I was the new supply. Found out he destroyed his ex. He didn't treat me any better.
Mine had an "angry ex-girlfriend"..always a bad sign...but was "good friends" with ex-wife, which threw me. She was on other side of the country tho, so... discovered later that he'd been stringing her along for 20 years, implying they might get back together.
Correct ... the same pattern over and over 😮
The most important thing that I ever learned about narcissists is that they will never change. The take away is… Save yourself!

TIME FRAME
Year 1: Love Bombing and promise of marriage.
Years 2-7: Hoovering and promises to change every time I left
Year 7: I left for umpteenth time, but this time moved across country
7 MONTHS after I left: Married to another person he met on-line. Not dating, not engaged, not living together. MARRIED. With "the big, beautiful diamond ring" that I never received...even after helping him through his career changes, his mother's cancer, her death, cleaning out her house...Basically "playing role of wife". Amazing how the hoovering suddenly ended once I was "geographically undesireable". What a great guy. 🙄
I feel for ya. Similar situation here, but we can always do better and we did, right?
Count your blessings you got far away!!! You are strong and claiming your own power…that is awesome!
They are truly parasites that cannot live or even truly care about anyone…. We were all just accessories to them ..nothing more
I needed to know this many years ago. I have been dealing with this for over 50 yrs. Here is how it will leave you. 78 yrs old in Sept, 6 months ago had a quadruple bypass and my aorta is at a 4.6cm in size. When the size gets to 5.0cm, it is opening up my chest again. I refuse that as a choice, so if I can keep the stress down will determine how long that I will live. I still get around, much better than most 60 year olds that I know. Still active, installed 2 air condition units a couple months ago.
I could write a book on this subject.

My ex narc's new supply is more controllable than I was ...neither of them looked happy despite the act

My ex narc husband abandoned me leaving me with a child, now adult child with a disability. Almost 20 years and he’s still with the same supply, and doesn’t help financially with our son

My ex of 11 yrs is now engaged to the new supply after he cheated but convinced himself he didn't. After a lot of pain and work, I'm back to myself!!!!!!

I'd love the Intel on the narc I was dating when it ended he ran into a love relationship with his therapist and they are making their relationship very public! So sick. I wonder who is manipulating who!
Many therapists have fallen for n's. They believe the "it was ny ex who had all the issues" narrative and are love bombed and charmed. I've also had therapists this has happened too who have been n-abused come firward to start NARP healing. It's all the same pattern. Many therapists are wounded healers. Relief from this and healing from abusers requires self inner healing. ❤
