In a first, the Ministry of Railways has directed its production unit, the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai to manufacture two high-speed trains capable of achieving speeds of 250 kilometres per hour (kmph). This directive, issued by the Railway Board on June 4, 2024, is part of the production programme for the financial year 2024-25. These high-speed trains, designed with a steel body, will have a maximum speed of 250 kmph and a running speed of 220 kmph, and will be constructed on a standard gauge.Over the past year, the Railways has been developing a test track for standard gauge trains in Rajasthan. This track aims to assess the Railways’ capabilities in high-speed train development and facilitate the export of Vande Bharat trains, which must be converted from broad gauge to standard gauge, the globally accepted standard.

Its a very practical view of the recent developments. Sticking to steel is not a good decision, we should Move towards aluminium. Lack of visionaries like Mani sir in railway board is hurting the interests of the nation

Was mani sir a member of railway board? I don’t think so. Railway board is like a monarchal empire with board members as its king who are not answerable to public. They aren’t even under the control of ministry that’s why you can see changes in road transport but railway is almost as stagnant as it was. Rulers of railway don’t want any changes hence the sabotages with the Vande Bharat program.
Yea we already know the technology of bullet trains 🚄 from yt, can't we do R&D here 🙁.
Average speed of India's fastest train vande Bharat is 76 km / hr , railway should focus on increasing the average speed of vande bharat between 130 to 150 km/hr

I think this is a great analysis. Trains above minimum of 200 km speed are considered High Speed Trains. 1. we don't have standard gauge tracks. so these efforts will be worthless for India. Its nearly impossible to convert broad gauge to standard gauge. 2. our tracks are too curvy for 220 avg speed 3. trains need tilt technology to sustain speeds above 160 km, which we don't have. 4. we don't have fencing to stop people and animals crossing anytime.
Instead we need to focus on 1) making the tracks straight to allow high speeds , or continue to add new routes which allow super fast 2) R & D facility for bullet & lavitation technology - Maglav 3) Over night transformation is not possible given the high demand, but on priority basis, needs continues improvement of tracks quality, fencing, adaptation of latest train technologies 4) ENCORAGE PRIVATE PLAYERS. They will emerge better than ICF

Govt should work on making normal trains better first , they are overloaded and late. Mumbai local needs serious attention plus trains in festivals are hell of experience
AWESOME ridding and driving 🚘 Vanday bharat train🎉
We donot need 250kmph train! We need collision free train system ! Every other day trains are colliding. 2 days back in North Bengal, a train collided with another goods train.
Exactly what I was saying people were saying this will replace E5 bullet train from japan due to price issues that would be like driving a Maruti 800 on autobahn
Mumbai CR aur WR me tracks ke liye new improved design wale slippers lagaye ja rahe hai especially fast railway tracks pr !!
Aur mission raftar pr bhi simultaneously kaam chalu hai !!!
Railway need tilting technology to achieve very fast average speed.
Its possible by producing the high horse power engine by adopting double motor system in under the axle of the train could produce high speed engine like 250 km per hour
If they are able to make it. Definitely we can try and get 300 too, and can be utilised in different bullet corridor too.. till we are not able to manufacture bullet for upcoming corridor. Can save the cost, and will give us more exposure in RND. And ofcourse export too..
Is there any news of chittaranjan locomotive works?
It is absolutely possible to make a 250 Kmph train from stainless steel, the 300 kmph korean Korail Class 100000 or KTX-I is an example of that, the trade-off there is very higher weight and power consumption along with more strain on the propulsion systems but with ease of manufacturing.
It may not be possible to run right now, but we must prepare for the future.
Secr me bhi dhyan dena chahiye railway ko 😢
Please make video on secr train delay issues
First of all, even a normal AC-lhb coach can achieve 250kmph.... We don't need make a new separate train to achieve 250kmph.
Second of all, we only need to upgrade the tracks. And yes it doesn't mean that it has to go full concrete tracks/balastless tracks. All the tracks can go same method with balast, but with new and improved version of balast tracks. Many of the countries are using these as well in order to achieve not only 250kmph but also 300kmph...
Tracks needs to be maintained and new tracks are needed for this
I find it strange that Mr Sudhanshuji who developed Vande Bharat in 18 months now finds it difficult to develop Vande 250 over 3-4 years by just improving existing technology
I think its too much to expect from ICF at the moment but I would be happy if they managed to prove me wrong. Its not that I doubt their technical expertise but currently we simply do not have the aluminum based casting infrastructure to make such trains and if they do make it with steel rakes it might be rejected outside. Also ICF is a strong player in broad gauge not in standard gauge.
It can be possible at elevated Mumbai Delhi Express like Highways both side of single lane @ interval of every 30 minutes. It saves lot of fuel & traffic. Travel time will be cut down to 1/3rd time.
We have to make 300 kmph train is normal and public private partnership can make this train because private company technology we can used and make train perfectly 😊
This country is run by those bastard socialist how can we expect innovations
It can be done by using technology developed by startup - Nevomo, their technology enables magnetic levitation on existing traim tracks.
True
Thousands of stray cattle/animals on Indian tracks gonna love this thing for sure. Gobar chaps barking about fencing the bullet train track in the comments must understand that India simply can't build a new new high speed rail track from the scratch, we can't even think of adding extra lines in existing Konkan railways 🤦♂️ but heck we can afford to give free ration to 80+ crore people while some are dreaming of having bullet train 😂😂😂😂😂
Bullet trains run on elevated tracks. And are barricaded in areas where they run on the ground level.
@@Dr.Kraig_Renthe baracading must be everywhere , vandevharat has already hit many cattles
have you ever heard of elevated tracks and fencing? I know it's a very radical idea
@@rei_2833you are acting like normal trains don't hit animals.
Barricading is being done....... On routes where higher speed are to be achieved.
Bhai wo testing track broad guage ka h na ki standard guage ka.
IMO before focusing on modernizing our railway we should wait until our Per capita GDP reaches 6000-7000USD because there is not point in bringing bullet train here if our people can't even afford it govt even have to subsidise normal trains for lower income community of our country
Ye Prakriti ka niyam hai.

