Betty is going to be as beautiful as your blue eyes! I look forward to the build videos showing us how much more effectively space can be used. The best part is going to be the extra height so that you can stand up and not hurt yourself by being being crouched over all of the time.
Hahaha, thanks man. We’re both super stoked on the upcoming upgrades. Also stoked to have a layout that has been boiled down after six months of travel.
@@SlowRoamers Thank you for not getting upset that I said about your physical appearance, maybe it’s because you’re Canadian. I see so many times that a guy will write “no homo” to another guy if he says any compliment to that guy. Americans can be so afraid that someone’s going to think that they are gay. Obviously not everyone feels that way. My dad was not that way at all, he could say if another man is a good looking guy and he was a real hugger as well. I had a friend in college that had to sit halfway around the table was it was just the two of us. When our other friend would sit close to this guy, he would get so upset. Sorry for my rambling on, blame it on me being 64. I can delete all of it you want.
Love to hear the reasoning behind the changes as really helps anybody designing a new build with function and practicality, can’t wait to see the new design!
I could have made the list a lot longer with a lot more reasons. Good to know you think the video can help! You’re gonna love the new design.😁 Thanks for watching!
You talked about carrying additional water cans. I saw the huge river beside you. Instead of carrying additional water, why not just get a LifeSaver Jerry Can so you can purify your own water from any source. Solves the problem of additional water cans and where to store them and you can free up space. You can also get a shower head from LifeSaver that fits onto the top of the jerry can. You could take the shower head and the jerry can and build that right into your kitchen as a spout and water storage, all in one.
All good points, but we’re also not close to a river. We spent two months down in Baja this past winter and only twice stayed close enough to a fresh water source that we could pump from. We’re not actually adding any more water storage, just moving the water can we hold on the back to inside the van where it’s less likely to freeze. We’ll be using a Clear Source filtration system in the next build so if necessary we can fill up water cans in a river and bring them back to the van. Also, the lifesaver water cans are like $700CAD, a little rich for our budget.😬
Yep, that’s the plan. Once we’re ready we’ll do locker and gears. Probably just going to do a trutrac locker to avoid the additional cost of a fancy compressor required by an air locker.
No, probably not. I’ve got the Toyota pickup for that. We decided to not do a 4WD swap due to the amount of time and money it’ll cost for an upgrade we won’t be using 90% of our drive time. I didn’t mention a locker upgrade in the video for some reason, but that’s what we’ll be doing. We’re both quite confident that a locker will be sufficient for where we intend to take the van. And, we’ve already sold the fridge, 😬.

WOW! I can't wait to see all of the changes, and will really be watching as I have the same van...only older. Thanks for sharing!
Whew! Stoked to have you along, Jackie! You’re going to love the new build.😁

We sure will, thanks Jason!
Betty 3.0 LETS GO!!!
Let’s gooooooo!
Looks like a lot of well thought out ideas. Looking forward to following the new build.
Heck yeah! Thanks for watching and glad to have you along for the journey!
Alright! Pitter patter!
Let’s get at’r!!!
This was interesting to see compared to how it turned out.
lol, yeah, I think there was a pretty big addition of stuff that I made after I did this video.
@@SlowRoamers that’s the way it goes.
With the bigger taller tires, will you changing the gearing? A locker maybe?

So.. what a 4wd upgrade??🤘🏼
Also might willing to buy your fridge when you upgrade. I’m on the island so good meet up 🤙🏼

I love the tiny-stove! Where can I get one stateside?
I ordered direct from tiny-stove. He doesn’t have a US storefront yet unfortunately.
@@SlowRoamers gotcha. How did you translate his website! Lol
