Oh wow 1m weight oil is way to much for the 3s cars , I use 30k on the front and 10k in the rear on my outcast , you generally want heavier in the front. Also tip for you, I went to harbor freight and bought a little magnetic parts tray for a couple of bucks for my screws and such when I’m wrenching so I stop loosing screws. Great video love to wrench!
Thanks for the mention that was pretty cool and thank goodness I now know I did the right thing with my diff. I was prepared for it to blow up on me again but it is all working now and is an absolute beast!!!
I had the same bearing failure on the rear diff of my Granite. I noticed some binding when I would manually spin the rear tires back and fourth because all the ball bearings had gotten into the planetary gears. Easy fix though! Love the channel!
I been waiting 4 this video. Mine pulls right hard on concrete. It was left stock. I've checked the rear and it's fine. Now I guess I need to check the front. I may scoop some fluid out if it's all fine in there. Thanks for making this video.
I so want a 3S Typhon. They seem to be such cool buggies and they seem to have enough ground clearance to be able to run in the grass and stuff where I live. About 5 acres of the land where I live gets mowed so it's not super tall.
Good info brother.. Iv got a 3s an dammm it's good an never broke down on me. Not once.. Iv had it 2 years now an I bash it pretty hard. 👍 Great video. An Great live stream other day. Top man 👍😀🇬🇧👍
Thanks buddy for the kind words. I know the live stream looked kind of bad but the next one will be a lot better. Got a new camera and mic. And a new light.
Appreciate the video, new subscriber. Love how you do your videos and take the time to explain and mention details/tips as well as things to watch out for. I also have the typhon 3s, and was running good until today. I’m not sure if an esc issue or some gear issue...have twitchy steering but also no throttle which made me think I stripped a gear somewhere. However, I had my esc break off today where the two screws hold it down to the top of the lid but managed to get it back on using super glue on the eyelets where the screws go (did not glue the actual esc itself though). Anyway love the videos, keep them coming!
I appreciate you subscribing and thanks for the kind comments, but I recently just had the same issue with one of my cars that I lost all throttle and the steering was running very fast and it was a bad ESC sending too much voltage to the servo and burning them up.
Ya these slipper clutches can give you a headache too. I've see a video of someone tightening the slipper where they like it then dropping a little bit of blue locktite in the rear and let it set for a day to prevent the slipper tensioner from loosening. Also gonna put thicker diff fluid to see if any difference. Took the rear apart and all was fine. But remembered today about the locktite to hold slipper. So will see if it will stop pulling to one side when accelerating. I know this is an older video, but waiting tor the one to see if you figured out the problem with yours. Thx
My rear diff wont turn for some reason after first use and came here to see how to take it apart. May be similar to front but not same and redundent. Thats what I came for so you only show half the vehicle. Im frustrated with this after one use so its not your fault but it would have been nice to see. So now I find another video hopefully to show it.
i still have to rip the rear diff out of my senton and find out why its not getting any power, most likely a stripped gear but who knows lol, a great vid for sure, should help me out a little when i finally do it since you said the diffs are the same as the senton
I put some 60k and the rear of my senton a d kept the stock in the front so far handles not bad but its winter I'll see in the spring if I like it still lol
@@BarstoneRC Bars every time I look for Arrma 3s blx diffs your shows come up 1st💎💯💎🎯 but the way you remove your diff is a hectic route you should defo check out Shen rc 4 screws per ex end and diffs WANT to come out no need to pull start shocks😬💯🥳🥳 and again Thank you for the show Bars it looks alot
It's the rear bumper off of a 4s outcast, with a front granite bumper mount/ spring...I beleive the senton uses the same front mount/ spring as the granite too...
3s and 4s diffs are identical. They are both absolute garbage. The mention was quite cool! On Monday some fpv parts are going to arrive and I’m gonna put it on my friends smaller 2s buggy and maybe the Kraton!!! Apparently a 3km radius but I doubt it because it was dirt cheap.
Hi I was wondering if you had the part number for that bearing in the rear end cuz mine did the exact same thing and it seems like I can't find that bearing unless I buy a whole new rear end any information will help thank you

What oil did you use for front and rear...I’m doing my diffs in a few days and need recommendations...I think on a earlier video you used 1 mill weight...please let me know good balance....thanks
Yeah I use the 1 million the first time and it turns out I really didn’t like it. this time I put 50K in there and I Took it for a little test ride after this video and I really like the 50 K. Front and rear
Yeah I heard many people saying that the lithium grease will damage the plastic, personally I never encountered this but I started using the marine grease and honestly liked it a little bit better.
Great video! Helps beginners like me a lot. Thanks for that. Is it exactly the same for the rear diff? How often do you do this kind of maintenance? Just in case of a strange behavior or regularly?
They’re both exactly the same and depending on what kind of driving you’re doing if it’s in a lot of mud or a lot of constant street running I would do it at least once every six months.
@@BarstoneRC hi bro, following this answer, if my typhon is new i have to wait 6 months too? And there is no problem if a use the same diff oil from stock i mean still using 10k front and rear. I’m new in this hahaha sorry have a great day 👍🏻

Yeah it’s 50 K in the front and rear but this is a 3S car so it has a slipper clutch in the middle. But I took the car for a quick run on the pavement and it’s running much better now

The designer of the 3s line up really did a great job as far as making these RC’s maintenance Friendly. Very easy to work on compared to a lot rc’s
Yes they did. Very nice to work on.
I have 200k diff fluid in my kraton v2 4s and I really like it. Not as much of a wheelie, she sticks to the ground and boogies. 😂🤟

After rebuilding my diff with a new ring and input gear it was a bit tight to turn. Is that normal and will it break in?
Sometimes they are a little bit more snug as long as everything is spinning though and nothing is binding. Seriously it should break in.

No, that’s normal to adjust your steering trim a little bit out of the box
@BarstoneRC ok, that is good, and I saw oily residue on the rear differential case.
My rear diff started clicking on the first battery. What happened?
If it’s clicking when you hit the gas it’s the rear differential and it probably needed shimmed
@@BarstoneRC it's all stock right out the box. Thx for the response. I just can't believe it started doing that on the very first battery out the box.
Yeah everyone is a little different some last forever other ones on the first pack and there’s no way to know.

Well it’s an outcast 4s bummer with the Typhon front skid plate lol

Have you ever encountered an issue with the diff not spinning freely after putting it back together after rebuilding the diff? Thanks for the video !
If the internal gears are the ones not turning freely it’s usually a placement of the gears inside.
