- Well hello there!
Today's video is kinda fun because I do like to share dumb things I do or silly things I resist doing which really can make your fishkeeping life better! I hope you share some of your dumb things!

It's always inspiring to see highly successful people who struggle with the same dumb things I do. OMG Lightbulb: We are all more alike than different after all! 😀
It's so much easier to just go and do things correctly right from the get go. This thing of putting off stuff you have to do is making your life harder than it has to be. Stop procrastinating, go do something. And get rid of your multiple tanks. It's better to have one nice one than multiple bad ones
Hi Joanna! I’d love to watch a tank cleaning video! I love a good before and after! 😊
Ok, good to hear it! 😊 🧼
I enjoy watching everthing you put out, so tha answer is YES!
😊🧼🎉
Yes! Would love to see a tank cleaning! And I'm so happy to know you do somethings that we all do! 🤣🥰👍🏼
OMG!OMG!OMG!OMG!!! This makes me feel so much better about myself and my absolute inability to do the simple jobs around the fish room. 😂
And, of all the things you've said about nana tanks over the years, the one you said today is the biggest thorn in my paw. As I continue to upscale my aquariums, simplely "shutting one down and storing it" is a serious problem. I currently have a 120 in the spare bedroom. A 90 in my wife's office and a 135 still in the back of my truck (that I went and picked up two Fridays ago), and it's gonna stay there because I literally have nowhere else to put it now.
Haha Whip!! Wow, I thought I had it bad but you’re right - with those big tanks ummmm yikes! Good LUCK!!
@@thesmallscape Well, that just means your storage areas have a lot MORE tanks in them than mine 🤣
sure clean that tank!
Would that duckweed be easier to remove if you added some water back in and let it sit? And yes, I definitely would like to see a tank broken down and rescaped. Before and afters are so much fun!
Hey Joanna! I loved the video and yes, I'd love to see a tank cleaning video. I'm always looking for tips and tricks I haven't figured out yet! Keeping all that redundant equipment in case something breaks is a great tip that more people need to follow. Thanks for all the great videos!
Before and after cleaning! So satisfying!
🙌🙌🙌
Would love to see every step of it!
All that hard scale and extra tanks....Wow! Can't wait to see what you've done with the loft and I hope those empty tanks mean that we get to watch you r escape them.
Ahh “Other fishkeepers in the house” is one less concern of mine 😂
🤭😎
You are a wealth of information, Joanna. Great way to wash the little ones. Nice changing the substrate for the color in the fish. Doing the cleaning of the tank and setting it back up will make a nice tutorial video for you. I think you should do it. You have the knowledge and skill.
Yes! I watch cleanings and maintenance to see how others do it and see if I can learn any tips.
That's my basement and gardens! I repurpose old gravel and substrate into my gardens to break up the native clay for plant installations - free fertilizer and better texture. I also just upgraded my planted 29 gal. and 5 gal. Betta tank to the new NiCrew programmable/smart lights...one less task. The previous generation lights will be repurposed into my 100 sq. ft. basement houseplant growing area.
Many thanks for your great videos!
Bring on the Cleaning of the tank :)
🤭🙌🧼
Lol, we are the same person 😂 *look at the thing, tell myself to do the thing, still don't do the thing*
Would you ever considering looking at viewers set ups and suggesting the ideal tiny inhabitants? Might be a fun series idea 💖
I have not taken down a tank yet 😂. I’m in danger🤣
I agree with all of these. Taking the time to put things in order is very rewarding!
Would love to see a tank cleaning and rescape video.
I like watching the clean up!
The best!😋
I'd love to see how it looks after you're done cleaning it.
❤ tank cleaning. Extremely satisfying.
Wondered if you ever had live daphnia/water fleas suddenly show up in your tanks? Do you like them, keep them, treat it as a good food source for your small mouth inhabitants?
Curious
I traded some red cherries for Least Killifish a few months back. Just on a whim. Had no clue what they were. They were doing ok in the original tank I had them in. After I rescaped and planned it out to have more caves and a couple of rockpiles the population exploded. I think it also has something to do with me removing the huge population of red cherries that also occupied that tank. I also switched to Caribsea Moonlight! A very light colored substrate.
Went from my original 4 to a population of at least 40. Still haven't worked out what food they might be overly enthusiastic for. They like dried tubifex and flake. Very interested in bug bites but not interested in eating them when they sink.
Yes please (tank cleaning)! 😊
🙌
Thank goodness, I am not the only one who does dumb things with their tank. 💙 (Gina)
🤭🙌
I'll have to have a think on the Heterandia formosa on light substrate. My son has them in an old UNS rimless tank that came from a competition so it has that textured black paint background and caribsea eco complete capped w/ black sand so it's black on black on black (teenagers 😮💨) but they look great, I've been wanting to steal a pair from him. Maybe I'll put them on play sand and see how different they are. When I decide to finally steal them! 🤣✌️
It would be nice to see how you clean out your tank before you rescape it again.
I definitely always feel better when I collect all of my hardscape and equipment together. I hate it when I finish a scape and then find a piece that would have looked perfect later on.
Yes, isn’t that the worst?!
What substrate did you use for your "winter" tank? I am looking for something light colored without being totally white. ❤
Happy Wednesday!
Happy Wednesday!
Yes please do the reshape without the duckweed, it looks so horrible.
I know!! Doesn’t it?!?
My dumb mistakes happened before the internet was thing. All I had to work with was books published in 1950 and advice from pet store owners.😅😅
💚💚💙💙
I would love to see a tank getting cleaned, it would be a motivational video...
Coming soon! 😊
They have Smart plugs that are way better than a 1970 timer. Lol
lol - I will look into in about 10 years 🤭😂
Can I have your opinion on lidless tanks? My gf gets ready in the same room I have my aquariums (3-5 ft away) How likely is it that the sprays she uses would actually hurt my fish or water quality?
This was not a good video to check while having a migraine with the thumping musack in the background... ^^;