Simple question - can't high speed rail be possible on broad gauge tracks?so even if this 2 aluminum 250kmph trains are developed for export...they can be slightly altered and modified to be used in India?...

Unfortunately we don't have tracks for tht kind of speed
It is easy!! Claim 250 kmph and say operationsl speed 120!! Like we did with vandebharat 😂
I will say it again. First identify around 75 to 100 routes on whoch Vande bbarat and premium trains run. Then, revamp the railway tracks to handle 250kmph spped.
This is the very first step which should be anounced.
Once it is done. Other routes can be started as well.
It is an urgent requirement now. Its 2024 already and we are still stuck on 130 kmph max.
Fast track it. Atleast make 2 3 routes in next 7 8 months. Vande bharat k capacity toh pata chale
Please provide us atleast any train & railway lines 🙏🙏
Maine bola tha 250 wali train standard gauge per he chalne wali banai jayegi
i want to ask what are the reasons for poor quality and finishing of government built properties
Let first Vande sleeper roll out and make that standard sleeper in IR. 160/hr avg speed should be standard for all exp trains now
They have been asked to make 250 kmph on standard gauge for export.
280 kmph speed बाला ट्रैन बनाने चाहिए
You know about this government and Indians ability, we make very impossible task possible
ghanta .
I think Jo bullet train corridor hai wo bhi standard gauge pe hai toh these might be supplementing shinkansen services
The problem with a govt arm developing trains is that it doesn't hire experienced talent or invest in R&D, hiring foreigners is a no go. They dont want to pay high salaries, even though they would give other companies high prices to develop it. Places like US, Europe and even China welcomes talent, pay high salaries, may have high manufacturing cost, but always other countries still import designs from them, even if they dont import the full product.
Titagarh can do they have already developed aluminium metro and also they are an Indian company.
एलोमिनियम ट्रैन होनी चाहिए
Idea of 250km train is to run train on bullet train tracks... It will have india to develop new trains with full research

MANI SIR IS RIGHT
It is actually unrealistic we don’t have Aluminum Facilities and Aluminum is a light metal too…
It is indeed impossible and it becomes important for ICF to set up realistic goals… 220 on standard gauge and of global standards for exports to advance countries is going to take time…
Good part is they have started but it is not possible until they have all the necessary requirements and materials…
There is no crying need for a 250 Kmph bullet train. The present trains like Gatiman and Vande Bharat are sufficient. What seems to be deliberately kept hidden in most of the train accidents is the sabotage factor. Let us become self sufficient in our newly developed trains and not be too eager to export these.
Hamara focus bullet trains tracks ko jaldi aur saste me banane pe jyada focus karna chahiye...
Uska sabse ashan tarika hai building at grade tracks for bullet trains...
Current project ka sabse bara cost hai viaducts banana jo costly time consuming hai...
Ye bohot challenging hone wala hai considering indian conditions...
China ne sabe fast high speed train network banaya kyunki wo at grade kam kar rhe hai...
Rahi baat 250 km ki trains ki to usse aacha hoga hm maximum routes pe 180 choro 150 ya 140 pe hi run kar len to commute time kafi kam ho jaiga aur iska cost bhi kam hoga...
Baki paisa bullet train me dal ke uske network extension pe kam karen...
Lakin agar hm viaducts pe construction karte rhe to agle 20 sal me bhi 5000 km nai bana painge aur uska ticket cost bhi indian public ke lie unaffordable rahega
Higher speed train needs dedicated tracks. Slow moving trains and higher speed trains in the same tracks may cause accidents considering the density of high train traffic on Indian railways. However higher speed standard gauge train manufacturing for Mumbai -Ahmedabad rail corridor may not be that impossible. Because these trains will likely be 8 coaches. If further reduction of weight by fabricating coaches with aluminum sheets and furnishings with light weight materials can be done and more powerful motors with higher gear ratios can be inducted then it may not be impossible.

wo sab to thik hai, first and foremost existing traino k timings aur hygiene & sanitation par zor dena chahiye. Meri Delhi se guwahati ki train 15 ghante late thi 😡
Jai.Hind jaiBharat,
At least one of the train manufacturing facilities or an independent metallurgy facility should be equipped with aluminium extrusion facilities. The aluminium thus extruded can also be used in defense or aeronautical research and manufacturing. Govt is pushing for the development of AMCA, TEDBF, Twin Engined Tejas 2, so a facility that can cater both to the railways and HAL and DRDO etc. can be established for aluminium extrusion, topped with a metallurgy research wing.
I read an article that states that ICF is given this task to develop trains with a capacity to run at 250KMPH for MAHSR project only. As the cost of the Shinkansen train has increased since 2017 and now it is going out of budget. The talks with Japanese counterparts have not been fruitful in terms of cost reduction
