Check out Alex and Megan's incredibly rugged DIY Built 2WD Chevy Express Van! They are on the 3rd version of Betty the Van, with Alex welding up the bumpers, roof rack and storage solutions + an epic Raptor Liner paint job! On the interior, not only is the woodworking gorgeous and functional, but the hardwoods found within the build are actually from his parents property! So sit back, enjoy and take some notes, this is one of the best tours we've had on the channel in a while!

I have a 1994 Ford E150 van converted, and I feel the same way (perhaps having learned to drive in the old days of 2WRD, no ABS & manual shifting). It will go anywhere that matters.
glad to hear you enjoy your rig!!!! thanks for watching and keep on using that van :)
@@NateMurphy I do have a problem I emailed you about, Nate, without a reply yet. I bought the 10th edition but can't seem to update to any since. What should I do?
Nicely built and thought out
Agreed, they did an amazing job! Thanks for watching :)
Just a chuckle. My family ran fly in camps in northern Quebec. We hauled supplies in by snowmobile and 4x4 when and where possible. We knew to get good and stuck you need 4x4.
I would agree that 95% of the time an 2wheel drive with some ground clearance and decent tires will get you almost anywhere. Happy trails!
You guys are done pretty much a remarkable job. Congratulations.
i like how he keeps being like... it's a simple electrical system... and reveals the matrix behind this panel lol
Well done!!! Im looking at a chevy express, really want to do what vanlifers do! Thanks for inspiration from ur build!
Thanks for the great tour guys! This was rad!🙌🏻🙌🏻
Thanks for having us Alex! You guys are rad folks and your build is something to be extremely proud of!!!
@@NateMurphy thank youuuu!🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻😁
Lol I like that the first feature showcased here was the pee funnel. Not a bad idea!
nice build!
Right?! They absolutely crushed this one!
Sensible choice for a van, and a good option for me being on a budget. Did REE physically build your system? What does something like that cost?
Hey, Alex installed the system himself :)
What happened to discuss 2x4 compared to 4x4???
I’d like this build in my van plz
When are you selling this,
never ever ever ever take a 2wd to the beach... i work as a guide for 4x4 tours on a beach and see tows x25 a day... most get stuck in the first 100 yards. the tow is $700 off the beach too
Check out their channel, it’s incredible where they take their van with the know how to air down, understanding of terrain etc. but without Alex’s knowledge, 4x4 is definitely a good idea haha
@@NateMurphy its a very very bad idea that can get your car swallowed by the ocean in hours and promoting it is dumb
@@NateMurphy know your terrain? the sand will be compact in the morning and by 12 pm be super soft and completely different... this is not true of knowing your terrain. he can do it bc he is in early spring and the sand still has water in it -- in 30-45 days he wont
