      Yes bro that's what I faced during last Diwali ! A Bihari couple was sitting on my seat with children and luggage , they have TT made fined. ticked and they refused to vacate my seat and I had to travel standing with my younger brother! The train was so crowded that no RPF or TT could enter the coach and I couldn't physically force a women so I let them go!

    Honestly I felt very disgusted as during one of my recent 3AC journey, I felt like I was travelling in a general class, once the train entered into Bihar. People from rural Bihar and UP don't have any civics sense and honestly I would never choose a train to go to Delhi again, unless I don't have any other option.

    I remember 15 years before the TCs use to visit all reserved compartment to check Tickets & allot seats for RAC & WL passengers but now except AC coaches no coaches whether reserved or non reserved are checked by TC, infact they rarely visit these coaches

    A few days back I was travelleling in train 11801 Jhansi Prayagraj Express from Jhansi to Mauranipur in a sleeper coach and definitely the the situation was even worse than general coach , we are kind of stored in the coach like chickens in a van , so I agree that railways must do something of overcrowding

    Indian Railways is a loss making entity, we in a blind spree of poverty porne, degraded our systems to such extent. Now we are doing the right things. Payup, nothing is for free. Even your parents love you till they know you would be able to support them in old age. Why should the govt. act in such a manner. as if these people are thier son-in-laws.

    *Some suggestions:*
    1. At some point in time, railways should enforce cleanliness & civic sense on passengers of all classes. 2.Adequate water should be provided in these compartments and passengers should be allowed to travel only with backpacks or extra luggage charges should be levied in sleeper classes. The whole station stinks of urinal, which is main reason if alternative mode is available people prefer to take that.
    3. AC coaches & Reserved compartments should be well protected by railway guards and shouldn't allow non-passengers to enter, otherwise what is the point in paying extra! Again alternate mode would be better off.
    4. Unreserved train tickets are very very low... railways can increase them lightly and provide more coaches!

    This situation can overcome with multiple efforts:
    Rise in percapita income so that everyone cn shift to ac coaches
    Bihar and UP should develop infra and attract industries to avoid mirgration...UP has started it bt Biharis are still in caste politics.
    Heavy expressways construction so that travel time decreases and buses can pull the crowd frm trains
    Freight corridors needed so that freight trains clear passenger tracks and more passenger trains cn be braught in services...
    Dedicated ac chair trains on routes where migrating population is present so that they cn pay and get ac services and also cn be kept accountable on ticketing and no seat encrochment in chair cars

    It will be a great initiative. 2 days before in our state kerala a drunkard migrant worker killed a ticket examiner for he got fined for traveling in train without taking ticket. All the trains in India must be have automatic doors and fully air-conditioned . And must withdraw all general compartments 🥵🥵🥵🥵

    only solution is lay down more railway lines, trains are already working at 130-150% of the capacity. We are building 36 kms of roads every day but only 600 m of railways, lay down more railway lines, increase the no of trains, separate ac & non ac travel for full ac train fare could be lowered down a bit so sleeper class could shift to it, add more sitting class coaches, etc.

    Actually Indians are having more purchase capacity for AC coaches ! when compared with last 15yrs. More over there is more and more demand for AC coaches!!! If railways does not do it ! Airways and Road infrastructure has become so good that we can travel by our own vehicles! Ultimately we need to bail out Indian Railways through the taxes paid directly or indirectly.

    SL and GN should be separated. All AC trains should be given more priority and upgrades so that those who are paying can get a good experience, and combine SL and GN into separate GN class trains so that people on budget can go there.

    Double decker chair with extra comfortable cushioning and decent reclining is the only way out if they don't want to add trains or increase coaches and size of the loop line.
    Vande Bharats will only worsen the current situation as it boggs down the schedules of other trains nor it is affordable nor it runs at the speed advertised initially and usually runs with 40-60% occupancy.

    Many people who used to book sleeper now book 3AC just because of the extra security they get in AC coaches. Random people do not encroach their seats and there are regular ticket checks conducted in AC coaches at least in south where I live. There is the added security that closed windows provide against theft and chain snatching. I genuinely feel the existing First AC, 2ND AC, 3RD AC and sleeper can stay together but, general coaches have to be run as seperate trains. Give priority to people who pay for a service.

    Government has to increase sleeper coaches and general compartment coaches in all trains as these are the affordable coaches for the middle class and the poor who are bulk of the population, if Railways reduce these coaches, then the desperate and frustrated poor people will be forced to use Sleeper and AC coaches which will inconvenience even the passengers who have booked tickets in those coaches. Railways must always think of bulk of the population and arrange trains and coaches accordingly. Period

      Poor people will always make the bulk of the population. They progress the slowest and breed the fastest. There is no moral obligation on progressive people to have their hard honest money spent on those who want freebies and facilities for cheap without merit. Government is also mostly formed by these same people who choose unworthy politicians from their religion, caste, class and community expecting favors from them instead of choosing the learned, devoted people. Nobody can tell the poor people to let go of patriarchy, to stop reproducing if they are poor, instead, reduce the family and work on education and get a job or start a business until they have decent money and property to properly feed their family and kids.

