    I have the same exact bike, same color and everything, had it for 16 years now with 14K on it. Nice bike 👍

    Take air pump off the right side of bike and it's opens the view of the cylinders. These bikes love the non ethanol gas. Keep Some quality oil in it and keep carbs in tune and this bike will last you well over 100,000. Manual calls for check of valve clearance every 7,000 miles. That's not realistic. Check them every 15,000-20,000 Miles. They are generally cold blooded but that really depends on your specific tuning if it's changed. Take out muffler baffles or slip on mufflers and Re jet the carbs give this bike a lot more power and better gas mileage.

    There a beast if you road gear them out and do the upgrades as well like there no joke of a bike I know someone who owns one and they did what I'm talking about and it was a beast.

    Get that front cylinder checked out. the blue hue on the pipe shows that the front cylinder is running lean

      Yea. Mine is doing the same shit, ive tuned and synced the carbs and rebuilt them....it misfires at idle and after it gets under a load it comes alive.... ive replaced plugs wires and couils for no difference at all and im still stumped. I still ride it and im getting about 40 mpg. Bike in the vid definitely isnt right because i have the same problem

    great bike. love mine, just didnt like the drag bars, put some different bars on, made it much more comfy. vance n hines exhaust. sounds a little better/louder than the cobra (but thats preference) just like a harley but without the HUGE price tag

    with a good jet kit and a larger front sprocket, the Marauder is actually pretty good... after the upgraded jet kit, air filters and exhaust, some people find they get clutch slip so may need beefier springs in the clutch... but I haven't bothered yet... it is not bad unless I am speed shifting.... but the larger front sprocket was a huge improvement... it still is fine down low.. but at highway... it is actually nice now... I need my cobra pipes repacked though... the fucker is loud as hell now... it always was loud but it is getting into harley annoying now.... decent little cruiser though.... although I have to say the steering is a little heavy though... the fat tire, rake and drag bars mean it can be twitchy at low speed or in fast maneuvers.. otherwise it is fine

    nice cruiser. exactly the kind of bike want to get...over here in he UK we have to do tests like CBT, A2, A1 and can be expensive up to around £800 i think for the full A1 licence (don't quote me on the price that's a rough guess lol)..
    happy riding and be safe

    Just looking at this tomorrow as a replacement for my Yamaha V-Star which I loved but got totaled :/
    You think $4k is a good offer for a 1997 well-kept?

    • @ebay111978
      @ebay111978  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That price is very high. This is a good bike but they have complicated carbs. I would look into perhaps a newer boulevard c50. They are fuel injected and you can get a low miles one for close to $3000

    • @G0DofRock
      @G0DofRock ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ebay111978 Interesting, he was asking like $5k but said I cant go higher than $4.5k cuz of my insurance payout.
      I have another guy selling his c50 boulevard for same price $4.5k (Canadian dollars)

    • @ebay111978
      @ebay111978  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@G0DofRock ok makes sense. I was thinking US dollars. I would still suggest looking at the boulevard c50 or m50 just because they are fuel injected and solid reliable bikes. The marauder is a reliable bike as well but between the 2 I would prefer the boulevards. I have owned both.

    • @G0DofRock
      @G0DofRock ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ebay111978 Ya Im looking at an 05 Boulevard that's perfect for $3200 CAD, told him Id pay more than whatever the guy who looks at it first offers lol

    • @ebay111978
      @ebay111978  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Does it run better with choke? You might have clogged jets if it runs with choke on. Also check the fuel pump. They can go bad as well

    • @kottonmouthking1able
      @kottonmouthking1able 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Found mine had a faulty starter relay. Sits inside the plastics near the battery on the left side of the bike. Removed relay and just jumped it with a piece of wire. It's the most common problem I've found aside from clogged lines and jets. Try the relay first tho. It will be labeled Mitsuba Starter Relay and is often known as the Suzuki Mystery Module because it's existence is nearly pointless.

      Thats good to know, for your sake. Like the bike. Is it true the valves need to be checked every 3K miles ? I hope that is wrong info.

    • @ebay111978
      @ebay111978  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Valves need to be checked every 8k as per manual. With age and miles they tend to not need adjustments often. I do mine every 10k

    • @ylism
      @ylism 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is is better news, because I like the bike, and was thinking of buying one.
      Not sure where the 3k came from for a valve check, I thought it came from the forums, I am glad to be mistaken, that is more doable, I put from 15 to 20,00+ miles a year, on the two bikes I have easy, maybe more.
      How is your bike on fuel use ?
      BTW you're right about the valves, after they seat in, they wear less over time, I have found they true on my bikes, sad thing is many people never check the valves period, they just sell the bikes. Thanks again, for the right info, Tito Sean. yl
