They get away with lying because they're low in anxiety. All of the signs of lying, even on a professional level, are the same as anxiety.

They certainly do lie and when you come to realize that you have been played, they come back and this time the lies are so predictable and simple minded, you are left in a deep fog. It is a horrific sad feeling when you began to revisit situations and events, you are realizing how crazy and cold this relationship has really been.

was w my narc gf off and on for 8yrs. the only time she was ever honest, not lying to me, was when she made this statement a couple times while we were together, and it would come completely out of the blue, "sometimes i feel like a 3yr old". what a off the wall, odd thing, for a full grown, adult woman, to say? after the fact, what she was honestly saying was she did not understand herself. one of the worst things about being with one is 'not knowing'. im not stupid, but if you dont fully understand narcissism, your screwed. several months after i kicked her to the curb, i was busy cooking in the kitchen, had u tube randomly playing for background noise. half paying attention, a man starts describing her, and her narc actions to a T. shut down kitchen duty, and spent the next several hrs watching narc vids. not only did the vids explain everything, they also explained her odd comment. they are nothing more than lost, butt hurt children, living in a adults body. that was 9yrs ago, and if that vid would not have randomly popped up, i would still be in the dark to this day. their entire mental dysfunction is very hard for a normal mind to understand. it was nice of jesus to toss me that bone, giving me clarity/understanding.

I’ve been through the same mate. It takes awhile to understand that it really isn’t you but you honestly can’t win against someone with NPD. You’re trying to reason with someone who has serious mental health issues and you end up arguing with a person with the emotional capacity of a toddler. That’s why they resort to tantrums, silent treatment, using blocking etc etc

Once I healed on this I realized I was once the new supply who believed their lies because I wasn’t being honest with myself or willing to confront them on most things. ME!!!
When the narcissist cheated, she lied about everything and ultimately blamed me!
She took no responsibility for her crude and awful behavior.
She constantly manipulated my access to our financial resources, and left me almost pennyless when she discarded me. Looking back, the lies, the deception, the breaking and destruction of every single marital vow we took together was almost, it seemed, after awhile, some kind of daily occurrence. Even, to this day, it continues as I fight for my financial life while she is off, gallivanting all over the planet, as if nothing happened and that everything is wonderful, of course, for herself only….
After all these years of listening to you, Melanie, I shouldn’t be “surprised” or amazed anymore that this kind of abnormal behavior is part of their repertoire, but I still am hurt and amazed that it continues….
Thank you for continuing to be here for us and give us the guidance that we need to survive and thrive after this wicked and awful human behavior most of us have endured for way too long.

The double down on the lie.. 😑
My ex was accidentally exposed when he was on the phone with his dad, his dad asked where a woman was who he'd lied to me about. He scrambled and gave a reason as to why they he stopped seeing her (when he told me she was a friend he'd never date). When he got off the phone, I asked why he lied to me. His response was "Are you really going to ruin the good time we're having?"
    Oh. You bet I am.
He looked me in the eye and continued to lie, and he actually changed the details of a previous situation to show why the current situation couldn't be true. I could not believe that that was his response after being caught red handed.
He also told me his dad was deceased when he wasn't. When I confronted him he lied, lied again and then finally admitted he lied. And his two reasons were: he wanted it to seem he understood what I was going through when my dad actually passed away (that's what brought us back in contact, we were long time friends), and because "his dad was dead to him" for a few years of no contact.. that was his justification.

OMG-the polygraph threat-but he refused to let me look through the phone and/or call the numbers! Now I’m facing “capacity” issues professionally and he’s already emailed and texted my parents about my “capacity” and they sought an order of protection and he stopped with them-but not with me…and the “others”…it’s sickening and heartbreaking as my son has recently called me “paranoid” and that broke my heart! But he’s now 18 so I said he has to live with dad and I’m only hoping after 24/7 with him he might see the light after malware on all of our electronics stems from my sons phone-yet he refuses to believe in spite of tangible evidence of such…it’s an ongoing saga-it’s surreal.

Barely two months in October after the discard (on 28/7/2016), I found out that the narcissistic groomer in my life had moved on with a new guy already. It became obvious that was already under way even prior to the discard. After that realization, even if people try to feed me information about how well that narcissist is doing in life, I don't reciprocate any attention anymore and just block those people.

Me……….my narcissistic ex gf flew from France to the uk to meet me after only about two months of online chatting. We met in a golf hotel and she walked in like an actress and part of me knew something was off. The next few days she was getting looks from all the men at the hotel as I walked around with her like part of her personal bodyguard (as she is attractive) and she seemed to love the attention. So I knew something wasn’t right about her and also thought “why is she single”……..the gut was waving a massive red flag 🚩 at me but the lovebombing was all consuming so yes you do ignore things in the beginning

I was the one with the low self esteem

In fact he had a nice childhood and no trauma
He was diagnosed narcissistic as well by our marriage counselor at the end when I finally left him and he still does not accept that he is a narcissist

So similar to my story Caroline. However, he was the 'golden boy' of the family who could do no wrong. Whatever he so wanted or desired he would get it. He went onto play professional football and he was the most disgusting abusive entitled individual that I had the extreme misfortune to set up home with and, by the way, it was my home. Thank God I finally found the strength to rid him from my life. He was and is the most arrogant vile creature. I continue to find peace and 'I have earned the right to be alone' and happy. xx

