  • How to,
    Decided to clean out and replace the oil and bearings on the front and rear differential on the Typhon 3S and change the oil on the shocks but I have since replaced the shocks on the Typhon. Sorry this video was a little out of order from my last one.

    Well found out too why it didn't want to take off straight. I had put the proline mx on it and they were great on handling and going where you pointed it. After 3-4 months I was taking it inside and noticed the tread was going low making it slide eazy and with hitting the throttle was like limited slip, one way or the other. Sooo I put the original back on and the tread is better on those even running them before getting the proline and after. The proline were even sticking to the shelf I laid the typhon on when I went to run again so I thought they were great tires until they lost traction even in a turn on grass.

    I know this is a 3yr old video, but I'd use silicone grease for plastic ring and pinion gears. White lithium gease is petroleum and will degrade/soften that plastic. Sil Glyde is a heavy-duty silicone grease that would be perfect for this. As for mesh, I'd put in a lot of time with various thickness shims to get it just right, instead of just trusting factory standard.

    That's the same problem I'm trying to fix. At first both rear wheels hooked up and would wheelie sometimes. Not sure why there are 2 different slipper clutch complete, 1 for the 3s blx s and one for the blx s and megas. The one in the diagram is the one for all 3s and megas and it ran straight from full throttle. Bought th one for 3s only and it pulls to the left at full throttle even with tightening the slipper. So I just replaced the pads on the one that came in it because it was slightly bent where the plate that hooks to the rear of the shaft and wobbled. Hard landing bent the slipper peg.

      You don’t have to tap them very hard but I like the bearing to fit snug so that it doesn’t spin on the shaft and destroy it. It’s weird though I’ve had some of them fit very easily and some of them are a little snug.

    I noticed that my input gear can slide towards the diffential slightly because one of the bearings on it is very loose, is this a problem?

    • @BarstoneRC
      @BarstoneRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well when everything is tight it won’t let it move but I have shimed the input gear on a few of my cars the get it as close to the Spur gear as possible

    • @juliuseder8365
      @juliuseder8365 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @BarstoneRC

      Well they will move that way, when u remove them they slide out that way. Are u noticing a problem or just wanted to know if it’s normal? The input gear will move on the bearings but the bearings are locked in with the baulkhard.

    • @juliuseder8365
      @juliuseder8365 3 ปีที่แล้ว
