  • Here is the info if you want to do this yourself:
    Strukn Design: www.struckndesign.com/store/c...
    3M Primer 94: amzn.to/3KuauSn
    3M Edge Sealer: amzn.to/3Lx2HVv
    Squeegee and Razor Kit: amzn.to/3OM2fEO
    Heat Gun: amzn.to/3KBjuoN
    I was very pleased with the quality of the wrap I received from Strukn Design. Although it is easy to put on your boat, getting all the wrinkle out takes some practice, especially on curved surfaces. The good news is, most of the wrinkles are not even noticeable unless you look closely at it.
    This wrap is repositionable, but I noticed where I put the primer, it get a stronger bond and is hard to remove and reposition. Overall I am very happy with it and it completely transformed the look of my boat in one afternoon.

      Hi Alfredo. I am really happy with it. One word of advise.. I ordered it the exact width I needed which made me curve it upward toward the front of the boat and it created some wrinkles. Next time I will order it wider so I don't have to bend it. Then just cut off the excess and it will look perfect.

    I built Yachts at Stephens Bros in Stockton Ca We built Aluminum hull yachts and we used tons of automotive Plastic filler to fine tune the contours of the Aluminum Hull. It works fine. Make sure and sand off paint to raw aluminum before applying. Used a bendable piece of wood to find your high spots.

    I considered one of those for the skinny boat but I'm hard on the hull knot to mention the fish that are all the time slapping the sides and constantly brushing the sides of the Mangoves.....I've resigned myself to Rustoleum Drab Olive Green to fix all the paint loss....It's doubtful I'd get a year from one wrap.....I like the design and colors.....You will definitely stand out in the crowd🎣👀😎!!

      I'm pretty hard on my boat as well. I might have to do a follow up at the end of the year to see how its holding up. Its seems much stronger than I was expecting. It would look good on your skinny boat though.

    Good idea.I have a 16' fisha and ski that needs some dents filled and a fair bit of repaint work .I saw your vid and figured this would be a good way to clan up my dents first then sand and prep for a wrap.Would you do another wrap and how do you recommend keeping the wrinkles out ?Thansk

    • @GoMidwestFishing
      @GoMidwestFishing  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The wrap has been awesome. I would definitely do it again. Its still holding up, so I will wait until it needs it. I figured out why I ended up with wrinkles. My wrap was 18 inches wide, the exact width for the space it was going. The problem is the boat curves upward at the front, so I had to bend the wrap to match it, which caused wrinkles. If you buy a wider wrap, then you can stick it where it naturally falls, then cut off the excess.

    Great job installing it yourself. I'm curious how its held up over past year?

    • @GoMidwestFishing
      @GoMidwestFishing  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Its held up great! I put a couple scratches in it from hitting docks and such, but you really have to look to notice. The only thing I would have done different, would be to get a wider print. That way you won't have to bend it where the boat curves up near the front. It will prevent the wrinkles that I got from doing that.

    • @GoMidwestFishing
      @GoMidwestFishing  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven't made an update video, but its been holding up great. I've hit a few docks and put a couple scrapes in it, but you wouldn't even notice unless you looked real close. If I did it again, I would get a wider vinyl. I got the exact width, so I had to bend it to the curve of the boat which put some wrinkles in it.

    You don't spray water on the back of the vinyl for easy to wrap?

    • @GoMidwestFishing
      @GoMidwestFishing  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The back of the vinyl is a sticker, so water would prevent it from sticking. The vinyl is porous so when you heat it, it shrinks slightly and squeezes out the air bubbles. I actually should have got a wider vinyl. I was forced to curve it upward near the front of the boat which caused some wrinkles.

    How many trips have you taken it out on since applying the wrap? And how has it held up so far?

    • @GoMidwestFishing
      @GoMidwestFishing  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Blaze. I've used it for a full season since wrapping it. I'm not sure how many trips, but many, and I have used it hard. It is holding up great so far. I have one spot where I hit a dock that it scraped about a half inch hole in it, but that's it. No issues with peeling or coming off. It sticks on real good, especially when you use the primer on the edges.

    did you have to make a cut where the bow is?

    • @GoMidwestFishing
      @GoMidwestFishing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't on the left side and got some wrinkles, so I made a cut on the right side and it worked much better. Here's what I learned through this: I got a wrap the exact width needed (18 inches), which made me have to curve it upwards toward the front. If you buy a wider one, you can just let it stick where it naturally would, then cut off the excess. It still looks great from a distance, but you can see a few wrinkles up close. Its still holding up after a full year of use and I'm really glad I did it.

      Hi Matthew. Its actually holding up really well. I put a couple small dings in it where I banged into a dock, but its hard to notice. It sticks on really good, so there is no peeling of any kind. I'm really liking it. Its fun watching everyone look when you go by them.

      Yes. I've hit it with a pressure washer. It seems to hold up to everything that paint would. I've even banged it into docks. It made a small tear, but hardly noticeable. Its actually held up much better than I expected.
