Sweet boat! I was on the waiting list at Bass Pro for one when a nearly new 2013 Ranger Z117 came up for sale...for 3k more I got a fiberglass boat with 16 hours on the motor. (Sad story of loss and a 79 year old original owner... but a Blessing to me. We use the same boat dealer/service shop and they sold it new and had all the records and told me all about it when the guy decided to sell it) I absolutely LOVE the Tracker line...and for 99% of all the fishing I do - my old 16 ft aluminum boat is all I ever NEED. And I fully intended to get a new Aluminum boat. I just couldn't pass up this deal to walk into a Ranger that has only been on the water 4 times for just a few k more than Bass Pro wanted for the new Tracker I was waiting for. A huge Blessing for sure. I love that color package - very sharp!
I bought this exact boat (my 1st boat too) and what I love the most is HOW CLEAN, SOPHISTICATED and MINIMALIST your upgrades are! Oh, and let me add EFFICIENT! Talk about maximizing space!
As a tin boat owner myself, just a heads up, the addition of the talons and especially the jack plate will most likely cause problems with your transom down the road due to the excess weight and the setback of the motor. This will also void the lifetime warranty on the hull. I learned all of this the hard way when my transom cracked on my tracker 175. because of the talons, Tracker couldn't cover any of the repair costs.
That is a nice boat!! Loved how he prepped his ride…would never have thought to do some of the things that he did! My 1st boat was an aluminum 15’ Tracker with a 35 HP Mercury motor. A lot of fun in that boat, and learned a lot too. Nicely done!
We had one a couple of years ago. Loved it but was too small. Jumped up to a tracker pro tournament series 19.5 and absolutely love it. We love TIN boats. Our next one will be an express. Thank you for showing us this beauty! Tight lines....
AWESOME!!!! this vid is so cool!!! i am getting ideas to trick out my 175 tournament edition!! i love ur comment on the small well not holding ur FLA bags lol… that Lee is wild 🤘
I have a tracker v-18 tournament, a 150 pro xs. I got it in 2020 it had 15 minutes on it. It sat for 8 years in a garage. I call it the tin can. After all new fuel pumps and some love, it’s cool fast and beautiful
The classic xl was the first boat i ever owned and i loved that thing! I do have to say my z20 is much more comfortable to take my kids and family . Thats a bad ass rig man! nice job!
Guessing you haven't seen anything from TBN? Some of their builds are just insane. This one is definitely nice too. I enjoy these boat walkthroughs. I'm enjoying all the content bro, I love how you mix it up.
Definitely looked at a few they are absolutely crazy cool. The ones I have seen have been totally custom so I thought this was a cool example of somebody taking a bass boat in that style and tweaking out. Appreciate the support on the channel Homie
Great Job , do you have rough sketch and material list of casting deck. Did you rivet frame or screws ? I also want to trim windshield its to tall and distorted ,,
I have this model in a 2019, not tricked out like this one but I do have electronic upgrade, set of easy steps and a drotto. It's easy to launch and load by yourself compared to a glass boat I usually won't use the dock.
My first "real" boat was a Monarch 16' tin boat with a Mariner outboard back in the day. I really enjoyed fishing out of that boat. Excellent tricked out boat sir!!
My first boat was the same. It was brown and everyone called it the Turd. It was terrible in the wind but I didn't care, I was fishing and that's all that mattered.
Im trying to figure out what I should get for my 1st boat. I'm in North Florida near St Johns and Lochloosa so I'd like something I can run all through. But,,,, I have a small budget. Was really liking the cheaper aluminum ranger. Like 35k or so (which is still a lot for me)
Have you seen mine yet?.. I'm thinking I'll see someone doing it on a vid. like this with it's spin off.. But that's the way it goes.. Once you put it out there it's not yours anymore.. 😜 th-cam.com/video/CxXXPHuI6VQ/w-d-xo.html
I just traded my 2021 classic xl in. Had to go with the ranger, BUT I STUCK WITH THE TIN RIG. Hard to beat for my style of fishing. Miss my tracker though
yes sir !! Luv It !! I did the the same to My Black TCXL Feb 2021 50 hp.( added vessel view ). copied bred for bass design about 4 months ago,,, alum frame but 1 single storage lid instead of 2 ..also kept the access to the rod storage.. got off amazon a live well aerator timer that has 4 timed settings single hole in the dash w/ settings decal,, easy set up took the pwr wire from exiting switch plugged it into the timer and an existing unsued ground wire & WAA LAA 30 min later no more dead fishies .... bungie rod strap by the troling motor and by egde of the new deck exten. holds 6 rods easy 4 in the storage 👍since i don't do turneys ,,on the 6 gal tank i can make 3 trips to the lake on 1 tank that 50 hp SIPS GAS 👌top Speed 38.3mph ... 7'' Split shot Lowrance on a Ram Mount for the dash & put that cheesy 4'' of front ( saving up to replace that) No More 14' VALCO yanking my arm off on a 1990 2 stroke Evinrude with the wife goin HOW COME IT WONT START 🥵🤐🤣🤣🤣 luv YOUR sET UP bROTHER 😎
I still have your tracker boat and deck you made for it! I think I still have the graphs somewhere too. Still running the same 24v setup and power pole.
Love my classic xl but it’s barebones rn need a jack plate and tabs for these skinny fl rivers and flats thennnnn eventually real electronics lol. Have the 50hp need to look into that chip🤪
How does it fare in the wind?!? I have a 21 classic XL and I am debating on either trading it in for a bigger, fiberglass boat, or modding it like this. I just get blown around so bad in the wind and it doesn’t like to take on bigger lakes. It’s almost scary being out on the water when it’s choppy.
that's a sick build. no concern about the extra weight/power on the transom? me and my boy were fishing local tourneys out of one with a 50hp. had a minn kota riptide powerdrive with i-pilot and a 9in echomap on the bow. had a 7in echomap on the console and our "deck extension" was a 30gal cooler with a constant recirc aerator i wired up to plug into the 12v cigarette lighter port on the console. as you said, you can't fish tourneys in florida with that livewell. we still have it, but stepped up to an avid 19xb with a 150. This video has us talking about selling both and meeting somewhere in the middle.
Once you put those big talons it voids the warranty. I just put on two micro poles. Did the same thing for the live well necessary upgrade. I have a 36 volt ultrex it’s about 5 mph lol but also necessary I think in rough wind situations those boats catch wind bad.
🤣🤣🤣tin boat. Hey what ever floats our boat.🎉it’s enjoyable. I just redid m 1991 Kingfisher 196. Ne carpet upgraded to dual fore and aft farming SV 9 that does neat stuff. And new carpet and seats. A new motor guide 70pound thrust . It’s a heavy rough water boat. With the 200 Mercury with new power head in 2007 and less that 100 hours on it due to cring for an in-law and working and finally retired 18 months ago but at almost 74 it’s a bunch for me now to off load and load alone but still love going out . Yes.
Just texted my buddy Lee and here's what he said ST185/80R13 (full size spare--same size as the tires on the trailer) you can purchase from Bass Pro or any online tire retailers.

