I like the look for botanicals in my tanks. I think it looks more natural. Plus I'm a fan of the black water look as well.
You like the look? Yay! I think for most, the black water is an acquired taste. But I like it and good to know the little fishies do too!

Botanicals are one of the coolest and really beautiful aquarium additives that I found since coming back into the hobby. I especially love the different types of pods with their nooks and crannies. What a great little nature box!! This one has some really cool different stuff included 😁 I love the gift basket idea 💚

Talking about those leaves...I always think back to the old video where you craft punched tiny leaves for an autumn scape out of the bigger leaf. What!!? Mind blown. Yup I have that box! I put one piece of wood for my dwarf crayfish and one for my shrimps, so cute to see them crawling up them as I arrange them like little bridges 😄 and the rest I spread out between all my tanks. Can’t go wrong! 👍🏻

I've had catappa leaves and the cones, but never the bark. Looks cool and seems to be a good price! Great review! ❤❤

I am collecting sea grape leaves with the hope that I will have a free source. I really struggle at the cost of tree litter
I always use Catappa leaves in my Betta tank. And i will start a black water tank so yes I'm a Catappa fan. 😄🤗😊👌👍

I really enjoy botanicals for fish that I feel would benefit from them like of course my betta and shrimp. I kind of think my plecos would benefit from them as well. I'm actually breeding ancistrus plecos with cherry shrimp and endlers. I keep Indian almond leaves in the tank. I actually think with all that comes in that kit, it's actually not that bad of a deal even though there is a huge markup for them. I may have to buy a kit or 2. Most of my friends are not in the aquarium hobby, but then again Merry Christmas to me. Lol! I'm looking forward to seeing your new scape.

One of your very first small scape videos I ever saw was the video with the leaf punch-outs! Very awesome! I'm searching right now looking at aquatic plants and I have my 125 gallon,45 gallon hex, and 55 gallon Tanks to attempt a in Horticultural Boom-☘️Boom 🌱🌿🪴 A-GO-GO in the background of my Aquatic Boom Boxes (that's my slang term for fish Tank😄🤭🤓😇 😎😀I have been thinking about using that in Live Stream ,get everyone a -guessing 😀😂 I want to put that term on a bumper sticker)Anyway before I call Webster's dictionary with my new induction 😀😂

I just started with some botanicals a few weeks ago, I wish I had started decades ago! Indian almond leaves, my pleco fry cling to it like white on rice. I’m gonna be exploring more and different botanical very soon🙂thank you Joanna! The small scape is awesome just like you! 💯⭐️

Do you really?! That’s fun! Be your own supplier! Fun fact - there was a tree outside of the loading docks at Aquashella Chicago that had dropped a bunch of Alder cones 💪🙌👍
Just checked out the bark on Amaz*n and they have tubes of it so am going to try one and see how it goes 👍🏻👍🏻

i personally love the tannins in all my tanks....my hubby is back and forth about it with his tank....i may look into this kit once i finish going through the indian almond leaves and alder cones i bought at OCA😆👋
I've always wanted to try (did i maybe even hear it from you?) Getting a small leaf shaped hole punch, and punching some mini maple leaves out of the catappa, for small scale in a shrimp tank, would love to see your approach to that!
Oh, yes. That was one of my first videos I did on Prime Time for my punkin shrimpies!! I did another one on my channel too. My brain thinks in miniature, that’s for sure! I will have fun stuff like that coming up 😃
Cool Vid. Got almond leaves. Never seen the bark. $9.99 seems like a really fair price for this starter sample. (My humble opinion).

I got a pack of almond leaves with some shrimp food I won, but I'm too scared to use them because my tank is stable, my fish are happy, and I don't want to mess the pH up. 😊
My niece will be starting up a betta tank after Christmas. This would make a nice gift for her. Now it's just a question of finding out if she would run a dark water tank without spoiling things.

Joanna! I need help! I just got 3 X 15gal tanks second hand (so got to clean them up first and get lids!) But I don't know what to do! I'm overwhelmed!
We already have a goldfish tank and guppy + shrimp tank planted tank.... What do I do??!
Hi Beth! What a great problem to have ☺️. But seriously, I do understand. My best suggestion is to take your time! Make sure with this opportunity, you choose fish and scapes and best places to put your tanks that will make you most happy. It may be hard to wait but it will be worth it. But those size tanks are awesome for a lot of options like a school of little rasbora’s, or pea puffers!! Or sparking gouramis or small neon size tetras. So many options! Just take your time and enjoy setting each tank up!! ✨🌱🐠✨
