- ‘Make in India’ bullet trains on Vande Bharat platform! The Indian Railways has assigned the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) the task of domestically producing two standard-gauge bullet trains within the current fiscal year. This decision comes as negotiations with Japanese suppliers encountered obstacles due to pricing disagreements.
The cost of a 10-coach bullet train was estimated at Rs 389 crore in 2018, with each train expected to reach cruising speeds of over 300 kmph. In 2023, the estimated supply cost was revised to Rs 460 crore per train set. Despite the Japanese consortium's willingness to supply the 'Shinkansen' train sets, the Indian Railways remains unconvinced about the offered price.
If we can build 250 kmph speed train , then it's not impossible for us to reach 350 kmph speed, I think, our engineers must be able to make it,

I hope they are able to negotiate the price down and use shinkansen because not only is it much faster at 300+, the build quality of shinkansen is much higher than vande platform. I've personally travelled in shinkansen in tokyo and it is a very quiet and premium experience. I want all Indians to experience what that feels like before making their own. Also 250kmph is minimum to be bullet train, but if your operating speed is 220, then it's not a true bullet train. This is how they always do it, there's a max that is never touched, then there's an operating, and then on the ground it would be like 180-200 in practice. This would really cheapen the project. Just run a vande bharat train from ahmedabad to mumbai then.

@@Adi-oc2hd according to economic times and a few other sources, this is meant for MAHSR as railways is not happy with the prices hitachi and kawasaki are offering for shinkansen.

Bullet trains have maximum speed 320 /350 km then how 250 km speed train called bullet train ? I think it semi high speed train

There is nothing called as bullet train, formally it’s called as high speed train. Trains having speed more than 200 km/hr are called as high speed train, generally called as bullet train. So the train being designed by icf, capable of running at speed more than 200 km/hr is also a bullet train.
@@tulsikumar2011broo, its a incremental increase, nobody jumps from 180km/hr design to 300+ design. First we should master 250km/hr segment then go for 320 or 350 km/hr segment, just like Vance Bharat being a step up from the current situation.