@@vickidespretter2828 Thank you so much for sharing 🌷 and I share your joy that you got out . I don't know about you .. but so many of these descriptions of Narcissistic behaviors fit in general ... But often times really truly do not reflect a narcissist
And again I'm coming in at it from my perspective but my father was also a narcissist
My ex-husband versus my father we're very different personalities. My ex-husband was super charming especially to everyone outside the home . His abuse was not physical It was mental and verbal . He had no interest in our children and always felt I was a single mother even in marriage
Whenever we would go to the grocery store or any place like events He was always scanning the room for the area .. wanting to lock eyes with people in hopes that they would feed his ego
Especially other women but of course he was trying to hide that lol
      But our intuitions know
It was out in public that he pretended to be the doting father and husband.
And I can tell you from experience I think a person can actually die of loneliness because I almost got to that point
There was very little to no affection
He would insult by " joking " ...
But could also be very cruel in certain circumstances
I had a miscarriage .. I found out on an ultrasound at around 8 weeks ... The doctor told me everything would be okay I would have a lot of cramping and some bleeding and it should pass
A couple days later I went into full labor (three kids prior to this so I know what labor feels like lol ) And I could feel my hips shifting and it was very strange to walk. By 11:00 p.m. I needed to go to the emergency room. Not only did he sleep on the couch through all of my pain but when I finally went to wake him up he was completely burdened and told me I would be just fine and the doctor said it was nothing. Zero comforting during the process
I finally threatened him that I would take an ambulance and that would cost us more money if he did not take me because I could not drive myself. He reluctantly put on his shoes tied them very slow put on his jacket slow.. acted annoyed.. and then proceeded to head to the car without helping me down the stairs or again providing no comfort
When we started to drive I asked him if he could drive a little faster because I felt something emergent
He told me he was not getting a ticket
When we got to the hospital as I walked in the door I gave birth in the hallway
No it was not a full grown baby but it was something and it was intense and full labor and a lot of blood
When all the nurses came rushing to me to help me.. and during the process of helping me.. He stood up against a wall and looked very tired like he just wanted to go back to bed
He barely spoke to me all that night and then when the hospital suggested they keep me because they were worried about me hemorrhaging he told me they just wanted our money
The nurses pulled me aside and asked if I was okay at home
I reluctantly said yes because again there was no physical abuse
When we got home at around 5:30 a.m. he got ready for work went to work and I did not hear from him all day He did not check on me
      I should have left then
That was one of many circumstances that I should have packed my bags and left without saying a word lol
But no.. I proceeded to have another child with him. This child was severely autistic and I was left on my own to do everything for the years.
He was a good financial provider
      But that was all
And of course what is he hang up on.. that he's a good financial provider therefore he's a good father lol
When I hear these when these videos or literature about narcissism sometimes I just shake my head because there are so many things that aren't present with every narcissist so it's kind of misleading
And it is true that you just don't find out until later in the relationship because it's subtle and the changes are slow but then you start having feelings that something is not right.
And it just continues and grows from there
I watched my ex-husband treat strangers better than he treated his family
He was super helpful with them.. everyone loved him at his job And of course he was in a position of power as he managed an entire store
But he's so good with other people in public
At home he was lazy and slept
And .. didn't participate in much of anything at home
But in public he would participate in everything even at church he would raise his hands and sing..
      But I knew the truth.
Get nothing to do with God outside of that but when you put them in a church full of people who are looking or he thinks is looking That's when his hands go up and he starts to sing.
      The hypocrisy is stomach churning
But these are the people with the most friends..
When I did finally leave him.. He went after my family and finally befriended them. Even after 17 years of marriage never wanted anything to do with certain members of my family for no reason at all but just didn't want to waste the energy I suppose
All of a sudden they became very important to him
I lost a few family members because of his lies and his charm
      And that's okay
I totally hear you though... And I'm sorry for your experience as well and I'm sure he was able to convince a lot of people that you were the crazy one or the reason for the split
It's an awful feeling .. because not only are they trying to say face and throw you under a bus.. but when people believe it it's like you're breaking up with multiple people instead of just one
Which is what they do they seek out to destroy when they're not getting their way
My ex-husband told me many times that if I left him he would pull the rug out from underneath me financially and in every way and he most certainly did
But I recovered and it's been 8 years
Married to my best friend now I love of my life and even though he's not perfect either as no one is .. He is a far cry from the men of my past .. an incredibly affectionate
      Sorry if it's TMI lol..
I just really wanted to respond to your message and let you know that I feel you and hear you and I understand that pain you carry around from narcissistic abuse 🌷

Once we had got married and he moved in to my home, the mask slipped, he began to drive a wedge between me and my adult children, he accused my daughter who is a respectable teacher with more money than him, of stealing his belongings, maxed out my credit card, he wouldn’t let me drive the car which I owned half of, he made digs about my appearance and stopped touching me, he spent all his money on what I don’t know, my health deteriorated. When I eventually asked him to leave he smeared me to my neighbours tellign them he suspected I was a Prostitute, and he stole lots of my belongings. This was 6 months ago and I am still spinning.

If your narc is a female, she is sleeping with no less than 3 men behind your back. Just make sure your not married to her. If you are, your 100% responsible for her bills.

Excuse me, used to watch every video of yours. I related to you, a lot more than I believe my mother ever could have . It is really nothing I plan to share right now. OR ever . She Paid for your modules. But she spied on me. THat is the problem. She is heinous. CHristina Linde. SHe is a conartst, has changed her last name like 5 times. no husband. If you would respond to me I would feel the support I need. I am not able to go into depth. I am an adult. More in a situation like You, with the adrenaline meds. She, just projects. but if you dont even respond. amnot worried that you are fake, I just want to talk - esp cause - I care about all of the above

    ❤️🦋❤️
