grateful to have found you someone who can mentor from the basics to the advanced works, in the meantime I'll be soaking up all your knowledge you laid out so far in your videos like a sponge 😁. I'll be paying you back your props in due if all works well. Great teachings man.
Your channel deserves more subs. Easily one of the best content I ever seen. Love it, Fulaan! One question if I may: for CiniStyle, I looked in my Mark II manual but didn’t see anything about how to upload a new Picture Style like CiniStyle? I’ve already requested the link from your website and will definitely purchase the LUTs pack, but how do I install CiniStyle on my camera? Thanks man, you’re the best!!!
Thanks for the kind words! You need to download the canon EOS utility software. It then has an option to install custom picture profiles. Hope that helps. Take care.

@@FulaanCreative I’m gonna try first thing after the kid goes to school. I only had seen “XM..” type files. I’ll keep you updated. Thank you Fulaan 🙏🏼
In this video you said you don't like auto white balance so you set it at a constant (something)temperature? What temperature did you say?
Depends what type of light you are under. Daylight is 5600k which is probably the most common scenario. Just do a search about how to set white balance and that should help explain it a bit.
thanks@@FulaanCreative
Thank you!! Super helpful!!
You are welcome. Glad it helped.
Do u also use a drone for ariel footage? If so what kind for color grading?
I've never used a drone as of yet. Looking forward to it though.
@@FulaanCreative ahh, me too,
Dope video bro! On point! Peace ✌🏾
Thanks man!
Hey dude, great content , thanks for sharing ,hope you could make a new episode about your color grade skills.
@@tzx119wade Thanks Andy! I hope you are right!
Would this be a good substitute for the black magic pocket 4K
The only thing superior about the m50 vs the pocket 4k in my opinion is the auto-focus & the cheaper price. Other than that there is really no comparison.
I must say the best tutorial I have seen yet. Real easy I am going to follow you. Do you have anything on silhouettes with video?
Love the editing !!!
Thanks man! I appreciate that.
I just love this guy
Thanks!
Lots of the information. This is my first non-point-and-click camera and I am very intimidated by it. Thanks for making it sound simple.
This video was shot after about a year of owning my first non point and shoot camera. It seemed like alot to deal with initially but honestly once you practice a few times everything becomes familiar fast. Don't worry about all the info just take bits and pieces and once you get comfortable with that then take some more bits and pieces etc...
Thanks for your encouragement.
No problem.
Hi.. thanks for the video.
@@FulaanCreative does this work as well with downloading cinestyle to the camera?
@@jessemartin1876 for adding custom picture profiles to the m50 you need to download the eos utility app from Canon. It has an option for adding custom profiles.
@@FulaanCreative I believe I did, it's just Im having trouble doing anything with it since it involves connecting your camera to your computer using wifi, and I mean videos not really pics
@@jessemartin1876 i believe you can also use a cable as well.
Really a useful stuff for beginners.. As iam going to buy m50 mark 2 this video helps me out to gain some knowledge about the settings! Thanks buddy - wishes from india.

Our team wishes this channel to grow more heights 🙌
Do you know how i would adjust shutter speed on the canon m50 mark ii.? I dont see anyting on it accpet regular canon m50s
tap on the little icon that says "1/50"....it might say "1/100" or some other number depending on what it's set to at the moment.
@@FulaanCreative is it the one that has the bulb all the way to the left?
Thanks for your very informative video
You are welcome Dragon Tech.
was this video shot on 4k or just regular full hd? and could you give me your thoughts on the canon m50 kit lens (15-45mm).
Hi please tell me which software you use to edit your content.
Hello, I use Davinci Resolve.
Amazing video Bro Super professional 🙌👍 Keep doing what you do and crushing it
I appreciate the kind words!
I just had to subscribe, great stuffs, but I have a question. I recently bought a canon m50 mk ii and the outside shots are usually white like yours in the video. I set my iso to 800 and aperture to 3.5 that is the highest my kit len can go. I find it difficult always having to change camera setting
S any time I go out vlogging. Would using the ND filter just solve this problem.
yes, 100%. You need an ND filter
What lenses do you prefer for the canon m50 for night photography shots bro?
Lot of factors there but if budget is a factor then the ef-m 22mm f2 is a descent choice.
Well done mate. Appreciate the effort and info. I am just getting into vlogging. Subbed!
Awesome. Thanks for the sub man!
Goodjob explaining! Keep it up

If space on your hd and Sd card isn't an issue you can set it to shoot both
AWESOME video.
Thanks! Glad it helped.
Thanks for the information
You are welcome.
Thanks for this video. Really good info with understandable explanations. Keep it up.
Thanks Josh!
Hi. I had a photography question. I’m looking to get a beginner camera and wanted your professional opinion on which one you believe to be a good first time camera.
$250 canon T7 or $$480 canon M50 mark 2
If it's you first camera go for the cheaper one. You could always sell it and upgrade later if it's a hobby you end keeping for the long run.
one of the big problem with m50 mark ii is 4k shooting. I cannot solve the focus problem with this model and Sigma 16mm lens. Do you have any suggestion for this focus issue?
Unfortunately the only way around it is by just using manual focus. That is one of the reasons I just avoid 4k altogether.
Really useful man, one more question, did you record this video (in your studio) with the m50 mark ii ?
This video was recorded with the m50 mark i, which is pretty much the same thing as the mark ii except that the mark ii has basically a firmware update over the m50.
@@FulaanCreative damn, looks awesome, definetely gonna get myself a m50 mark II seeing how good the quality is, thanks man
@@SachaBourlon No problem, keep in mind that the lens and lighting play a very important role as well. The lighting probably being the main factor.

Take care.
Is the cinematic look just from lighting and lenses or does FPS and 1080p or 4k come in as factors too. Is there any factors I'm missing out on
The term cinematic is very loosely used but mostly we can say that it refers to a pleasing image, a filmic or pro look. the FPS is important, 1080 vs 4k not as important.

I’ve already requested the link from your website and will definitely purchase the LUTs pack, but how do I install CiniStyle on my camera? Thanks man, you’re the best!!!