My first boat was an aluminum Tracker TX-17 in 1985 with a 55 hp Mercury … pretty amazing DIY but I’m gonna guess that by the time you add up everything he’s done to this it’s pretty comparable to just getting a Nitro Z-17 fiberglass. I’m way yo lazy to do all that custom work to a boat …lol
glad I bought my classic in 2019 when they were still 10k. not worth 18k now with the build quality they have factory in my opinion. boat looks cool though
People who have been here a while know you are a tin boat guy at heart!
For sure!!! I know I remember his shoulder cam days 🤣😂🤣
Yep! Them old Okeechobee days!!
No doubt about it. Was actually thinking about building one maybe a little less fancy than this of course some restricted horsepower Lakes near me.

Exactly what I want to do with my casting deck. One thing I plan on doing is converting the back storage locker to a 16 gallon live well. Well done!!

How much did it cost to powdered coat paint black on boat?
It’s a stock color for the classic XL
Aside from the cost are there advantages Tin to Glass? or Glas to Tin?
I still have your tracker boat and deck you made for it! I think I still have the graphs somewhere too. Still running the same 24v setup and power pole.

If u have a regulator downstream from ur alternator u can easily use a lifepo4 cranking battery
Where do you get the ecm chip. I need that
You can find out all the info about the 60 HP PCM mod on my channel.
Do they make a ecm chip for a 40 mercury.
Liked the CPR mention

That boat is (SUPER DOPE )and with a 60 on it must Scream ,I have a 20 on my 1648 Grizzly and it goes 20mph he must be doing at least 50 🔥🔥
Its a 50 with chip to make 60hp... With all that equipment and weight, it might pull 34mph wide open on a sheet of glass. 50mph.... never happen lol