    In our nation where 80cr of people having food by govt for living …. Admin is saying that they should book sleeper tickets . first the basic purpose of any public transportation in our nations. When it comes to Railway was for welfare purpose so that people will be able to go from one place to-other and then easy and such coaches will be leading to a chaos inside the train, specifically to the Bihar and UP region, instead of reducing coach track quality should be improved and new trains should be started, which is entirely general such as all general Vande Bharat

Mai monthly rent ye wo sab janeke Baad I have to spend 3200 minimum for my travel. Jab ki mai sleeper me 700 tak spend kar k Jaa skta hu
      I don't mind if 700 ka 800 ho jaye but it made the cost more than double now. Ye konsa logic hai ki remove sleepers

And ac coaches our first priority. There are millions of Indians like us, who can't afford air tickets but we can afford the second ac or third ac.

    Totally agree, instead of adding variety of coaches to a single train, it'd be better to have exclusive general coach train, sleeper coach train and ac coach train. the Names of the train should be same and numbers should vary by adding a suffix letter, eg: 23456G for General Coach train, 23456S for sleeper coach train and 23456A for AC coach train.

    Agree with your analysis.
    sleepers have become new general class coaches, and 3rd AC is not far behind, general ticket holders enter and sit on reserved seats and don't move even when asked and ticked showed. And due to huge numbers TT isn't able to do much either. I am a first gen Tax Payer, My parents always choose to travel by train(out of lifelong habit) instead of flight(even though we can afford it now) and everytime they are complaining about the same thing. I've started to book 2nd AC or sometimes 1st AC just to ensure they are able to travel comfortably.

    Filhaal toh aisa lagg rahaa hain kii railways 65-35 ke ratio mein trains chalaane chaahiye. 65% fully non AC trains at 130 km/h and 35% fully AC trains at 160 km/h.
    (Ya phir 60-40 ratio karna chaahiye).
    AC and non AC trains ko fully segregate kardo.

      Bro you also need to understand ki india abhi bhi per capital income me ek achi country nhi hai to humko samajhna hoga sabhi class ke logo ka dhyan rakhna hoga aur amrit bharat trains koi kharab trains to nhi hain but general coaches me bhi costly nhi hone chaiye par general coaches ka price normal hona chahiye

      @@deepenjangpangi4874 mai bata hoon. Agar Railways aise hi karte rahe toh yeh middle class Air travel mai shift ho jayenge. Air travel bhaut jada cheap hota Jaa Raha hai. Kabhi ticket ke prices dekhna aur travel ke.
      AC travel is a necessity and not a luxury. Plus speed bi improve hogi. Tumhe nahi pata but air drag se kafi accident ho chuke hai foreign countries mai. This is simple physics.

    Instead of adding AC railway coaches, Railway should need to replace General coaches with Sleeper on,latter on convert into AC when India peoples purchasing power grow in real and 1st ac coaches should be needed on 1 or 2 in one train not more than that.

    I feel the simple solution would be introduction of two class of train for same route having same name which departs almost at similar time, like one separate ac train for premium experience and on non ac sleeper for other section. This will mitigate the problem but I feel it will also increase social divide among others. Tricky situation…..

    Muje lgta h ac chair car ki numbers increase krna bhi accha option ho skta h at least in intercity or short root trains. Jo ki affordable bhi hoga and more comfortable for passengers also it meight be revenue generating initiative.
    In my point of view this can solve this "Bhid -Bhad" issue in sleeper as well as general class also.

    People enters without tickets and creates crowding.
    In last 2 years railway experience deteriorated.

    very good decision taken by IR as it should have been done earlier, People now a days can easily get job or create one using their opportunities, but that does give you the option to be under the poverty line......this thing should happen in multiple departments of government.........not everything should be taken care off by government some things also needs to be taken care by the people itself

    The only solution is to separate AC trains and Non AC trains. This way more general and sleeper class coaches can be accommodated. AC trains can be allocated as per demand in routes.

    Railways should install automatic ticket checkers at every station. Many TC's would lose their jobs, but they rarely do their job anyways.

    I have had a bad time with the general seat for the first time when i used it.
    I am pretty sure a lot i mean a lot of them were people without tickets.
    So i dont mind this step. You pay for a service and use it.

    We never travelled through AC coaches 5 years before now it's mostly by 3AC or 2AC (if tickets for 3AC) were not available people jump in and stand near washrooms or even make their way onto our seats
